Output to "ASIO". Played with a recording for hours but couldn't get any playback sound. Switched to ASIO and that did it. This is the only video that showed that. Thanks.
I just downloaded Waveform to use with my Tascam Model 12. I got it to recognize the Model 12 but it's only showing 2 in and 2 out. I was hoping to see 8 in and 8 out. Just started going through it last night and then I was getting tired and decided to hang it up and tackle it today sometime between running errands and chores on my day off. I bought Beringer studio mons and that came with the OEM offer. Currently using it on my 2011 iMac but also will be putting it on my 2020 HP gaming laptop running an AMD Ryzen 5 chip. I'm excited to use Waveform. Back in 2001 I used Samplitude to record an album and it worked surprisingly well given there was Protocols, Cakewalk etc back then also. I often find using these lesser known but well written DAW software provides just as good, if not better results than the popular well known brands.
Diff between the Mackie and the Tascam is you have to put it into DAW mode since it has a built in recorder also which the Mackie doesn't have since it's just the board.
Nice video. I have the Mackie ProFX12v3+, but I wonder if I also need an audio interface to hear the audio. If so, how many inputs/outputs are needed to record a band?
Forgive me, but I don't understand your question. The mixer itself acts as the audio interface. You can hear the audio via external speakers, USB into a computer or the headphone out jack. The answer to your question about the band depends on how many members/instruments/vocals need to be mixed. I'm not an expert on how you would mix a band that needed more inputs/outputs than the mixer has. Sorry if that's not helpful.
Thank you for the video! My only question....is it possible to record multiple tracks simultaneously? Basically, instruments are plugged into 3-6 (mono) and 9-10 (stereo) on my pro16v3. I'm looking to get them all to record at the same time, but so far I have not seen a guide (even from Mackie) explaining how this can be done.
@@joeyritter Thank you for responding! Is that only for Waveform? I'm praying there is some way I can do this as I perform live and want to capture the nuance of that specific performance.
Bro , I notice the levels on your Mackie mixer (main meters) do not go very high. The same with mine. Did you ever investigate why?I thought mine was busted... I have to drive the gain so hard to get them anywhere near peaking. Very strange
Literally just got the Mackie profx12v3 and I'm so glad I found a video that isn't super long. Just started hope it helps.. How do you like the Mackie pro12v3? It's my first mixer but from all the reviews I've seen and what it can do it seems amazing especially for the relatively cheap price. Problem: When I put ASIO as my audio device type, I get NONE of that under it..
I'm loving it, zero complaints on the mixer. On your question -- did you go through that set up video that I posted in the description? Your mixer should be powered on, USB'd into your computer.
@@joeyritter Yes I finally got it. Thanks so much man. Only problem I'm having now is I gotta figure out how to hear the audio lol. I plugged my headphones into my computer (reg headphone jack) and plugged it into my mixer with converter that I can use to plug my reg headphones into so I can lug them into my mixer and I don't hear the audio anywhere... I figured out how to do it in audacity but can't seem to get it down in waveform..
Hello I'm not sure to have understood. I've the mackie profx16v3. On the track 3 the microphone and on 15-16 the computer. What the combination of 1-2, 3-4, LR or solo buttons that i need to press on the two tarcks and sub 1-2 to listen the computer and the microphone through the headphones but recording the microphone only? Thankyou very much
Can you record the track on the computer, volume and eq with the knobs on the mixer. Example if I have all my tracks on the computer, can I adjust the volume on one channel and the software reacts the same?. Does the software functions simultaneously with the mixer. Turn up one channel on mixer, does it show on the software?
I use a super old version of what is now called Waveform, what I have is Trackttion T4, if you wanna hear some recordings ive done using it check out the songs "Something" and "Behind", on my YT channel. I LOVE the software because 1st you can get the last version of the software for FREE, 2nd it actually teaches you how to use it as you use it. 3rd, it has everything you need to see and use one one page! 4th, it sounds incredible and is easy to use and accepts VST's with ease. I am about to order the same mixer except the new v3+ one
Does this mixer record all tracks separately? I'm in a band and we need a mixer and an audio interface at the same time. Does it fit well in your opinion ? I was thinking about buying the ZOOM LiveTrak L12, but I also find interesting the TASCAM Model 12.
@@joeyritter i retraced the steps you said after I took a break from it! i got it to work, but it was a bit disappointing. you can only multitrack from channels 1 and 2 😕

I just got a Mackie profx 10 with that software.
I like your mixer table. Brilliant.

Can you connect it into regular ProTools
Yes, I'm 99.9999 sure you can, but I don't have Pro Tools. There was no tutorial for this specific software, which is why I made it.

If you're asking if you can record multiple tracks at once that can be mixed independently of each other... the answer is unfortunately no 😕

Why not to press the LR in 11 12 channel?
Because if you are recording a new track while other tracks are playing back... your new recorded track will have the other tracks recorded with it.

Why doesn’t the main XLR Outs work?
I'm not sure if you're referring to XRL outs to use speaker monitors or to hook to the laptop.

It does not :/
That would be incredible if it did.
If you want a Mackie mixer that does multitrack you have to upgrade to the Onyx series.
I have an Onyx which Can record multitracks but only on a daw. Not on the SD card like the Tascam model

Not being able to explain why you're telling people to do the things you're telling them to do is classic sign of "the blind leading the blind."
You’ll thank yourself in the future not getting a Mac. I promise.
I don't know about that!! Waveform crashes every time I open this one Edit and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't happen on a Mac.
