    My KJoy Slysz Bluie is perfect. ‘Course, it’s got upgraded all-T8 hardware and a Ti clip from RGT, a custom silver twill CF backspacer, and the scales have been stripped, then reanodized to a much more attractive shade of blue. NOW, it looks like a ~$500 knife. 😁

    No Cold Steel knives either.......yet! I want one of these and the Recon 1 Tanto. Also the compact version of this one too. That's 3 I HAVE to have. I'm currently caught up buying Benchmades now, but I'm gonna pick these CS knives up soon. They look great!

    I have 2 of the 3 (sorta).....except my Para 3 is in CruWear with smooth G10 handles. It's a great knife that I paid around $124 for 6 years ago and has been my most-used single bladed folder (although I do prefer SAK's for carrying around). Fast forward to this year, picked up a Native 5 LW in SPY27....while I love the knife, the $160 price tag for cheap plastic handles and barely any hardware on a really small knife is a little ridiculous, but unfortunately that's the world we've moved into the last few years. That being said, I want the Native 5 in CruWear w/ micarta handles - waiting to see if there's any Black Friday deals before ordering.

    Only thing this knife needs is a smaller choil for more cutting edge and much smaller blade window. In other words I want this big knife to stay big but more usablee for my small hands.

    First thing I do when I get a black multitool is soak it in hot water with dawn dish soap to clean off the excess coating so I don't blacken my hand every time I use the thing. As for the Arc, I have two. Both have major frame flex, both won't hold or take an edge worth squat, and both have had wire cutters fail on wire that even Gerber cutters cut like butter. I'll take my Surge, Swiss Tool, or Charge over any other multitool

    • @The_commonman
      @The_commonman 18 днів тому

      I’m surprised about that.. maybe I’ve just been lucky with my arc.. no issues at all. And washing the coated versions first is a good idea, I was surprised at how much of it comes off

    • @The_commonman
      @The_commonman 22 дні тому

      It came like this right out of the box. I’d recommend just a slight adjustment to the pivot. Might be best to remove the screw, apply loctite, then tune it to your liking and let it dry.

    When you get stiff pliers, just keep using them. They loosen up over time. My Signal, ST 300, amd Wave all came stiff like that and after I used them for a couple weeks, they loosened right up

    Just got one. Overall not bad. But to me it feels SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper and not as…solid in the handle as the Bugout. I like the wharnie but I would probably give this one up for a Magnacut Bugout. To me, this thing’s saving grace is the advertised 62-64 hrc. I don’t think Benchmade would run a Bugout that hard.

    Great knife. Magnacut was done right. Super slicey and light weight. Only bad thing was the Omega springs sucked. Action was terrible, blade opened in my pocket everyday, almost no detent. It was unsafe to carry till I replaced the springs with after market from eBay and completely changed the knife. Bugout size springs worked great.

    I’ve carried a Swiss Army knife daily for around 45 years and, when I was in the outdoor industry, I sold hundreds, maybe thousands, of them. You touched briefly on what Victorinox, in my opinion, needs to do to attract more customers and it’s actually very simple once they get beyond some kind of corporate hangup they apparently have about their products. They need to change to a better steel in their knife blades. They can, and should, keep the steel they use for every other tool on the knife but offer better steel options on the knife blade. They have produced so many models over the years with countless combinations of tools so I know it is possible for them to do this but I firmly believe that it would be a simple matter to test this idea and let the customer show them the wisdom of this idea through actual sales. And maybe they already do this because I don’t shop their product line because my old Swiss Army knives serve me well and I’m not in need of replacing these old friends and have a sentimental attachment to them. But I’d be sorely tempted to buy just one more knife if I could get a knife blade that holds an edge better and longer. Better yet, and here’s a long shot for you, if I could send my old Swiss Army knife I’ve carried for decades back to the factory to have this requested better steel knife blade installed, I’d do it in an eye blink even if it cost me more than the price of a brand new knife!

    To make it comprehensiv: victorinox plier based multitool are called "swiss tool" there is 2 kind of swiss tools: regular and "spirit" the one in this video is a "spirit" kind, regular are more bulky and have 1 or 2 more tools (a prybar and a ruler on the side if I'm not wrong) but are less comfortable. then there is letters: M stand for 1 hand opening X stand for scissors (instead of a serrated secondary blade) BS stand for black version then there is a word: plus stand for having a case with a corkscrew (that connect to the tool to be used), a glasses screwdriver and a bit kit (can be with ratchet) clip obviously stand for the clip. the exceptions are the swiss tool mxbs and the swiss tool spirit mxbs, orginally made and issued for the austrian army if I'm not wrong, in these, scissors do not replace the serrated blade, instead they replace the wood saw and the serrated blade is curved with a non-cutting end and have a one hand opening to, it's designed to cut seatbelt and victims's clothes.
