GregintheBox hi there,i always watch your video about gadget tutorial,i just wanted to ask how can i connect this mixer to any mobile phone?your answer is highly apreciated.
hi there. you would have to purchase an interface made specifically for that purpose. the iRig Pro Duo 2, or the Roland Go Mobile Pro. check those out.
Great explanation. I have a question if possible. I saw in your video that you were using external sources of sounds such as a guitar or a tablet. But If I want to use the same computer as a source of instrumental music, then I will mix it with my voice singing and finally, I will send the mix back to the computer for recording purposes or for live streaming. Is it possible with the ProFX6v3?
This is more for PC. I have a Mac and dont have sound coming from mixer to FB for some reason. I have outputs and inputs set to my profX mixer but no sound coming in on FB live or photo booth. I can hear youtube videos but no sound when connect to FB live even tho it is connected as audio source in FB. I also see No drivers for mac? In lost lol
Hi GregintheBox, I just bought this mixer for my wife who is wanting to potentially use it for a podcast, but the very first thing she wants to use it for is to lead meditations. That is, she wants to speak into a mic but also 1) mix in (and hear) background music and 2) hear the participants on the call. I think I found out how to do this: using 1/8 jack (from phone or other audio producing device) to RCA (line 3 and 4) but I was trying to make use of both USB stereo outputs to achieve this goal. So I am confused by your recommendation of selecting USB 3/4 as the output for the Zoom call (i.e. the participants) because USB 3/4 appears to be routed to the mix (along with the other inputs) but I am unable to monitor on the headphone output. Pointing my computer/Zoom to USB 1-2 allows me to hear the participants and the rest of the inputs. In Summary: @ 19:10, you mention you can adjust the volume of your audience in zoom/headphones but it seems like USB 3-4 isn't routed to the headphone output. It is routed to the mix (i.e. back into the zoom call). I can play a youtube video and if I select USB 1-2, I hear it in my monitoring headphones but participants don't. If I select USB 3-4, participants hear the video, but I do not hear it. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for this detailed video.
Many months ago I asked him for the same issue. He never knew how to fix this. Sad to see a tutorial that should help people to setup ProFx onto Zoom but realisticaly what you get is a call without a possibility to hear back your people lol I mean, they can hear you and themselves too like a infinite loop LOL
Greg - very useful video! I have one question for you. You've got USB 3-4 coming through (on mixer channels 5-6) so that you can hear the other participants in your Zoom call, but that source will also be mixed into what's being sent to the computer as well, right? (Because, as far as I can tell, the main mix that you're hearing in your headphones is also the very same mix that is being sent via USB to the "Line (proFX)" input on your computer. Is that the reason that in your Zoom audio settings you left the echo cancellation enabled? But what if I don't want the other Zoom participants to hear the various other alert sounds from my computer? There's no way to make sure that I can hear them in my headphones while preventing them from being sent out on my stream, is there? (Short of adding a second mixer just for the headphone mix...)
You were using USB output 3-4 on the PC in order to use the volume control, but I had been assuming that the USB output 3-4 acts as a loopback, so that you can record your PC output, which is not what you'd want on a Zoom call, right? Am I misunderstanding how it works? I had actually been thinking this would be great so I could have my voice call go to USB output 1-2 so it doesn't loop back, but then I could have a backing track play on USB output 3-4 and loop back to my voice call so I could sing over a backing track and have the call hear it without hearing their own voices as an echo. Is that not how it works?
Oh last thing, really love how you explain things because I am a “ plug and play” person and so it’s really helpful to have somebody like you because there are people that say they could teach but it doesn’t mean they’re a teacher you are definitely a teacher thank you
Great video with some clear explanations on how the audio mixer works. Is there a particular way to set up the 3/4 USB option for receiving audio from your computer into the mixer to hear through headphones without causing others to hear themselves on social media applications? I am currently experiencing the issue of my friends being able to hear themselves speak due to the mixer outputting their microphones to them!
Hi Greg thanks for this post, I just bought one and it was shipped last night🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻. I just have a question, can I use the effects for the vocal and guitar at the same time? If this is possible, how do I set it up? I tried but it seems like whatever effects I use, it will do the same for both😔. Let's say I want to use the delay/reverb for the vocals and I want to use the chorus for the guitar, how can make it work? Will you please help me out? Thank you☺️
It is an awesome and affordable tool for online adventures and recording. Internal mixers usually only allow for one fx bus and that one effect can receive a send from the different tracks. So sadly you can’t have spectate fx for different tracks. One choice for the whole mix. I would recommend using separate fx unit or pedals for the guitar before it connects to the mixer. Then you can choose a vocal effect and keep the mixer fx off on the guitar. Using pedals etc for guitar effects. Best of luck it’s a fun little unit.
Thank you Greg for sharing! It is always so impressive to see people who, despite all their daily hassles, manage to find motivation and want to share their knowledge and experiences (take for granted that it's not just about money). It doesn't matter whether the subject is of my interest or not, there is always something you can learn if it's well planned, structured, and presented.
Great video - works fine with Windows 10 but I cannot get the main output sent to MacBook Pro via a USB cable. Any ideas why? MacBook shows it as ProFx and I can also play a note on a keyboard I have connected to the mixer and the Garageband tuner identifies the note. But when I start recording, and play the keyboard, no signal is going to the MacBook.
The best ProFx6v3 tutorial! EVER! Is it compatible with Mac ? I mean, if I hook it up to a Mac, do I have the same line profx setup option in Zoom or Facebook Live?
Thanks Kevin, If you mean a Mac Laptop or desktop then yes. exactly the same. it’s not compatible with mobile devices of course, but there are other cool pieces of tech that will help with that.
Thank you Greg! It help me a lot to choose what mixer to buy between a Berinhger, soundtrack and this Mackie … At the beginning I didn’t understand very well how the nudes 3/4 and 3/5 works, but after you explanation could understand so much better to take a decition
Greg thanks. I got a Zoom H6 audio interface. And I have Logic Pro X as audio software. Would it be possible to control those audio channels digitally? So throught the Logic Pro X software? That is on a mac. But probably you have DAWs like Logic Pro X for Windows also. Adding those reverbs via the DAW should be possible, I think. Also I got a midi controller which is connected to the DAW. Could you do an episode where you connect a DAW and stream via Zoom or Facebook? And using a midi controller keyboard? Thanks. You already upped my game!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Can someone help please?! I have Connected two Balanced Output Speakers and a Mic. So my problem here is, that I hear my Mic through the Speakers and it doesn't matter if it is USB 1-2 or USB 3-4. Its like a direct Monitoring and i dont know how to fix it. Sorry, if this is a Stupid question but im kinda new. thanks for the help
Excellent video. I really like this method of explaining things. It's an audiovisual way that fits my brain better. It's also quick and just detailed enough.
Good evening: I acquired this equipment but I can't in any way take the audios from the USB channels (3-4 and 1-2) to the MAIN-OUT. I can only get it for PHONES. Did it come defective? Thank you very much.
Are the USB 1/2 and USB 3/4 only for monitoring purposes (from the PC)?? ...or can any of them go back along with the mix towards the Main Outs, including Usb L/R Out?? Thanks in advance. The buttons are driving me crazy, I want to avoid loop or delay on Zoom
I bought the Mackie ProFX6v3 primarily because of this video! I want to perform with a metronome (i.e. an app on my phone... which has a USB-C connection) but I don't want my audience to hear the click... is this possible? How? Thank you (again!)
Any idea how to solve latency issues with monitoring the I/O of the USB? I just started getting familiar with the profx12v3 and was doing some test recording and the analog signals have some serious latency, the vocal sounds robotic to severely delayed, the digital audio track playing seems to be just fine (setting buffer down to 8 samples cleans up most of it) I am just wondering if maybe I missed a knob or a button somewhere to clean it up. ( recording using waveform, haven't tried to monitor a live stream test yet) also does your mackie have a problem with the pan bleeding through or not panning fully? when i pan left for one track to record, and the other track right, they seem to still send a small amount of signal to the other side, enough to be seen on the meters and heard on the recording. other than those 2 issues, I am thoroughly impressed with the sound quality of the mixer, really looking forward to running the pa with it and recording/live stream. would have been really cool if they would have split up the assignments of 1-2 for each channel to eliminate the need to pan. I have been using an old spirit fx8 and while it worked well, not having the option to properly monitor the signal the PC sees made it tough to set up. It would sound great on the mix to the headphones or FOH, but the playback would be crap. The price was right for the mackie vs getting a multichannel sound card (s) for the pci slots and a second mixer to handle and monitor the direct outputs to each channel.
sir what settings can i use when recordnig/live streaming on youtube using OBS. i tried but the my voice were cannot be heard. all the adjustments wer done but no to avail. can you teach me sir?
You are a great help!! In respect to the Mackie mixer - ProFX 6v3. I want to use this mixer with XLR input for sound. But not the Logitech 250 (confusing input sounds I think). I am using zoom and its proper setups for musical instruments. The sound I am getting, it sound like I am in a tunnel and the recorded volume is much lower than expected. I am using Realistic speakers. Do I have to get rid of the Logitech 250? and better speakers? Would I get the same results, no matter what mixer board I used? Thank You for your comments
Thank you! I'll play my tracks through my phone. Another question: I don't like the way I look in headphones hen doing a Zoom performance. I have my piano and my condenser mic hooked up to my Mackie ProFV10v3 mixer, and Iphone for backing tracks. Is there any way to use the same set up without wearing headphones?
Hi I am going to purchase the mackie profx6 mixer. I want to video myself singing. How do I huck up to the iPad. I’ve tried stereo Jack outputs left and right to mini Jack into sc4 then into iPad. It doesn’t work. Thanks Vin
great vid. im having issues thought. when i am in a discord call or game chat with others, they can hear everything that I can hear from my desktop - (i.e. if i am playing music from spotify, they can hear it) can anyone please help me fix this problem ! :) thank you
In addition to monitor headphones, what about PA speakers so the large physical audience can hear the virtual audience? Is that feasible and can you fit that in this configuration?
Good morning Greg, I am very happy with my Mackie, but when I tried using my Iphone XR to do live streaming on facebook, the clarity and the effects were clear on my studio monitor but after doing the live stream and did a playback, I was very disappointed!😔, Although I can hear my vocals and my guitar, the effects were not present on the live feed, did I do something wrong with my set up? I use a lightning cable to connect my mackieprofx6 v3 to my iphone. I hope you can help me out, thanks much Greg and take care.
Hi Edwin - So first the obvious things to check on the mixer. Make sure the "FX" button for each channel is pushed in. Make sure the Stereo Pan button is out (up). That's the button with 1L on one side and 2R on the other. It should be off for live streaming as you are describing. Make sure the "FX To Main" knob is up a fair bit. OK, now, I will say that the testing I did and the video was done for USB connection to a PC or MAC laptop etc. So I can't say for sure if its not something related to using it with a lighting cable and a mobile device. The FX are going to my Zoom or live streaming as they should. I would test your mixer with a desktop or laptop computer. An easy test is to use Zoom or some other video conferencing software to call a friend and see how the effects sound on their end. If it works on a regular computer then at least you know you are and mixer are doing everything right. Let me know how it works out. Best of luck my friend.
Thank you Greg -- totally new to this. After months of frustration with another interface device, I bought the Mackie ProFX6 based on your video, took notes on your step by step instructions and will hopefully get me up and running for tomorrow's live Zoom/Facebook event. Could this be the key to a whole new world....we'll see. Best, JK Jones
Great tutorial Greg ❤️🎶💐 i loved and learned a lot .. planning to buy this mixer ..can you suggest it and please guide me how can I do live streaming on UA-cam FB etc by my smartphone ❤️ from India
Hi Greg, nice informative video. I have just ordered this mixer, thanks to you. I was just wondering with regards to using Zoom and the USB 3 & 4 Audience return channel. Is there a way of hearing them through my output speakers as opposed through headphones? Or is just a case of plugging in speakers into the headphone jack in order to hear them on USB 3 & 4? Thanks in advance.
You can certainly use the main outs, but be aware that you ideally don't want that sound being picked up by your microphone and folded back into the mix again. Its doable but is not the ideal scenario. Best of luck. its a fun unit.
Does this connect to a pc via usb as the sole output and when talking into a mic the sound can be heard via the pc speakers? Or does it need one of the other outputs to be connected to separate amp/speaker? Thanks
You just saved my life. I have this unit for a month now and after watching this video i finally got it working on FB Live. Thanks a lot. You explain it excellently. More power to you.
Hello - and THX - and please allow me a question: I'm in the need to record in Logic X two different tracks simultaneously: Track 1 (MONO) from mixer chan 1 (=XLR) and Track 2 (Stereo) from mixer chan 3+4 (6mm). IS THIS POSSIBLE...???
sorry, no it’s not. the mixer has 1-2 input signals. think of it as 1 stereo or 2 mono signals, and it has 2 Stereo returns. 1/2 and 3/4. these exist because the way they return to the mixer allows for different uses and monitoring setups.
Hi. Mr. Greg..I noticed Mackie FX6V3 doesn't have a one knob compressor. Question is. Do I really need a compressor?. Planning to use this on zoom and Fb live. I appreciate your answer. Any suggestions?
I love a little compression, specially for singing. Or voice over work. If you can afford the next size up from this mixer, I believe it’s the 10v3, it has a comp on the first two channels.
Hello sir im new with all these gadgets how do i record myself singing using this profxv6 using my cellphone? Which plug will i insert from profx to my cellphone?
Hi there, well connecting this mixer to a computer will always be a better solution, but it is possible to connect to a mobile device. This is usually a tablet or IPAD. I can't be sure it works with cell phones. Now when it comes to cell pone, the port used to connect such things, will be different depending on the model of the cell phone. so can't offer much more unless i know the type of cell you have. An Iphone for example might be a USB B to Lightening cable. No guarantee without more info. For recording, id suggest a proper computer, not a mobile device. But good luck, it is possible.
Dear Greg, Your video is awesome! Just what I need, but I have a few more questions. I am on a Facebook Live show hosted by someone else. There are eight other performers. We all join through a Zoom link. You have shown me how to set up the mixer with a guitar. However, I use a digital keyboard pushed up in front of my desktop. Where do I plug that in? I see how to connect a separate mic and not use the one built into my Logitech webcam. However, sometimes I use backing tracks instead of keyboard. Our Facebook Live host has us click on Screen sharing so that our backing tracks come through. You do not mention this step. Please explain. Also do I need to have my backing tracks on my Iphone instead of having them on my desktop? Thank you for explaining everything so clearly!!!!!
I would say that it’s very risky to try and play back tracks on the same pc as is running Zoom. The only realistic way is to use an app that does internal patching routing like VB-audio Banana. This is not for the techno faint of heart. So it’s much easier to use a separate device, phone, second laptop etc, and feed it into the mixer and from there into the Zoom pC.
hi there. there are any possible fixes, to the quickest and easiest to try is this. Reduce the “buffer size”. this setting would be found in the endriver setting for the mixer or the recording software you are using. Google it specific to your software and setup if it’s not easily found. the trick is that it’s a balancing act. lower buffer setting makes the Pc work harder and you’ll some times get clicks or pops (not part of the recording just the computer attempting to do the processing, and failing). but the lower buffer setting will certainly reduce latency. it just depends on how small of a setting your pc can handle. older, less powerful pcs won’t be able to handle really lower buffer size settings. as for the latency in general, you might want to consider that you could be doing software based monitoring , when infact you should be attempting to use ‘direct’ monitoring. direct monitoring is very possible with the mackie profx
GregintheBox Thanks for your response Greg! On Audacity I was able to fix it by going to Preferences - Devices. The buffer length was set at 100 milliseconds And the Latency Compensation at -130. I set the Latency Compensaron to - 180 milliseconds and worked like a charm!
Hello Greg, thanks for this great video. I noticed that there are only two XLR connections. What if we needed two mics (2 singers) and perhaps a keyboard and and guitar that needed to be added on... are there splitters? Or is there a need for a different kind of mixer? We are going to be doing an online concert with multiple singers and instrumentals as well as karaoke tracks. Sounds like a lot I know but I'd appreciate your help on this. Thanks.
I actually have the Mackie ProFX10v3. It perfect chord a duo gig. Two vocals, two instruments, and still space to hook up your phone. And all the same features as this smaller one. More actually, It also has Compression each channel.
hi there, in some cases the right cable can makes some audio interfaces work with some Mobile devices.....notice how many “some” are in this sentence. LOL. I would be more comfortable suggesting an audio interface that is designed to work with mobile devices such as.... amzn.to/3hwejds This said, I’m not a big fan of using mobile devices for live streaming, if pro quality is the goal. A laptop is portable and provides more capability and flexibility. Best of luck my friend.
hello, that’s a difficult choice to make. there are many factors. in truth, the only real difference in quality will be the preamp used. the quality and caliber of the preamp will depend on the price of the unit, more expensive, better mixer in many ways. one of these will be the preamp. so compare the reviews of the preamps in the mixers you are comparing. after that, the presence of good sounding internal effects (echo/reverb), and if the channel strips has compression, should also influence your decision. both of those are valuable for vocals, and almost any recording source really. my personal bias? better a Yamaha and a Jackie mixer of the same price range, I would choose Jackie, for the build quality. but no disrespect to Yamaha. just a preference with small project mixers, that’s all. best of luck.
Really enjoyed the video - silly question; how do i connect 2 x Mics and 2 x Guitars if thats even possible with this mixer? Or is the obvious answer to go for the 10 channel unit?
Its totally worth the step up to the next size of this mixer. A little better control over sfx. You also get some compressors on the first 2 channels which is great for voice etc.
Thx. So : if I have a rode nt usb connected to my computer. I can connect my headset to that mackie. I have 2 studio monitors I can connect to that using xlr I have a dj controller : xlr / 1/4 inch / rca : where to connect I have a small piano for effects : where to connect Is that mackie too small then with connections and need something bigger ? Thx
Hi Greg! Watching from the Philippines here! I tried installing it to may Mac but it won't continue because it says it is incomplete? Am I the only one who's experiencing this on Mac? Also, I'm confused on the part where we'll adjust the 5/6 level to hear from the participants in zoom. Based on my experience, I can only hear them when I push "To Phones" but when I sing I would un-push the "To Phones" to hear myself.
Hello in the Philippines! I'm in Canada. You don't need to use any drivers to use this mixer with a MAC. You should be able to just connect it then go to System Preferences (Under the Apple), In there select SOUND. When that pops up, go to the Output and Input tans and make sure that ProFX is selected. As for the output, you will be able to select ProFX 1-2 or Profx 3-4. This simply indicates where the computer sound comes back on the Mixer. Its a little complicated, but for Live stream performing or performing on Zoom (or what ever vid conf platform) use Profx 3-4 as the output on the MAC, then make sure the USB 3-4 button is in, then make sure the "To Phones" button is off (up). Then you can mix your own mic and instruments etc on Level 1 and 2, and the return from the computer (if needed) on the 5/6 knob. Make sure the Main Level knob on the far right is at 12 oclock, then turn up the Phones knob to your preference. Try that. Best of luck
Hi Greg, Please help me. Do I have to make sure I need to download the Mackie app. I open the Zoom, I cannot see the Pro EX Zoom Mic and Speaker. I use the Macbook, I can see the PRO EX on both areas.
ah, I believe that there is no driver for Mac, i\since the core audio functionality in your Mac does not need drivers to access the mixer as an audio in/out device.
I am a happy owner of this mixer, the Mackie ProFX6v3; I love to sing karaoke and used to record songs connecting this mixer to my laptop. However, it only sends out 2 USB channels. So I now do my recording with an EVO 8 which allows 4 USB channels. I use Cakewalk to record. But that said, unless I'm doing any recording, I continue to enjoy using the Mackie; I love the sound quality of its Mic preamps. The reverb though needs quite some experimentation to get right. Lastly, this Mackie now has fierce competition from a new Yamaha Mixer/Interface, the AG06 Mk 2, just released. It also has 2 USB channels and not 4.
on a PC, yes you’ll need the drivers. On a Mac you don’t need them. I assume your school laptop is PC. So you will have a hard time getting an audio interface to work on it with out the billy to install drivers.
Gets very complicated if you try and use the same computer or device. Im sure there are ways but not easy ways. The best approach is to use a second device such as a cell phone or iPod or laptop as the player and feed that analog headphone output into the line inputs 3/4
Oh I should be more specific I have a Mackie pro EFX 12 V2 mixer One of the questions that Occurs to me is that you aren’t using any streaming source like OBS so you really don’t need that you can go directly to the computer and directly to the the Internet?
Correct, with a USB mixer/or interface, and a webcam style camera, OBS is not required in between with most online platforms. This said, if you are trying to achieve a higher end product with your own overlays or camera switching, or transitions then your are taking a broadcast style product and then something like OBS is required. This said, such setups are complex and can be very demanding on PC resources.
GregintheBox Gregg is there anyway I could get maybe Get a few private lessons from you? I’m one of those plug and play guys I just like to reverify information and it’s very tough for me to learn things I appreciate everything you said I do understand it though I’m getting a better grasp of this but if there was a chance I could ask you a few things as I’m doing it it would be great. Do you know anything about that unit that I have the Mackie pro FX12v2
GregintheBox so I would like to learn a little bit more about how to connect that to the MacBook Pro for a zoom and Facebook and I will again watch your video make sure I integrated very well the other thing I’m looking at is use the same mixer to connect to my iPhone 8 plus which has that USB see connector adapter plugged into the lightning port
A complicated thing to achieve but not impossible. In a normal situation, this would be risky and could result in an internal feedback loop. So usually, USB mixers are designed to avoid this. Many people have success in achieving wat i think you are trying to do, by using a virtual mixer in combination with a audio interface. A good virtual mixer and a free one is: vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm
Hello Greg, you nailed with that video I just boughted a mixer ProFX6v3 but didn't have a clue how to set it up but with your tutorial now I can start playing until I get the sound I want. Thank you really appreciate

How can this be used with a mac or ipad?
Actually I see that it doent need a driver for a mac - however can you address audio set up in zoom on an ipad?
Great explanation. I have a question if possible. I saw in your video that you were using external sources of sounds such as a guitar or a tablet. But If I want to use the same computer as a source of instrumental music, then I will mix it with my voice singing and finally, I will send the mix back to the computer for recording purposes or for live streaming. In lost lol
Hi JD, did you get this sorted out? I have one of these mixers on the way and was wondering the same thing. Ta.
Your RCA line in cables are backwards. You put the red cable into the left line input. Remember that red is for right!
Nice catch. I was going over so much material that I didn't even notice. Thanks.
Thanks Greg. Btw what cord do you use to connect 2019 IPAD to the mixer?
Any help would be appreciated and thanks for this detailed video.
did you ever get that fixed? I'm having an issue here too
Many months ago I asked him for the same issue.
Oh last thing, really love how you explain things because I am a “ plug and play” person and so it’s really helpful to have somebody like you because there are people that say they could teach but it doesn’t mean they’re a teacher you are definitely a teacher thank you
I've been looking for this exact video for a year...thank you
Your vid is pretty good! I add one subs. You will be soon 1k subs. Ha Ha 👍🎈🎈🎈🎈
I came here for the mixer but your super lovely bird took all my attention. So.... ok I am lost now!
She is a sweet little parrot.
Will work for mix and minus?
Great video with some clear explanations on how the audio mixer works. Is there a particular way to set up the 3/4 USB option for receiving audio from your computer into the mixer to hear through headphones without causing others to hear themselves on social media applications? I am currently experiencing the issue of my friends being able to hear themselves speak due to the mixer outputting their microphones to them!
I had the same issue, usb line 1-2 doesn't have an echo but you have to press the "to phone" button in to hear the computers audio
thanks for info im going to buy one sounds good and easy to use I well use it for live performances the effects look good
why dont you say something about a mac setup please
It's basic info. Woow , I have learnt a lot. Thank you sir, see you around in my yt , right here watching da ROMA con AMOR!
@@GregintheBox gotcha, thanks Greg👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. More power to your show🍻
Thank you Greg for sharing! It is always so impressive to see people who, despite all their daily hassles, manage to find motivation and want to share their knowledge and experiences (take for granted that it's not just about money).
It doesn't matter whether the subject is of my interest or not, there is always something you can learn if it's well planned, structured, and presented.
Thanks man. Well said.
Exactly what I needed to know with Zoom. Thank you!
Thanks this video really helps a lot.❤️❤️❤️
Right on.
Excuse me sir but did you know you have a bird on your shoulder
Oh wow, I had no idea! He he. Just kidding that’s my parrot. Her name is Jasper.
Really Awesome!
Thank you I was stuck trying to monitor the audio from my PC and now I can, it's confusing having the 5/6 numbers below the USB 3-4 as you said.
Come scheda audio meglio questo o Yamaha mg10xu? qual è la miglior scheda audio tra i due Mixer? Mi riferisco ai volumi grazie
may you sir make an tutorial using mackie profx6v3 on youtube thru OBS.
HI. is the mixer capable of the mix-minus setup? Thanks a lot.
sir what settings can i use when recordnig/live streaming on youtube using OBS. i tried but the my voice were cannot be heard. all the adjustments wer done but no to avail. can you teach me sir?
Thanks Vin
Thank you very much for this video, you solved all my doubts,I just don't know why my computer doesn't work the 1-2 output of the mixer
How to get to the minutes one on UA-cam

Complete and clear. Thanks.
Great to hear!
Extremely useful review especially for new people like me. Thank you so much🙏🏼
Great video very well explained I’ve just ordered one for £95 on Black Friday sale thanks❤
I'm a little confused here, if you put Zoom audio on USB3-4 does that not get mixed back into the PC and potentially cause feedback?
Your video it's gold, you've helped me a lot man
you’re welcome. best of luck.
Is this can for mac ? How to conncet garageband en mackie ? Tnx
great vid. im having issues thought. when i am in a discord call or game chat with others, they can hear everything that I can hear from my desktop - (i.e. if i am playing music from spotify, they can hear it) can anyone please help me fix this problem ! :) thank you
But you are feeding USB3-4 back to the computer, is that a problem?
I made the mistake of getting one without USB but they exchanged it for a Behringer USB. Is that bad?
Very informative! Thank you.
Why did you not use USB returns 1 and 2:
Thank you for pointing out that the channel 5/6 volume nob is connected to the usb 3/4 button.
Your new fan of your channel here from Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦
Thank you Greg -- totally new to this. After months of frustration with another interface device, I bought the Mackie ProFX6 based on your video, took notes on your step by step instructions and will hopefully get me up and running for tomorrow's live Zoom/Facebook event. Could this be the key to a whole new world....we'll see. Best, JK Jones
Well that's very exciting. Best of luck.
Thank you Greg, that was a great and clear explanation! 👌
Glad it was helpful!
New to electronics. You use both the PreSonus and the Mackie. Which one for what use?
Does this do a mix minus when it sees the mixer is outputting sound and inputting sound through USB? Like a mix minus😊
Great tutorial Greg ❤️🎶💐 i loved and learned a lot .. planning to buy this mixer ..can you suggest it and please guide me how can I do live streaming on UA-cam FB etc by my smartphone ❤️ from India
Awesome. Thank you
Hi Greg, nice informative video.
Thank Sir u done a good job... N help for zoom people those are using..
Does this connect to a pc via usb as the sole output and when talking into a mic the sound can be heard via the pc speakers?
Or does it need one of the other outputs to be connected to separate amp/speaker?
Thanks
How about zoom in ipad? Can you make those review too sir?
Wow nice
Thanks
You just saved my life. I have this unit for a month now and after watching this video i finally got it working on FB Live. Thanks a lot. You explain it excellently. More power to you.
Glad I could help
VERY HELPFUL. THANKS, BRO!
Hi there, i just bought PROFX10 V3 now can you give me a tips how to connect from PIONEER DDJ 1000 TO AMPLIFIER and to the mixer ?
I hope you found a solution by now, but master 1 to the amp, and master 2 to the mixer. or just use a xlr splitter?
Thanks alot a Greg! That was so useful. Love the bird. Keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dear Greg,
Your video is awesome!
Greg, how can I reduce latency while recording with the ProFx6v3 on Audacity (windows PC)
Thanks so much for this video! You have a new subscriber! 🙏🏼
hi there. there are any possible fixes, to the quickest and easiest to try is this.
GregintheBox
Thanks for your response Greg!
On Audacity I was able to fix it by going to Preferences - Devices.
The buffer length was set at 100 milliseconds
And the Latency Compensation at -130.
I set the Latency Compensaron to - 180 milliseconds and worked like a charm!
Excellent
Wow Greg, your really Greg out of the box! Thanks from New Zealand. I liked your guitar voicings..
Thanks man, glad you liked it. you’re welcome from Canada.
pitty they only have high and low knobs - i miss mids
Awesome
Thanks Carlos
@@GregintheBox Hi Greg - Great video!
I was looking at the
Can I also use this mixer to connect directly to my iphone to do live streaming? Thanks!
hi there, in some cases the right cable can makes some audio interfaces work with some Mobile devices.....notice how many “some” are in this sentence. LOL. I would be more comfortable suggesting an audio interface that is designed to work with mobile devices such as.... amzn.to/3hwejds
This said, I’m not a big fan of using mobile devices for live streaming, if pro quality is the goal. A laptop is portable and provides more capability and flexibility. Best of luck my friend.
Not 5/6 for zoom 3 and 4 level knob. 🤝☺️
Nice explanation Greg. I have 1 question, if we have 1 electric piano, which channel should we put in? Channel 3/4 is it?
3/4. Should work. Experiment first before show time of course.
@@GregintheBox thanks!
Dear can u suggest me yamaha or mckie? As u am a singer. Main concern about the voice quality. Which mixer provides best fx for vocal/ singing?
hello, that’s a difficult choice to make. there are many factors. in truth, the only real difference in quality will be the preamp used. the quality and caliber of the preamp will depend on the price of the unit, more expensive, better mixer in many ways. one of these will be the preamp. so compare the reviews of the preamps in the mixers you are comparing. after that, the presence of good sounding internal effects (echo/reverb), and if the channel strips has compression, should also influence your decision. both of those are valuable for vocals, and almost any recording source really. my personal bias? better a Yamaha and a Jackie mixer of the same price range, I would choose Jackie, for the build quality. but no disrespect to Yamaha. just a preference with small project mixers, that’s all. best of luck.
I have 2 studio monitors I can connect to that using xlr
I have a dj controller : xlr / 1/4 inch / rca : where to connect
I have a small piano for effects : where to connect
Is that mackie too small then with connections and need something bigger ? Thx
@@GregintheBox Thank you! I finally realized that it's a plug and play when it comes to connecting it to Mac.
It also has 2 USB channels and not 4.
awesome video thank youuuuuu
Is it just plug and play for iMac ?
BRO... You taught me something I've been struggling with for years! Thanks!
Do you have to download the drivers to use the mixer? It's because I have a school laptop and I'm not allowed to install any 3rd party software.
on a PC, yes you’ll need the drivers. On a Mac you don’t need them. I assume your school laptop is PC. So you will have a hard time getting an audio interface to work on it with out the billy to install drivers.
What about adding background music from spotify or itunes?
Gets very complicated if you try and use the same computer or device. Im sure there are ways but not easy ways. The best approach is to use a second device such as a cell phone or iPod or laptop as the player and feed that analog headphone output into the line inputs 3/4
Oh I should be more specific I have a Mackie pro EFX 12 V2 mixer
One of the questions that Occurs to me is that you aren’t using any streaming source like OBS so you really don’t need that you can go directly to the computer and directly to the the Internet?
So can you use USB from computer to play backing tracks and send to main outs? Thanks
You got things right but kinda got OC over how you have left and right unbalanced in reversed… red is always right
agreed my friend. but when you get one perfect continuous take on camera you gotta keep it. and over look the little oopsy.
Hello Greg, you nailed with that video I just boughted a mixer ProFX6v3 but didn't have a clue how to set it up but with your tutorial now I can start playing until I get the sound I want. Thank you really appreciate
Using RCA cables, they using a 1/4 phono adapter?
Yes 3.5m mini to dual RCA left/right. That said, you can also buy mini 3.5 mill to dual 1/4” ends as well if you’re buying.
