    LOVE the final look! What size of soft boxes did they send you vs what would’ve been the ideal size you were looking to use in this setup?

      Hahaha thanks!
      I’ve had ALOT more time to really dial in my home office setup, so it does make sense that it’d look better 😂

    This is perfect timing as I’ll be shooting some podcasts for the first time in the near future. I’ve been searching like crazy for a video showing a cinematic podcast setups and these lighting techniques are so often overlooked for podcasts but so worth it for the end result! Nice work. Love the name of the podcast by the way. Wish you the best!

    This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a similar small room setup and was searching for the right lighting look but everyone else had massive studios or large rooms to work with. You guys nailed it! Amazing job! Earned a sub!

    Great video Anthony! I've been looking for some ideas on how to light a podcast my son is doing and this is the kind of look I'm going for. Our podcast will generally have two hosts sitting across a table from two guests. Would you advice just duplicating the exact same lighting setup for the opposite side of the room or do think that would create too much light bleed?

    • @AnthonyRodriguezz
      @AnthonyRodriguezz  Місяць тому

      Yes!
      If you are sitting at a table I would suggest to have a lantern softbox boomed overhead instead of the two softboxes as your subjects will be much closer.
      Just make sure they lantern is not directly in between them but slightly behind their line of sight

    how about a big 120 lantern above you, instead of these softboxes? it would be way more easier to install and it would still look awesome

    • @AnthonyRodriguezz
      @AnthonyRodriguezz  3 місяці тому +1

      @@zeljkotodorovic8193 it would work, yes.
      But then you’d have to figure out how to keep the light from spilling all over the background that’s really close to the subject and you’d still have to figure out hairlights now for both your subjects.
      It would be beneficial for a large group that has a deeper room.

    I see lightning mood to be a personal thing when it comes to podcasts but under normal circumstances, in my opinion, I don't feel the lighting should be moody or cinematic, it's a Podcast so it should be well-lit, nothing should be cinematic about youtube video or content creating. it's not going to the cinema like I said people want to explore. thank you for sharing your idea.

    • @AnthonyRodriguezz
      @AnthonyRodriguezz  2 місяці тому +1

      While I agree that lighting is a personal preference situation, I’d have to disagree with you on not having podcasts look “cinematic”.
      There’s a slight misconception here that cinematic means moody. The other misconception is that flat lighting means it’s “well-lit”.
      The point of the video is to emphasize lighting your subjects in a certain way and shooting on the shadow side. The contrast ratios and amount of shadow you decide to have is up to you and the emotion you’re trying to convey with you podcast. You can have a high key podcast and still shoot shadow side. The only difference is it will be WAY more visually appealing than just lighting everything from the front.
      I completely understand where you’re coming from though!
