I'm using my Climber every day for 20 years. I've replaced scissor spring two times, toothpick and scales couple of times. Easy to sharpen, no fear factor at work. Awesome.

I’ve carried a Swiss Army knife daily for around 45 years and, when I was in the outdoor industry, I sold hundreds, maybe thousands, of them. You touched briefly on what Victorinox, in my opinion, needs to do to attract more customers and it’s actually very simple once they get beyond some kind of corporate hangup they apparently have about their products. They need to change to a better steel in their knife blades. They can, and should, keep the steel they use for every other tool on the knife but offer better steel options on the knife blade. They have produced so many models over the years with countless combinations of tools so I know it is possible for them to do this but I firmly believe that it would be a simple matter to test this idea and let the customer show them the wisdom of this idea through actual sales. And maybe they already do this because I don’t shop their product line because my old Swiss Army knives serve me well and I’m not in need of replacing these old friends and have a sentimental attachment to them. But I’d be sorely tempted to buy just one more knife if I could get a knife blade that holds an edge better and longer. Better yet, and here’s a long shot for you, if I could send my old Swiss Army knife I’ve carried for decades back to the factory to have this requested better steel knife blade installed, I’d do it in an eye blink even if it cost me more than the price of a brand new knife!

I have over 20 Victorinox models. They are such amazingly well engineered tools, and the Climber to me is the best all around edc model.
    Love those RGT micarta scales!

The scales are incredible, and I agree, possibly the perfect configuration. Thanks for watching!

Hi. Enjoyed your video. My Boss ( friend) just went to Switzerland and picked me up a new knife with different camo scales and i really like that he picked it out for me and it is from there also! I do have a pocket clip on it now but thinking of doing some paracord on it? Unsure of what knot and or how long to make it as i have never tied one like that for a pocket knife? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good day

Of you have never carried a SAK you will just never understand how it becomes such a loved daily carry.
Ps you should have got the huntsman with the saw blade.

I have zero interest in the SAK multi tools, but if Victorinox made the Evoke in a super steel, it would retire every one of my FRN Spydercos. Bonus points if they made it screw construction, not that either will ever happen.

I’d say one criticism I have of Victorinox, is they are very stubborn when it comes to innovation. Upgraded materials, and ability to disassemble the tools would make them that much more desirable. I guess why change something that works.. but having those options would certainly be nice

They're great, and great quality for everyday tasks, especially for the price! You should try carrying one for a while.

Please do not soak your Swiss Army Knife in seawater. If you do, the moving parts will seize up in no time.
