such an awesome job. i look forward to seeing it with the JDM panels and new paint!!!
Love it! My beloved 04 fxt just blew an idler pully...slipped the timing belt. I was just about to give up on it when I got inspired by your video.❤
Aww thats awesome, I go to the ends of the earth to keep mine going. Worth it in the end. They sure dont make them like they used to
I have the same shape but in a 2.5 XS in silver. Was really sad to let her go. Drover her from 47K to over 350K kilometer for over 15 years as my daily driver. Replaced her with a 2013 (2014 spec) black XT and really understand you sentiment about the black cars. Keen to see further progress and videos on the car. Great job so far!
Thats awesome, her daily is a 2010 and she used to a 2015 fxt. But ultimately liked the previous gen better so went back to the 2010. Thanks for watching and I also look forward to doing more this car. She put 8k on this summer after this vid and she loved every km being in her beloved fxt!
@@TheSubieSanctuary I am of the opinion that the Gen 2 Forester felt a lot more stable on the road that the Gen 4. Must be the fact that the Gen 2 sits lower and probably has a lower CofG. But I prefer the fuel consumtion and performance on the 2.0 XT and even the CVT grew on me - especially in traffic. Love the fact that it is bit of sleeper performance wise and I managed to give an Audi TT the scare of its life the other day.
@@robertjacobsfishing ya thats it for with the drive feel of gen 1-2 vs 3 and onward. Gen 3 and onward definitely more like suv then wagon. Your right too about the fuel consumption in the 2.0T vs the old 2.5T, they 2.5T is so thirsty pushing around the brick shaped old foresters
@@TheSubieSanctuary I just sold my 15 fxt for an 04 manual fxt !!
@@natehawesvideo heck yes! Wife used to have a 16 fxt, she didnt like it though. She had while she had this one and ultimately went back to the 09-13 forester as daily driver and still the 05 fxt as the toy
So nice to see this. I have a 2003 XT manual also. I love it. 👍👍
Man, such a fantastic video and build! I was looking for a video of someone putting wagon springs on a SG FXT and I finally found it. Again, stellar car and thanks for the video!
Don't you just love the boxer sound😁
Love this video. I acquired an 04 FXT 5 speed in java black pearl essentially for free, has some rust, leaks a ton of oil. I’ve been deciding on whether to sell or keep. This video is making it harder!
They are sweet cars, getting few and far between now. Especially manual
Amazing work as always! I wish you guys were closer to South FL.. :)
love the pink fog covers
Awww🥰😇
Love it, another amazing scooby rescue! 🤙
I've got a SF5. It needs lots of rear inner wheel well work. I couldn't bring myself to break it or scrap it. Been sitting in the garage but it start first time and it's black the best colour. Gud job..👍
They are too awesome to give up on. This chassis was good condition for the salt belt but we had oiled it over the years. Hopefully you get to yours and get it back on the road
That little boy giving the thumbs up.
Awesome Forester!
Would love to see more, this was great!
"Put the kid seats back in, tour around and race some dudes"😂😂😂 I love it
And we have 🙌 kids cant get enough of it
Came out great!
Always good work Jesse!
Thanks brother
That blue front bumper looks familiar 😄
Recently had new rear shocks done in my 06XT. Now wish I had some strut to body spacers installed with at the same time.
PS the ending was very sweet.
Ah dang eh, i even have them in my 2010 forester on stock struts to help level the ride when its full of passengers and cargo
Now that’s subie love 👏👏👏👏
Why Gg stuff instead of Fozzy? Totally agree I need that year Foz as well. So good looking!! Super aggressive looking
"Put together with stuff I had laying around" sums up car collecting for us
To lowerize it 😂 but the stock suspension was 300k on it so this overall was a good move
@@TheSubieSanctuary just rewatching bcuz omg Suby...and notice something ironic. A buddy had a Foz and burned an exhaust valve too (#4 i believe). Wonder why it's common?
@@Gunma_garage it does seem pretty common, in all fairness it did make it over 300k km. Not a bad run though
Love the bbs’s
Love it ! I am looking at a 2004 Forester XT this week, how was it with the baby car seats ? I’m 6’1 and my wife is 5’1, hoping a rear facing seat can fit without cramping the passenger front seat.
We did put our rear facing seat on pass side as well. It definitely forced the pass seat forwards a little bit but it was still fine for wife without issue.
Epic.
Same exact thing all over my 06 XT's paint. I think its from sap sitting there. It's acidic so it eats paint.
Thats what i think too, its like etched in the paint. Even tried a wet sand and it just made it shinier 😂😭
Love the vids man
Nice my respect to you
What was the product you used on the headlights that you blotted on, rubbed in then buffed off with the paper towel?
Those headlights looked FRESH after.
Just a little compound polish on a rag. Really cleans up plastic quick
@@TheSubieSanctuary oh sweet! i havent used compound yet but just purchased meguiar's compound to try on my subi's bubbling clear coat and hoping i wont have to spary a new gloss coat 🙄
@@CatDog612 🤞
the fitment is crazy, how did you learn all this stuff?
Thanks brother, Ive been subaru’ing for about 20 years. They are just second nature to me.
Im going to be doing a brake upgrade on it this spring! Stay tuned, should be rad
What did you use fore the headlights ?
Just medium polish compound, they are still shiny! For really bad lights you probably need a machine polish
I stopped taking my Forrester XT out on Friday nights because she drinks too much. Especially the hard stuff called “Premium.”
Ya they definitely arnt the best on fuel. The combo of the 255/4.44 and being a literal toaster shape. Ours a thirsty girl. Parked it last weekend for the winter though. My wallet could use a break 😂
SECOND COMMENT :P
when can I drop off my XT to ya ?!?!
😂 are you Ontario local
@@TheSubieSanctuary may have a hard time getting it back over the boarder ; )
Try WD-40
On the paint etching? I actually wet sanded it and polished it. Almost made it stick out more 😂 out of curiosity id try wd40
What sauce are you using to revive the light bezel?
Just some compound polish and a micro fibre! Has held up very well since!
@@TheSubieSanctuary
😃Okay, thanks! Great Work as usual!
PLease more lighting for all the dark materials and dark areas.
I have to ask help regarding welding!! I previously bought a HF 140 multiprocess welder which I thought meant 140 amps but diesn't. I knew nothing about what to get so I got caught by the koncept I knew I needed to weld a nut onto the right pinch bolt and that I would have to do body work but with bad health limited in how far I kan think. I am after the fact with the belief I got badly screwed with this HF welder reading through forums and am afraid it isn't korreckt for automotive structural welding!!!! What brand is your welder and what are the specifications needed and what wire specifications and welder settings were you using to rebuild the bugeye subaru strutt towers and weld in the new drivers side frame rail? Thanks!!
@@eddiesasquatch8124 at home I did get some sweet new spot lights for darker scenes. Just haven’t been doing any at home project’s recently.
Im using a lincoln 180 mig welder. It does require 240 service and I use argon/oxygen mix for gas. Typically known as auto weld.
@@TheSubieSanctuary @TheSubieSanctuary
Can you tell me is that Harbor Freight 140 multiprocess welder going to be any good for structural welds? I kouldn't get good with stick it seems to kold so I previously switched to practicing flux mig welding but I am uncertain of what I should be seeing to know I have a korreckt strong weld for structural purposes.
What settings and wire are you using when I watch you do the strutt towers on your bugeye project? How bad did you get set back on the frame rail price?! Congratulations on that removal of the frame rail I appreciate your sarcasim for the intense involvement with tge flokring tool to break free that little metal section that was adhesived and your color blue sentiment. Is it possible that all along the frame rail that if my rail is bad that there is a select solvent that will break that adhesive down without being fume toxic and ease the burden of that workload to free up the frame rail?!
I am glad you got some lighting bekause there is toooooo little quality work on Subarus and every detail I kan soak up helps to ease or erase fears!!
Thanks👍
