My son plays in Technika Brno and one of his coaches is Matěj Menšík who will play in wbc. It is amazing to see that from such small country you can make such great result, all these guys inspire all small players to be better, they show the way, and this is spirit of baseball game, thx guys and crossing fingers in Tokio 😀

Well Matěj just had himself a huge game against China! Very happy for your country. I am a big baseball fan from Las Vegas. I've been lucky enough to visit Prague on three different occasions, and it's easily one of my favorite places i've been to. Beautiful country with a rich history and culture. I long for some svíčková. Rooting for you guys!
Unlike the other European teams, these guys are all homegrown players, not a bunch of Americans sneaking into national teams cause they happen to have the blood. And for that alone, I'm rooting for them.
the only exception to that rule is Eric Sogard, but yeah you're right. it is awesome to see this is a fully homegrown team from Czechia
They did what we Italians did not have the balls to do. It's hard to root for my country when most of the lineup comes from New Jersey.

I'm Korean and grew up watching professional baseball in Korea. When I lived in Prague, Czech Republic for a year in 2018, I got to see Czech baseball for the first time and it was one of the best things about spending time in the Czech Republic. I cheer for the Korean team more, but I hope the Czech players do well too. Pitcher JAN NOVAK, who often played catch with me during my stay in Prague. Best wishes for his world debut.
i'm Korean Am and i'll be rooting for South Korea of course, but yeah I hope these guys can win one game (just not against Korea please lol). for a bunch of guys who are not professionals...beating a team like China or Australia would still be super impressive
They got nothing to lose... they'won the hearts of people by overcoming huge odds to get to the WBC.. Good luck and may they do their best

I´m Brazilian and i play baseball in my city for 6 straight years. Our country is not qualified in this WBC, but see the Czech Republic team qualified is so amazing, because anyone there is a professional, live with this.
Our country have just some players in professional baseball too, but we have MLB and NPB players in activity, and they are not played in qualifiers in WBC, because they career is more important, and this comprehensible.

Sadly, Ercoli and Zyma struggled against SK. Dubovy didn't play and neither did Schneider. But Cervenka had a good hit against South Korean pitching

This is awesome. I’m rooting for them just for the fact that they are a bunch of local guys working hard and playing baseball hard. I’m American and root for USA but our team is just the best from MLB. I will be rooting for Czech Republic cause they are regular guys that love baseball just like me.

to be fair, every single one of these guys speaks English super well. i doubt you could find 15 people off the street in the U.S. who can speak Czech as well as these guys can communicate in English
@@skippythealien9627 To be fair, I didn’t say anything about these guys not being able to speak English; I think they all have an excellent command of the English language. That doesn’t change the fact that “touchdown” is not a term used in baseball. It’s a cute mistake.

every single team gets a payday for participating in the WBC. That being said, a lot of these guys have careers that everyone would be proud to have: a neurosurgeon, a business analyst, fireman, teacher etc. The money is probably awesome to have, but it's definitely more so the experience of getting to play agianst top pros in Tokyo
