Must confess Stephens is not my favorite player but I really like her demeanor and composure in the court - she's full of emotions yet so calmed - she doesn't over celebrate her points and remains cool winning or loosing - I hope she continues that way and doesn't turn into a diva - glad for her!!!

Both Halep and Sloane have very similar games. They're defensive, counter-punchers that can be very aggressive when need be. The difference is that Halep does it all just a little bit better than Sloane which is why I think she will win, but to be honest Sloane has been playing phenomenally so anything can happen.

All the pressure is on Simona to win this because she's aware that she's the favorite and she's already lost in this stage twice which I'm sure will be in the back of her mind. As an American I'm obviously rooting for Sloane, but at the same time you gotta feel for Halep, she deserves to win a Slam she's come so close on several occasions, but can't quite get over that hurdle. It's been a long time coming for Simona, so if she were to win I wouldn't be mad about it.
T Sheff I would be overjoyed for either one of them to win to be honest, but it just may be more satisfying seeing Halep finally get her first. I feel for her and how close she's been so many times before. She could've even taken the Aus Open this year if her body wasn't so beat up from that HELL of a draw she had.

There is absolutely nothing similar about these two, it's just that Sloan choses to play defense sometimes but she has 10x more power than Halep.
Halep doesn't need to choke to lose to Stephens, this girl will beat Halep on Halep's best day and Stephens worst day. Stephens will win and after Wimbledon will take over the #1, she's clearly better than all the rest except Serena, the only problem with Stephens is that she is bored playing other tournament other than a grand slam, take this from a tournament tennis player, check the Vegas odds, I'm sure Stephens is favored.
Sloane serves and hits her forehand better than Halep. Halep moves a bit better and strikes the backhand stronger that's it
Sloane has a beautiful game. It never seems like she’s trying hard. Very easy power. I’m cheering for Sloane. Simona is looking phenomenal,though. Her only weakness will be nerves.

Personnally I prefer Halep wins. 1,and especially because she deserves that finally after more finals lost. 2, because as a French, my feelling is closer with a Latina Romania than an anglo-saxon USA. After if Stephens wins the final, I will not cry either, and I will be happy for her. But in spite of everything I'll be happier if it's Halep who wins RG2018. ^^

Both Stephens and Halep have been playing efficient, powerful, consistent tennis all tournament. This is going to be a blockbuster final with a lot of winners and power rallies on either side. I'm definitely rooting for Sloane in this matchup. GO USA!!
I like Simona and the way she plays, but it is nice to watch a match without the obnoxiously loud grunting! I also like Sloane and she seems very graceful and elegant in personality! Either way, it should be a good match in the final!

When Keys attempted to do the job of the referee by showing her where Sloane's ball might have landed I knew it that it was over for keys. That shot hit exactly on the line or a few inches before it.
Sloane needs to win the French Open to prove to junior tennis players that you don't need to shriek and scream with every shot to be an elite player.

Sloane looks like she did when she won the US Open last year, just so confident, calm, and consistent I expect it to be an incredible match on Saturday, and I think the winner of the match will be regarded as the current number one in the world. Halep should the final I expect her too but we have been here before with her. She should have beaten ostepenko last and the match in AO v Wozniacki was a fun one. It should be a fun match.

Another day at the office it would seem. Ms.Stephens is an example of efficiency in tennis. She seems to have not returned to competition after injury with an air of urgency. Simply hitting balls that come within HER hitting zone. If an opponent makes a winner, no sweat. What is perhaps beguiling is the ease in which she hits balls, albeit practised to land deep. She is a powerfully built woman and her easygoing demeanour perhaps lulls opponents into assuming balls are coming without wrist-jarring pace. It's a nice clean clear-thinking strategy. I like Ms.Keys and again she may have been forced into that syndrome of one having to MAKE the openers and winners and the other returning. With high stakes on the line, there could be mental cracks not easily seen by spectators. She did play better than in USO final though.

Looking at this match one of the biggest weakness in Madison Keys game is her MOVEMENT. Keys is not slow but she is not fast and Sloane exposes Keys movement over and over in this match. Sloane also is more patient and she has the speed to track down Madison hard hit shots. Madison really needs to learn more about patience and constructing points. It is a shame Keys lacks variety in her game.

Nice win for Sloane. Congrats to her and Madison showing up as consistent slam contenders. I hope that after this tournament, Sloane can be consistent though:m. I think the pressure of being the targeted player after your first grand slam can be daunting. Then, when you lose a matches, everyone thinks those titles were a fluke and now you can play freely. Hopefully Sloane gets used to winning consistently. Same with Naomi.

Both Sloane and Simona play the same game but Sloane has long legs and gets to the balls quicker with very little effort. If the weather turns too hot then Simona will run out of gas because he has to take more steps to get to the ball. She has to make the rallies as short as possible to win this just like Sabine did to Maria in the quarters. Good luck to both and we hope they'll give us a good match.
If you think you don’t have a chance then you’re going to lose. Please Madison sort things out and come back with a better mindset.

Madison made SO MANY ERRORS. She keeps pulling the trigger way too early in the rally and was just not patient enough. If she slowed down and relaxed, she would be the winner. Congrats to Stephens though, she just put everything in play and that seemed to bother Madison.

I understand that, but it's impossible to hit outright winners all the time, especially on clay. I don't think she had to hit her shots with a 100% pace all the time because she has so much innate power already and that automatically got Sloane in a defensive position. Madison's lack of patience led to a lot of second and third shot errors, when a slightly longer rally could've led to an opportunity to hit a winner on the right ball.
If you watched the match, you'd see that her hitting 41 unforced errors compared to Sloane's 11 is just way too much of a dichotomy... she needed to bring that number down just a bit to come close to her 25 winners.
Sloane is smart, but I doubt Halep will lose by making too many errors. If anything, I think she's probably a better defender than Sloane and it will be Sloane making more errors. Even in the grand slam finals where Halep "choked" she never really has beaten herself. Sharapova, Ostapenko, and Wozniacki all had to earn those victories.

The only thing that would prevent Sloane from winning her second GS would be an injury which she never had. Simona nervously won against Muguruza. Sloane will match her power for power with a greater mental and emotional stability. My Prediction: a tight first set with Simona faltering in the second set.

I was not wrong. Sloane celebrated too early expecting the trophy to be handed over to her. Simona was humble and she prayed the whole time believing her God and waiting for the breakthrough which came.
Hopefully, Sloane has learned from this. Her game was far better than that of Simona. But it was not meant to be. A bit of arrogance and entitlement crept into sloanes game and Simona capitalized on it.
Stephens will win champion of French Open 2018, because she knows she will win.

Nice match, both sets about the same, early Sloane lead, Keys made it closer at the end, Sloane closed it out. She will beat Halep but it will be close.
Stephens plays good defense and seems to be very consistent and accurate. What you need to win on clay. I'm curious how much she practiced on clay? Especially if she trained in the US. But I'm only watching 3 minutes of a tennis match that lasted over an hour. So don't take me too seriously..
Only players you could count on with any degree of certainty in women's tennis were the Williams sisters in their prime imo. You just never know what's going to show up with these players.
