      I sold mine 14 years ago and used the money to get a weighted-key midi controller keyboard. Best decision I could have made.
      It was a beast in it’s time though.

    I just received a VS-1680 as a gift. I have been recoding, and producing for many years. This particular system, though "obsolete", i.e. discontinued, it is a great system. For a sample of the sounds you can get, please see my video, "ANCESTRAL" on my channel. The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered with the VS-1680, and the quality is amazing. I've been having great troubles figuring the system out... and being a woman, the tears of frustration fell like rain! LOL.Mukesh, you are a great teacher. Thank you!

    Thanks again for your video. It makes it so much easier to work things out with this recorder. You also seem to make very nice music with it as well.

    thank god we have pro tools and computers daws now and i never had to use this shit. when i started these were still being sold at guitar center around 99-02 but in that time frame computer recording had started taking off and i'm glad , the manuals were hard as hell to understand and youtube was not much help because there was no youtube

    These are fairly inexpensive to buy used now, but still a very capable device. Back in the day, circa the turn of the century, they were THE hot item and cost about $3,000! You can find them now for 200-300 dollars. Many are in pristine condition, having seen little actual use.

    Hi, I recently got this unit as a classic mixer. Works perfect but have only one FX card. Can I insert multiple effects to channels? Lets say a reverb to vocal channel and Chorus to guitar channel from one card? TIA

      By mic input. I had stopped using it several years ago. I now use Roland vs 2000, which generates a wav file which can be used to mix etc. Cheers

    Hi, i'm interested in getting a vs 1680 being sold for a really cheap price. The only issue is that the backlight for the lcd screen doesn't work anymore. Would it actually still be usable without the backlight? Like, will i actually still be able to see the things on the screen without it?
    I'd like to hear from anyone who have experienced this situation.

    hey man thanks a lot i have a question, can you do multitracking on this machine??

    • @sonimukeshg1
      @sonimukeshg1  8 років тому

      yes you can.

    • @IvanFabilaVega
      @IvanFabilaVega 8 років тому

      really?so basically works like a reel to reel 1/4 inch tape machine? so the numbers of tracks im able to multitrack in this case would be all of the inputs?
      The thing is i was going to buy a reel to reel machine but i guess this is cheaper and easrier to star with and still give that sweet analog white noise, can ou give any advise on what to buy better?

    • @sonimukeshg1
      @sonimukeshg1  8 років тому +1

      I now have vs2000 which can be connected to pc via usb and has CD burning capabilities. You can buy a second hand vs2000 in few extra dollars.

    • @frodev728
      @frodev728 6 років тому

      Ivan Fabila yes it records multitracking, that’s the whole purposed of it’s existence, but it’s all digital so you won’t get the analog sound you’re after.
