I would add some vegetable oil to help with scent spread. And either salt or sugar as a preservative because on a warm day my weak gag reflex will have me chumming!
My new idea is to buy some punch bait like sonnys tripple s blood and put a quarter cup of bourbon in it let it soak for about a week then use it also use bourbon on livers

You can add shredded cotton and mix it in to make it a punchbait instead of a dip bait

I've made the same just add some blended shad and let it ferment in the heat in the bucket, I've caught 20 and 30 pounders. they can't resist it!

What about grinding up some frozen shad sides and guts in an old blender and mixing with this. Do you think it would work?

I've used chicken liver that's turned black and caught a 20 pound channel cat
I've never had liver that long, but I'm going to give out a try this year

I use it occasionally but it is so funky that I usually opt for cut bait or shrimp. Still effective when I do use it
