I can't thank you enough for making this video. It was quite a journey getting my Rodecaster pro to work with the atem mini pro iso and mix effect app. We just recorded our first episode using this set up and it worked perfectly!!! I am so grateful. Thank you! This changed my life lol. Pro grade episodes without needing more people to make it happen. One file spit out ready to go.
Hello Elliott, just came from visiting your channel, great content on Ep #25 Radical Relating!. So I have a question. How did you end up connecting your Rodecaster and Atem to work together, that's the one piece I was going to ask _tographer. FYI I would like to implement the use of OBS as I will be switching to certain "slides / video clips" as part of my podcast. Thank you in advanced!
@@NamarasaPodcast what is your setup? You will not be able to split the microphones, but you can pan them either left or right. You can also use your headphones out to send different mixes to mic 1 input and mic 2 input. If you have a PC or MAC, you can connect rodecaster pro 2 to OBS with ASIO and use obs to cut the cameras in ATEM based on mic level just like MixEffect, but with much more adjustments.
I don't normally leave comments but this video has help tremendously. I personally had trouble getting my mini pro iso to switch between feeds using mix effect. my set up is rode pod mics connected to zoom H4n through xls audio out through the 3.5mm line plugged into mic 1. using the split audio feature I was able split the two mics signals to Left & right allowing Mix effect to see each signal as stereo instead of mono to trigger the switcher. not sure why the mono signal didn't trigger the switch, but that small detail in your video made a HUGE difference for me. Thank you!!!
Hello sir, so my current set up is Rodecaster + Atem + OBS (the reason I'm using OBS is to insert Slides and or video clips that will relate to the podcast as its being recorded. Questions: 1. I have my Rodecaster & Atem pluged into my mac and then my sources into OBS, how do I then connect and or use MixEffect into the mix? Q#2: Can Mix Effect recognize the Audio inputs coming in from the Rodecaster Pro? if so how. not sure if you have any YT links you can recommend that would show me how to best utilize all these tools together. thanks
I have the same exact question. I gave thumbs up to your comment. I hope he response to your question. In my situation I can do away with OBS but my main audio comes from Rodecaster and goes into Atem Mini. But I wonder if Mixeffect will work with just one audio input into the Atem.
@@abdimalik-tech it would appear that I’ll end up taking the ATEM ISO recording of the Backed PROGRAM feed with all its Supersource effects and then in Premiere bring both Rode recordings and ATEM program file and mesh them together.
I’m glad I found this video no one else was talking about this thanks you have a new subscriber just wanted to know why you chose the atem pro over the iso happy new year
I am having alot of trouble getting the video follows audio function to work. I have tried my best to trouble shoot it. Does anyone know of any good guides to help?
Hi, loved this! Exactly what I was looking for. Right now am using the MEVO Go, but since it's just me and my guest... I am talking and switching at the same time. I loved this!! The only question I have, how do you phyisically hooked everything? Are the microphones hooked up to each camera? Or to the ATEM Mini? I don't understand that part, but am ready to purchase both the mini and the app... I just purchased the ipad pro 12.9. can you help?
Thanks for posting this! Great set up! Question: If I wanted to stay on the two shot that gets triggered when there's silence, is there footage of that camera that is saved so I can use Resolve to extend it. Basically, are there individual exports of each of the cameras so if I wanted to, I could "re-edit" it? Thanks in advance!
GREAT SETUP... But... my current setup is my podcast microphone audio goes to Rodecaster Pro and then is sent to the Atem Mini. I do not have my podcast microphones connected direct into my cameras. Is there away to use MixEffect with this setup?
Stupid question, I guess you need the ATEM to be connected via USBC to the computer for the software to control it, so then how do you record to a drive if the USBC is taken? Or you also record it on the computer
This is dope, will probably try to replicate it soon-ish in my own studio. Question: the atem mini can only record a down-mix of the audio channels, correct? I have a four mic setup and was wondering if I still have to record that separately to get the individual tracks?

I have the same setup, Atem ISO and Rodecaster pro 2. How do you get Mix Effect to cut to the camera based on Rodecaster?
how did you do it because rodecaster only connects in via 3.5mm in for me... and its just "MIC 1" ... how do you split them into 3 audio lines?

ISO is better but more expensive, use whichever fits your budget

Yes if you buy one of the Atem boards with the “ISO” feature. That will record each hdmi feed separately.
using OBS software, can I activate the automatic camera switch, using three OBSBOT Tiny 2 cameras connect to a Mac Mini via USB C?
Thanks for this, exactly what I was looking for.
Yes, I have the pro version another free version but for some reason VFA does not show bummer
Strange…
Cool idea. Thanks for putting this tutorial together.
What device are u using for u microphone. Trying to figure out the split channel on input 3
It works only on Apple devices? What about Windows or Android?
Thank you so much for this I will definitely try this out!
It’s weird, it’s showing AFV instead of VFA. Any ideas of how to switch that?
Are you using the MixEffect app? It should be there above your master track control on the Audio tab.
Is there a android version
@@albadrialiI don't think so
How are your mics connected? From what I can tell connected directly to camera?
Correct, XLR to Camera
Where are the mics connected to
Camera XLR

did you get an answer for this?
This is something I was wondering about, too. I suppose you’d have to have the audio interface running in multichannel mode for this to work

I connect to the computer with Ethernet
Hi, where are you plugging your headset to and do you have a ssd in you atem mini pro
Can you set it up to automatically switch between 4 people on a podcast?
Yes if you have 4 mics on 4 different audio channels
Stupid question here. Do you run your mics and headphones into a board and the board to the cameras? If so how is that connected and what boards?
No, for this setup the mics are straight into camera
Hey, thank you for your video. I have this MixEfect pro plugging, but I only get AFV not VFA any idea what it could be? thank you!
Do you have the free version? I think you might have to pay for the pro one
You have to enable it if you don’t see
Could You show how you coonect and sync mics with camera using atem?
For this setup it’s just XLR right into the camera
