Coop looking great, have you thought about putting it on to rolling wheels so it can be moved as needed to greener grass areas ?? Feeding the chickens with a nutritious and diverse diet by placing the coop in different locations results in the production of better quality eggs. The chicken meat will also have a better flavor. Moving the coop around the yard keeps the grass trimmed as chickens eat it as part of their diet. Because the chickens are moved to a new pasture spot frequently, the requirement for pre-mixed foods is reduced. The natural growth in the garden helps to supplement the diet of your chickens. A portable chicken coop is frequently built without a floor, eliminating major cleaning. The birds deposit their dropping directly onto the ground making it more fertile. The coop occupies only a small area on the yard. This gives time for the garden to fully re-grow before the chickens feed on that patch again. The feeding chickens do their bit by digging and scratching the soil and prepare it for seeds that can be planted. These actions also help to enhance the growth of the existing plants and crops. I am a farmer in north central Namibia. I farm with Brahman cattle and breed Arabian horses. Our farm is 8 000ha and I must say, for the most part (except the trees) the landscape in central Portugal looks more or less the same as here. We also have big fires and droughts here. I can't imagine doing something else then to be a farmer ❤️

Memory foam mattresses are the worst! I have a fractured spine and had to get rid of the mattress. Literally you have to climb out of the mattress. Good luck with that one.

Congrats on running water. Soon hot water. Bed, mattress and new lights. Plus wood from 5 acre property for house heat. Moving animals soon. Eventually clearing the 5 acre property, then for sale. May want to consider elevating the chicken coop 6" -10" above ground. Minimize dampness, flooding, wood rot. Use foundation blocks/stone. Build a base. Fill with sand and rock. Cover with plastic, wire mesh. Lay existing coop on top. Add a hook or strap to secure open hatch access when fully open.

Congrats on running water. Soon hot water. Bed, mattress and new lights. Plus wood from 5 acre property for house heat. Moving animals soon. Eventually clearing the 5 acre property, then for sale.
May want to consider elevating the chicken coop 6" -10" above ground. Minimize dampness, flooding, wood rot. Use foundation blocks/stone. Build a base. Fill with sand and rock. Cover with plastic, wire mesh. Lay existing coop on top. Add a hook or strap to secure open hatch access when fully open.
