    You have the start of a great collection there. There is nothing strange about listening to the records before buying it. Back in the old days record shops had dedicated listening booths you would take the record you were interested in into the room and listen to it before deciding if you wanted to buy it. Youre just using the modern version of that

    Hello Charity, it's perfectly fine to choose what you want to buy., where you want to buy. Don't mind what others think or say. Its your collection and the BEST person to decide which to buy is YOU.
    Nice Disney picture disc collection! I'm starting a picture disc collection myself.
    Cheers!

    Mad respect for the amount of work you put into this video. A lot of these vinyl videos I’ve been watching are pretty straightforward, but you’re doing something different. More power to you.

    totally agree with you!! sometimes there are some album that really popular, or got suggested by many others people, but it's just not your cup of tea. so you have to listen to the album first and really 100% sure that you enjoy the whole album or at least 70% of the songs before spending the money to buy it, instead of buying the album and found out that you didn't like it at all, or just 1 or 2 song you like in the whole entire album....

    Locally, if you have a Half Price Books, their prices are surprisingly low. They range from 5-30 dollars and are in good condition. I would highly recommend:)

    Got a nice collection going there. Ever look for them at flea markets? You can find good deals on used vinyl, although some of the vendors can be a rip off too. I wouldn't worry too much about records having scratches. Most will still play fine, although I've found the ones made in the 80s are more sensitive because by then the vinyl used was cheaper and flimsier than it was in the 60s and earlier. Anyway, keep up the good work!

    • @CharityRyan
      @CharityRyan  4 роки тому

      Mark Honhorst oh wow thanks for the tip! i’ll be sure to check that out. i’m always hesitant about scratches because some of the ones i’ve gotten from barns & noble skip although they look fine 😜 i just get scared and picky!

    5:48 I can really relate to that honestly. I also just recently started collecting vinyl and my first purchase was in a local record store where I purchased an Iron Maiden record (I love 80s metal) that was worth 40 dollars. I knew the price was really high but I really loved the music and I already had enough money so I went and bought it. But it was second hand and when I put it on almost every track had issues with skipping. One track in particular skipped 5 times. I was pretty pissed. I still go to that store cus of the cool selection but I don’t even bother looking at the 40-50 dollar records even if it’s music I really like

    Hi Charity - If you could get hold of some powered speakers with a jack plug that fits the headphone socket on your record player your records would sound awesome with full bass. That's what I do. Although I do have an old Sony Hi Fi system also I like using my brief case style record player,
