I was scared for iga then i watched the whole semi final between coco and trivanan
She has a good first serve,a good defensive game and better than average backhand and thats all for the positives
Her second serve is awful,her groundstrokes are too slow and her forehand is error prone also her net game is average at best
While iga also has holes in her game they aren't as big as coco
Iga has an average serve and an okay backhand
But the rest is phenomenal
I think iga will win this comfortably
she will lose the final

Iga hits with much more topspin with a bolo finish that goes over/around her head. She is arguably just as fit as Gauff. I expect Iga 6-4 6-2.

@@medievalmike5562 Im w you, the groaning on a volley! it's not just ridiculous, it hinders the opponent's audio read on the ball (see Martina's comments on this), and makes for terrible viewing. Something needs to be done for the broader popularity of tennis. If tennis fans can't stand it, how are casual viewers going to react to it!
At the first game there was no scream but from then on, in most of the points, the scream from Trevisan was too loud and two long.
Curious that at the few points in which she didn't scream, she didn't scream at any shot during those points.
She is a beautiful lady with a beautiful game but her scream is unbearable...
Coco has come so far and is doing so well. I can’t wait to see her and Iga play! That’s sure to be a good match.

I love Coco, but Iga is playing so well, so I will say 6-2 6-4 Iga! Plus Coco is still in the doubles semi's which will be an all American semifinal, so good for her for that accomplishment as well!

Coco played so well in the second set. I know she was nervous in the beginning but I’m so happy she found her comfort level. She’s played so well and so calm, I really hope she plays like that in the final. If she plays her best she’ll give herself a really good chance to win.

I don't think anyone should be surprised that the French Open is Coco's first major final. Her game translates perfectly to the surface.
I was surprised.
Coco made the QF last year and did better this year to get to the Finals...she got it done with better mindset and confidence. Was also junior RG champ in 2018 at 14 but is much improved now. The year she won it she beat Leylah in semis and Iga lost in other semis.

@@nmn361 just a correction that was 2018 leylah and coco meet in the semis and coco eventually won 2018 RG juniors then 2019 leylah won the RG Juniors. They are really both good in clay just need to figure out techniques more but definitely they are promising. I didn't know iga was in semi too wow that speaks a lot
@@fritzdc6769 oh, yes that was what I meant 2018 for Coco ...2019 for Leylah...Iga won junior Wimbledon 2018 after getting beat at RG. Iga in the 2018 junior RG semis lost to Caty McNally which was her doubles partner...Caty and Iga ended up winning 2018 junior RG doubles. Interesting tidbit how Caty and Coco ended up as doubles partners and Iga stopped playing doubles...🤔🤷

Trevisan seems like a nice person, she is beautiful and she has a great lefty game. However, her grunt is NOT acceptable, she is still making LOUD noise even as her opponent strikes the ball. She even makes the same obnoxious loud grunt when she hits a DROP SHOT or a VOLLEY? Makes zero sense…should be penalized…
I was waiting for the ball to come back to her before she finished her previous "ahhhhhhhhh".

Coco is an exceptional talent! It’s very difficult to be really good at singles as well as at doubles. Both the formats have different ways of thinking, different match tactics. And she has mastered both of them. Roland Garros finals in women’s singles and now semifinals in doubles: at such a young age is major achievement.

Just exceptional. Her movement on the court is still mind blowing to me. Great improvement on her forehand and I think that’s what made her game even better her backhand is so beautiful watch and once she’s in her strike zone she can hit a winner in any direction from that wing. This match was very entertaining as opposed to the other semi final that was so boring and one sided.

I found Trevisan noises super annoying. And they are not only annoying me but I'm pretty sure these noises affect negatively her opponent concentration and rhythm especially when grunting with full power while performing a dropshot or a volley both requiring very little effort. I'm so glad Coco Gauff won that match.
I find this annoying too, but we’re all forgetting herd that Nadal does exactly the same and no one complains about him.. (I’m a huge Rafa fan btw, just pointing out some double standards)

More than half of you who stating what a poor quality match this was, can't even lift a racket! Everytime coco has one this week, some of you are in the comment section spewing hate... how she does going to get beat next match this and that! Give her the credit that she deserves! Bravo coco!!!
No question. The winner to unforced errors by both was horrendous. Coco tightened up her game in set 2 but ultimately she was still minus 6, that being said she moved really well and was strategic
I don’t get the lack of support. The tennis was sloppy but it was expected with two nervous first-time semifinalist. Coco played smart big looping forehand, safe serve. Let her backhand do the damage. Sometimes it’s not pretty when you play a grinder.
Should not be allowed to grunt for so long that it is still going during your opponent's shot. Fucking embarrassing if you need to do that to win

Coco played such an adult match. I could tell by Sloane’s comments there was some beef or tension here and right from the start she was doing the Martina Hingis smiling while Coco served mind games, grunting so long and loud and Coco just weathered the gamesmanship so we’ll until she settled in enough to break through.
I think she was thinking about her loss to her the last time the played at the French Open and was doubting her shots a little bit with those first drop shots but she recovered and really dug in.
Loved this match. The next thing Coco needs is to increase her foot speed between shots. She sometimes waits for the ball a little bit even after she hits a great shot.
Iga is following the ball so we’ll and Coco will need to do that as well and not let her opponents get back into points when she’s hit a good shot going forward

I’m sure coco is going to run for every ball. Coco’s drop shots, slice and net play may help her too if she has time. She can’t afford to hit the ball short against Iga, particularly off her forehand. Hoping it’s a good match. Love coco’s attitude too.

Trevisan's confected shout after every shot - even drop shots for goodness sake - is bad sportsmanship and she needs to stop it. It's also extremely annoying for spectators and takes away from the purity of the tennis as you are constantly distracted by this awful and unnecessary noise. It is not even as though she does it as she hits the shot - it is afterwards, as the opponent is lining up to return the shot. Someone needs to have a word with her, seriously. I would certainly never go and watch her play as it would drive me mad. Kudos to Coco - no grunting needed to win, well done her!

Literally my exact thoughts - I noticed she grunted during her drop shot, and her grunts also really only can be heard after she hits the ball and while the opponent is receiving. Questionable at best
