Roland-Garros 2022: from 16 May to 5 June. - Спорт
She is so athletic and fast. I think she even surprised Sloane a few times by getting so many more balls back in play that Sloane would usually win the rally with.
Case in point, the exchange starting at 2:38
Sloane had a better French Open than many anticipated. QF is a good run for her as of late. Big win over Teichman as well. But Coco is the better player right now and possibly going forward.
Coco has more offense to offer while still matching Sloane’s defensive abilities.
I am sad to see Sloane Stephens lose yesterday.
Ok now shut up..
sloane won US open 2017...and u consider win over teichman big😂..nice optimism
Sloane would be lethal if she had a killer instinct. She has the game. But her mind wanders. Coco, at 18, is more focused. And meaner. Like Barty. And Swiatek. The way Serena was for about 20 years.
Great match, it’s good to see them both make it to Quarterfinals, I’m glad their hard work is paying off. I wanted Sloane to win I’m a fan of hers, she gave it her all, good for Coco reaching her first Semifinal of a Grand Slam 👏
fan of Sloane's tennis or her modeling😂
@@rajatsingh5902 both lol
@@rajatsingh5902 both she’s a great champion
Great match from both ladies! Classic tennis with composure, athleticism, and style. Congrats to Coco for the win.😍❤💫💥💯
This was splendid. Coco has risen to the next level. Sloane is as graceful as it gets.
Sloane won US open 2017...now she's losing to teenager.
@@rajatsingh5902 A teenager who is ranked far above her. It’s not too difficult to see how stupid your comment is.
Coco seems to be very fast.
They were absolutely slugging it out!
What a beautiful match from Coco, her forehand and backhand were on fire 🌞 Also, Her use of drop shots on this surface is very very smart.
Great match ladies. Proud of both of you! Congratulations Coco! Way to bring the jitters back in control!😁😁
This was a good match to watch. The movement from Coco was great. Her backhand was phenomenal, the way she used her backhand shots to stop Stephens from using her forehand. I loved when both these players chased down the ball, some quality tennis and some great ball striking. Well done coco and well done Sloane on reaching the QF.
Gauff identified a weakness in Stephens's backhand and was merciless in exploiting it. She had a plan and executed perfectly. She suddenly seems mature, and mentally tougher than ever. Great to see.
@@hillwellford9637 great to see Coco winning, however if she reaches the final which she should do. In getting there she has only beaten one seeded players and that player was ranked 31.
@bigray1999 I love Sloane but she hasn't been at the same standard since winning the US open many years ago, we will get a better guide where Coco is after the final against Iga.
I'd love to see a Gauff vs Swiatek final 🔥🔥🔥
lol not if jessica pegula has something to say about this. it might be pegula /gauff . i doubt it but it's possible
@@co9971 I think Pegula might be able to bother Swiatek -- she (Pegula) has some sneaky power. Obviously Iga's favored, but I don't see Jessica folding under the pressure. I don't think we've seen the best Coco Gauff tennis yet -- she'll need it to win this year.
Now that would be Super Awesome !!
@@co9971 i think that after this 1st set scare vs zheng swiatek is gonna destroy everyone from now on, i mean i dont really see someone that can challenge her
It is great to see Sloane returning to good form, but Coco was patient and controlled her often erratic forehand, and she covers court so well.
Very refreshing to have Sloane back. I just want her to focus and be consistent
If Coco makes it to the finals, she’s gonna get a nice graduation gift.
Let's really really hope, Swiatek is Hugh !!! # CoriGuaff
What a great match from Coco!! Great movement; great strokes. Coco is rounding into good form, and at the right time too. Sloane made a fight of it, but Coco just had a better crafted game, was more composed, and played a bit more intelligently. Best game I've seen from Coco in a long time. Congrats! Keep it up!
My goodness if CoCo can just strike lower a lot of her rallies would go in her favor. The potential is rising again.
Amazing performance gauff bravo Stephens play amazing tennis this week she go to quarters finals and play amazing tennis proud of both amazing player gauff god luck in semi final will play agnist trevisan another player play amazing in clay court this season
Coco reminds me of Venus in some ways. Very innovative. She has beaten a GS champ and that makes her a strong competitor to reach the RG finals if she continues her aggressive plays.
I love whenever Coco and Sloane play each other. I absolutely ❤️ them.
C. Gauff in full control - I was expecting a tighter match. Still a decent campain for S Stephens.
Gauff is getting the consistency and confidence she needs to be a top top player. I’ve been following most of her matches and I think she has tweaked her game recently. With her consistency, her strengths are becoming dangerous weapons: good starter in games, athleticism, good reading of the game, dangerous backhand, powerful serves and positive attitude on court. The weaknesses in her game have been her forehand and second serve. She is learning to be less aggressive with her her second serves to reduce her double faults. This is good for her. To be a top player, a player must learn to hide their own weaknesses and exploit those of their opponent. She is doing that really well. Now she builds her game with her right and does not accept the baits of her opponents to be aggressive with her forehand. Before she always went toe to toe with more aggressive players who were taunting her forehand. She uses her forehand more wisely now, using it to build and only showing aggression with it when she is confident that she can hit winners. Her forehand will become solid with time. She is getting better at finding the balance between her attack and defence. Her all round game has improved remarkably. The addition of a new coach to her team has paid good dividend. Most importantly, she has been pushing back smartly against peoples expectations of her in her media interviews. I think those expectations weighed heavily on her since she burst on to the scene. Now she is playing freely and for herself which I think is the best place to be mentally to win grand slams. I really wish her the best.
Well put. She just need to improve rallying, know when to switch direction, don't let the other guy push her into a corner and control the rally.
Coco's determination to win is amazing!!!
I'm surprised that Stephens couldn't take advantage of the fact that she has a much superior forehand.
Agreed. Why doesn’t she use her foot speed to ensure that like most players preferring to hit a forehand?
This is a quality match, Coco will be champ.
I like what I see. Be patient hit the ball side to side and get to the net often, use your dropshot , your slice, I like when you hit the ball high . Coco this is your chance to get a slam. Next 2 matches play like there is no tomorrow. Be fierce, make noise, shout out loud. C'mon
So true. Really like her calm during rallies. That looping forehand is keeping opponents at bay. Hope she takes it all.
Correction: *"C'MON!!!"*
😁
Lovely winning speech by Coco at the end. What a lovely young future champion :) Wise girl.
I really thought this match would go 3 sets. Proud of CoCo!
Great tennis from both ladies! I’m a fan of both, but I am incredibly happy for Coco! First grand slam semifinal! 🥳🥳🥳
Great match from Coco. She won the battle of court positioning and was more aggressive. She also effectively neutralized Sloane’s forehand, which is the biggest shot on the court. A great opportunity to make the final now!
Coco definitely wants it more. Can't say the same effort or determination to win it there with Sloane, consistently :(
If there is one person left in this Roland Garros tournament that can beat Iga...its Coco
I hope she does better then their last match it was a slaughter.
After Q Zheng and L Fernandez stumble to reach the next. Now it only Coco Gauff I look upto to this final. And hope and praise that she will win the French Open.
I hope to you see you in the final Miss Gauff.
All the best.
Coco you are. doing great
I always watch your much
So see you on Saturday
I pray for you ..too dt again Saturday....i love you ❤❤❤❤
All the way from Namibia 🇳🇦🇳🇦
Gauff the queen road to finals come on believe it make it happen.
She should stop those stupid drop shots,if she face a focus opponent she will get punish easily.
@@chizashungu8364 yep some of those drop shots are horrible and just gifts for her opponents and it's obvvious that she uses them in pressure situations when her emotions are high.
@@co9971 she should stop that immediately and another thing she is so hesitating to go for shots when there is space to do that. Its so dangerous cause other players can dictate.
Gauff is a tremendous competitor with a terrific backhand.
I love the shuffling sound of Coco’s feet on the clay.
Yess!! Love these ladies. Great match
Still think Coco could pull the trigger a bit earlier in some of these rallies. Lots of room for future improvements. When she really comes to herself she will blow opponents off court. Congrats to Coco and Sloane.
no , not on clay. she could learn to pull the trigger earlier on hard courts though.
@@co9971 You may be right. I still think she has sufficient power, even now at the age of 18, to make it count when she goes for a power shot to the open court. Injuries permitting, she will be super explosive in 5 years time. I just think she can sometimes be quite conservative with her shot selection, making her rely a bit too much on her athleticism.
@@thecockerel86
In this clip on two occasions Coco had opportunities to play forehand winners down the line into a gaping court but on both occasions played the easier cross-court shot and lost the point.
She has no confidence at all in her forehand, and rightly so. I am happily surprised she got through, but her forehand is still in terrible shape. She can compensate on clay but to really make an impact on hard courts or grass she needs to sort it out,
@@thecockerel86 i think this lack of explosive power is on purpose. on clay you have to construct points. this is what heavy hitters like Serena and Kuznetsova had to learn to do to win the French.
Very clean striking by both players
Oh my goodness Coco you are killing in a good way so happy for you I had faith in you since you are more relaxed I think it has made a difference I’m rooting for you
If Coco win a slam, watched out !! I think this will propel her game and confident to a new level. Go Coco in your next matched.
Love them Both
I'm not counting on it, but an all-American final would be awesome (Gauff v. Pegula). Getting past Swiatek will be tough, but Pegula has been playing great, so who knows? Stranger things have happened.
It would be awesome to see an all-American Gauff v Pegula final and a Gauff/Pegula v. Keys/Townsend doubles final!
It took her a Lil longer but she's reaching that Black Girl Magic place everyone screaming Iga, remember the 99 US Open, Hingis was the favorite, was on a roll & black girl named Serena stepped up, CoCo can upset Iga & only CoCo! Let the Iga & CoCo era begin!!!
Wow! This was a very Good Match! Well done Amazing Ladies! 😊👍
Que nivel 🤩
coco good job.
so happy for you ☺
congratulations
love ❤.
I love Sloane, but I sometimes wish she was faster on the court/more aggressive. She has so much power but I feel like she waits for a mistake rather than finish out a point.
No kill shot unless it’s forced on her.
What a pretty skort or dress Coco wore. She looked like a princess on the court :)
A warrior princess. 😊
wish you would nt cut off the handshakes
Coco seems like a different player this tournament. What a run for her!
Cheering for COCO all the way!
Suggestion for the folks running the Roland Garros UA-cam account: maybe make the thumbnails be a shot of both players instead of just the winner, for those who are worried about spoilers. Hope this is a helpful perspective. Cheers.
They've been told repeatedly but clearly don't bother to read comments to see the criticism
🔥🔥🔥more fire Coco. Well done, yes you can win this.🥰🥰💪💪👏
Superb.
Coco has arrived she's now combined tactical with her skills and is able to target and exploit opponents weaknesses. Once you have mastered a style it's nothing left but for her to stay consistent. Coco is lethal
Let's go, Coco! Two more matches.
Hoping that Coco Gauff would win the French Open 2022. I am a Emmanuel Hudson R fan but I also praising other tennis players like Coco. Her dedication to the game and the personality as well. I watched her previous games - learned from it and continuous improvement on her craft and non attention deficit. She just love and play tennis. I am impressed and for me she is a promising tennis player. Sloane had her US open win. This time for Coco. She made mentioned any player could win in the US Open so why not also in the French Open GS? Go Coco!
Well its hard with swiatek still in the draw
@@notis6107 yeah given swiatek's form, winning the french is a lot to ask for but two things working for gauff. 1) She can turn around and win after losing a first meeting with players 2) she's the underdog, Iga is expected to win.
@@co9971 she lost 2 times against swiatek and also swiatek was the favourite in tge last 32 matches she played and she won them all. She has the mentality of the no1. Also the last time they played ( in miami) it was pretty one sided
Go, Coco!!
Wow, Coco is really making up for a lousy clay court season. Nice to see such joy coming from her.
She has only played one seeded player and she was ranked 31. She may get a reality check in the final against Swiatek.
Coco is on another level ! Clay court is her forte ! If she keeps this play up ! We may have many surprises this year ! Her court coverage is excellent, she is very attentive and plays the court and not her opponent!
She has not had to play anybody yet. Unranked and lower ranked
@@andrewthompson7707 We are stuck on status and number that mean nothing . Personal growth and development of skills are what get you far . It is a journey not a destination. Her games does not hinge on who she plays or how she is ranked ! As society we need to unreal the cultures that we’ve created that do not add value .
@@bukeaor2961 True, but beating high rankings means players have the potential to win at least once or repeat winning GS. Look at Iga, Sharapova, & Hennin.
@@sciencekid7565 just cause she hasn’t beat them in this tournament does not mean she hasn’t before.. cause she has. But it’s also not her fault she’s in this part of the draw. People say she is overhyped but she hasn’t really had a problem from any of the contenders this draw. They may be unranked but anyone can be beaten. She hasn’t even came close to loosing in RG yet this year. That’s pretty good! I definitely think iga had the harder draw and is having to fight more.. but I expect her to be in the final. It’s always a maybe for coco just cause she’s still young and learning her game
@@andrewthompson7707 nonsense, Sloane is a GS winner and former world number 1.
Elise Mertens is a top 15 player and world number 1 in doubles and 3xGS doubles winner.
Coco beat Kaia "Giant Killer" Kanepi who beat number 10 seeded 2x GS winner and former world number 1 Mugurudza and another world number 1 and 3xGS winner Angelique Kerber and a world number 4 GS winner Sophia Kenin.
Let's not forget Coco has beaten world number 1 and 4x GS winner Naomi Osaka too
Put some respect on Coco's name.
CONGRATS COCO GAUFF and SLOANE STEPHENS!!! YOU PLAYED VERY BEAUTIFUl TOGETHER GREAT MATCH!!! SUCCES SUCCES For FINAL !!! 🤔🤗

Bravo Coco, Much love to Coco and Sloane.
Impressive sliding skills on the clay CoCo!
This was a huge surprise

I've been saying for a few days now that the winner of this match will be one of the finalists, the other being Iga Swiatek. Coco is playing very well at this point and it wouldn't surprise me to see her hoisting the trophy at the end. Congrats to Coco for making it this far! Keep up the great work!
Congratulations to my little princess 👸 more blessings more Wins more money 🙏🙏🙏🙏🎉🎉🎊🎈🎈🍾🍾🥂🥂💰💰💰💰💰❤️
Coco's footwork is always good and On top of that She produce powerful stroke. Great.
she may go all the way to the final!
Straight sets against a Grand Slam Winner ain't too bad
Gauff is doing great!
Good to see this kid finally get some results. She has been unlucky the last couple of years. The American sports press put her under pressure. They raised expectations for her to represent American women's tennis and that must have made her nervous and tight in matches, preventing her from hitting freely.
MOON BALLS !
Love these two players. Nice to see Stephens back at a top competitive level. And Gauff-she can really move on clay. Hope to see her in the finals
Coco looks so cute in her outfits...
Sloan Stevens will always be my favorite female tennis player !!!! Love ya Sloan
dont cut the shake hand session after match. damnn!!
I just came from Alcaraz highlights and this looks straight out of u-14 tournament gameplay
Wow wow wow
Amazing Match LADIES!!!
Barring any injury or something Gauff is DEFINITELY getting to the final where she'll most likely face Swiatek. Stephens hit wayyyy too many shots to Gauff's backhand b/c she was too impatient to deal with all of Gauff high bouncing forehands as she really doesn't have that shot flattened out at all to make for stronger drives. I was kinda rooting for Sloane as I really like her forehand and movement but Coco was just so fast today, really great on clay, her slide is as if she grew up on it! I dont' see Trevisan being a problem for Gauff at all. If she faces Swiatek in the final she is a HEAVY underdog but stranger things have happened!
Great Job Coco 👏 👍 👌... Good match!!
Good job COCO congratulations darling!😘😘😘
Coco's putting it together! Very impressive run.
Hopefully Sloane can build off of this, because considering her struggles, making the quarterfinals is a good result. As for Coco, keep going!
GOGO COCO!!! 🎾🎾
Nice one Coco! 👍👍

The queen of clay is swiatek atm
