Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your experiences. I was diagnosed with 24 i am from Germany and i am 37 now and they are uncertain now 😌. I know i have depression, for probably the last five years and i just had 2 Potential hypomanic episodes when i was abroad but they cant really tell anymore. May i ask you a question, in the hypomanic episodes i couldnt sleep and i was more active and excited but i was also very tired but i couldnt shut my mind of. Usually they say you are not tired despite of less sleep 🤔 i took Lithium for 8 years and 14 years Venlafaxin and i had no benefit from them. Thanks again for advocating for mental health!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch this episode! And thank you for sharing a little bit of your mental health journey! Hypomanic episodes look different for everyone- they can include feelings of euphoria, dysphoria, excitement, anger, elation, irritability, and ....despite bringing bursts of energy and a decreased need for sleep.... hypomanic episodes can absolutely lead to tiredness and exhaustion! In future episodes, we will be discussing hypomania in more detail. Be on the lookout for episode 05 ( coming October 7th, 2020!) - in that episode, Shaley details the hypomanic episode that ultimately resulted in her reaching out for help! Thanks again for your support of our vlog! Wishing you all the very best!

@@thisisbipolar Thank you so much for your kind and helpfull answer!! This sheds some light on my hypomanic episodes. I mainly suffer from depression and the psychiatrist is still not sure if i had hypomania in my young adulthood. I really appreciate your help and work . You both are great role models and i love the detailed and authentic explanaition of you experiences!

Eating disorders are often run alongside with bipolar

I felt so validated when my therapist told me this. I kept bringing up the binge eating when depressed and he continued to dismiss it. I felt so much shame about it. I am so grateful my meds help. I don't deal with it very much at all anymore but am very aware when disordered thought and behaviour around eating appear.. Thanks for watching and commenting.
