The best way to do this is to save an old 8oz spray bottle add 2 or 3 packs off coolaid to water in it and use it as a bait spray. You can also add other smells like garlic vanilla anise to name a few. Just cut up some chicken or shrimp and spray as you use them. You can also add some vodka to make the scent go farther in the water. You dont get messy this way and it works great. You can also apply it to other baits like minnow, red worm and nightcrawler.
Well I'm originally a European fisherman, but you guys fish just like us, I like that bobber setup, rod and reel are also very nice! It's good to see people not just bass fishing all the time, like there is nothing else in the water!
Would it be better to use thighs instead of breast? I've often wondered this. Thighs have a higher fat content. Skin on chicken thighs would have even more so. I may give that a try.
I've used this in all kinds of places. big lakes small lakes and pond rivers. I like anise with chicken breast too. works really good in pay lakes that stock weekly. also use 10 ft rod Garcia reel and big bobber. but I remove the weight off the bobber. to each his own.
I wonder how well this will work in rivers? every video I see people are using this method in ponds. I have made my own and I'm heading to the Tennessee river tomorrow afternoon around 5 pm and I'm gonna fish until about midnight because I got to work Sunday afternoon wish me luck
I use shrimp, black cherry koolaid & garlic salt instead of chicken & catch channel cats in rivers up to the 5lb range near the bank at night, for Flatheads I go with live bait. I keep the Koolaid shrimp in the fridge in a tupperware container in between trips, it gets tuffer as the days go by after 2 weeks I make a new batch.
Will Melton called slip floats.you can get as simple or as crazy as you want with them.works the same either way.pan fish i just use ping pong balls with coffee straws inserted and glued in place.catfishing will need a bigger float for sure so just spend a little cash on em.you will need some stop knots and beads.youtube has tons of vids on makeing the stop knots and beads can be found anywhere.no need to buy the more expensive kits at the baitshop.these floats,or bobbers as we call em down south, offer complete depth control.set the stop knot where you want the bobber to stop, and the bead will stop at the knot, bobber stops at the bead.when you cast all you have is the bobber and rig to cast out.and you can set it to fish at 60 feet if you want it to.all you need to know is the depth where your fishing and that will let you know where to set the knot.bobber does the rest.once you get used to them you wont use anything else
Ok I made this with cherry jello and strawberry koolaid with vanilla extract. It's ok the fridge now, hopefully I didn't make it wrong because I really want this to work! I lost about a 40 pound flat head in a small pond and I'm going back to after him!
I'll definitely by trying this... love catfish, love making homemade cat bait. My best catfish baits are usually quite simple ones... ground beef mixed with flour and garlic and liquid smoke. I'm always testing/trying new baits and i do believe i'll try this one next time, just gotta get some strawberry kool-aid
Made this bait. I have used it on three different days. I caught one channel cat one black bass and one turtle. Also used red worms. I caught a lot of cats on big red worms from wall mart. My advice go buy the worms.
I use it in small lake just before noon, got me a few large cat fish! It works great!
The video is very inspiring gives me strength missing my father spending time on the river fishing together.
It's also nice to go to A well-stocked catfish pond
GreenBoy at GA Farms exactly! Take it to a public lake and you’ll not catch as many.

Love this Bait first time using it caught 2 good size Channel Cats.
Do you refrigerate this or set it out in the sun?
Also my question is does it work well in the river
Santee Cooper SC best fishing spot I've been to on East coast 2 lakes back up to one another
I live a few miles away from the Santee Cooper area. The best fishing ever!
We going up there in about 2 weeks and I believe we'll do really well
Would it be better to use thighs instead of breast?

Cleanest pond water I've ever seen. I'll bet those are some of the best tasting catfish on the planet! mmmm
RonRay a clean pond is a happy pond and fish 👌
So is it supposed to go in the fridge overnight then?

Joshua , Did you do any good in the river ?

That catches catfish! I am making me some.
I’ve had luck Fishing in rain always caught the bigger catfish and reds when it was raining
FYI, Just saw a you tube video where the young lady caught a few large cat fish on Chicken on traught line.
Trot line
I'm gonna try this tomorrow at the Erie Canal!
just tried this today and have to say was surprised was running on on bottom. any tricks for keeping it on a hook better
What kind of bobbers were you using? And where did you get them?
big daddy is what some are called. you can buy them at any local paylake or a store on a river or ANY fishing store

Using hotdog instead of chicken works to. Alittle cheaper bait .
Can anyone tell me what kinda hook will hold jello bait?? Want to help my boys catch fish but we are learning from scratch.
From my experience everything stays on a circle hook
Just don’t use a big one
Made this bait. I have used it on three different days. I caught one channel cat one black bass and one turtle. Also used red worms. I caught a lot of cats on big red worms from wall mart. My advice go buy the worms.
Very good !!! Thank you for video!!!
Wow, I am going to try that strawberry chicken
What fishing rod and reels where you using?
The rod was a G-Loomis Muskie...and the reel was a Shimano Calcutta D.
Not bad for a zero pressured pond!
This bait works ok on catfish. But it is the best bait I've ever used for Gar! Its dynamite!
Yep try in public lakes
ty very much :):):)we caught five channel catfish with your recipe today:):):)
aBobby Perez
Simple and helpful
fresh.....not frozen chicken livers is a killer bait. i wrap in nylon stockingthen onto hook.
Will this work on a river.
It might, the only way to see if it does is to try it
emm hmmm
andrew v I'm sure it varies in different bodies of water.
ExarKenneth71 yes
Coin981 yes, it does work in rivers and lakes. You just need to give the fish sometime to find it.
Didint work in lake in texas
Do you put it in fridge or leave it out after you mix it ?
Put in fridge.
It's nothing but a stock pond with catfish
Bet its nice not smelling like old chicken liver or stinkbait, I'll have to try it
Mmmmmm channel cats in a pond?
I cant find strawberry koolaid any where. Jell-o yeah. You think cherry koolaid will work?
I use cherry koolaid and catch tons of catfish with small squares of chicken breast marinated in a ziploc bag with cherry koolaid
fav hot day bait
at least somebody uses proper bobbers.thank god for that.
Catch all of them in a stock pond
That's a Stocked pond..... call BS

Queen Ada Adebayo yes

Joshua Givan no
thats why catfish taste like chicken
Aligator the same thing at aligator parks they feed them chicken when they cook up fried gator everybody says "tastes like chicken."
best way is to add garlic powder
The fish he caught are both flatheads 1st once not a blue
No. None of them were flatheads. They are channel cats.
You may want to re-watch, the fish pictured at 3:48 and again at 4:05 are both clearly flathead.
@@swaybelly3212 Both fish are channels as they have the forked tail while the Flatheads do not.
They are NOT CHANNLE CAT
if you have the good fishing skills
So cringy1
na dip it works
