    Such an awesome kind man. Success never went to his head. He never forgot where he came from. Nobody fought harder for and wanted the contestants to win more than Richard Dawson did on Match Game as well as Family Feud. He really wanted people to win the money and have better lives. He truly cared.

      Michael Parris You can speak for yourself. I feel sorry for you. And for all the people who believe that everyone is racist. I was raised to judge people by how they treated others. And majority of people are the same way. But the elite are the ones who need us divided. Cause if we ever unite, we would realize who our enemy is, and stop them. But it is written. So it will be. But it won't stop me from appreciating kind people

    I've always noticed something classy, smart, witty, and noble about Richard Dawson ever since I've been watching him on television. The way he spoke, his sartorial style, the way he carried himself and treated the Family Feud contestants and guests: he enthralled and earned my respect and admiration. He's one of the few best game hosts in the industry that was not all about Hollywood and showtime culture.
    His poignant profound parting words in his retirement have just confirmed my impressions of the man. His mother raised him well. Lucky and blessed family.
    RIP, Mr. Richard Dawson. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

      They were, I remember it well. What do you think Trump means with "make America great again"? Well he's talking about things like this where people were more thoughtful and when America was leading the world in technology and innovation. That pioneering spirit, back when things used to say "made in America" and not China. Sadly the media mocks him and turns it into something that the message isn't. The young people of today never knew that America, that world. If they had, they'd want it back. Instead of being the best, todays youth seem to want America to be at the bottom and to fail. They have no patriotism. The people of the past had all these things. Richard Dawson loved America so much he left this country of England and earned his citizenship and became American. He even adopted an American accent as evidenced by this video clip.

    • @m42037
      @m42037 5 років тому +11

      clemsonbloke I'm sure he still loved England this is nonsense. England is beautiful, all the old country's are! My family tree is from Poland, Ireland and Germany, and i love Europe as much as America. I've been to Germany six times and Palma twice, have you been to Europe? Richard was a great man always loved him. He left us too soon as did Johnny Carson, the king of Monologue!

      That speech. Wow. Beautiful.
      The kissing thing bothered my parents. Me too, for another reason.
      I was worried about him getting herpes, which was the famous pre-AIDS disease of the time, not smooching black chicks.
      But then again, this white boy had a crush on Roxie Roker from The Jeffersons back then.

      I remember Richard's "comeback" in 1994. It was sad to see a much-heavier, barely audible Richard Dawson trying to go home again but the producers thought it would be a great idea and talked him into it.

    Such wonderful sentiments. I watched Mr. Dawson on Family Feud for years on TV as a young man & I always enjoyed the show. And I now see why I enjoyed it so much. Mr. Dawson was uniquely a truly genuine human being who embraced and loved people freely. As as African American, I marveled at how he'd hug and kiss with affection, African American gals on the show without hesitation or pretense at all. My mom also enjoyed the show very much as well. Mr. Dawson made EVERYONE, no matter their race, color, creed, etc., feel WELCOME being on that show! His energy, happiness & good nature was contagious & infectious. Sometimes it appeared he'd fallen in love with all of the families on the show. Mr. Dawson was truly one of a kind. Cheers to Richard Dawson!

    Gary Dawson was in my drama class at University High school in W LA , Gary did a skit with a tape recorder that had everyone on the floor laughing, his fathers sense of humor was evident! Gary was a really cool guy too, not stuck up or conceited , just a regular guy.

    What an honest and loyal man. I remember when he stepped in and took over when Ray Coombs committed suicide. He did it at a moment's notice while the show looked for a new host, then left just as quietly. That right there tells you all about the quality of his character.
