@@jovonikolic6672 Yes, the queen of the game on clay because in all the statistics from 2013 until now she has the most points accumulated on this surface in the history of these years (2013-2022). You may not believe a simple documented fan, but Elina Svitolina gave us the latest support! Who stated in a recent interview that "Simona Halep is the best player on clay"! In some of these years she made between 3000 and 3500 points on this surface, and her followers between 1500 and 2000! A difference of 1000 points in one year is huge! You can verify on the official site of WTA ! The difference comes exactly from her physical conformation and from the qualities she has to compensate for the waist deficit (she is 1.68 cm) compared to her opponents. It compensates mainly by 4 qualities: 1. speed and terrain coverage. As someone said after Wimbledon 2019 "The earth is covered on 70% of the water surface, the rest is covered by Simona" 2. the quality of the return (in many of these years she has earned on the return over 52% points "It should be declared illegal." said Martina Navratilova. Here is by far the best on the circuit. 3. The technique of hitting the running ball, which is perhaps the best on the circuit! 4. The extremely small number of unforced errors in most matches is far less than the opponents (see the world record in the same Wimbledon when Simona had 3 unforced errors and Serena 26!). As an H2H bonus between Serena Williams and Simona Halep it is 8-2 for Serena, but Simona's 2 victories were the hardest defeats. of Serena from the age of 14 to 40 how many she currently has (6-0 6-2 in Round Robin TC Singapore 2014 and 6-2 6-2 at Wimbledon 2019 in the final!).

Well, that is possible to happen in her attempt to win against Halep... You now what they say, be careful what you say, that actually may happen. Hope not, literally! Is just a sport and the best will win that day. Don't get to high, the good wave got by Iga this year will end when she will need to repeat this year's performance, next year... Iga is good but no so good. Just a matter of conjucture of those s__t of WTA rules. She won those last tournaments well deserved taking into account who was against playing. Well, see how she will manage to survive the next 2 months when anything is possible but not granted for sure. Not wish for that but just observe and hope to confirm the opposite. The better will be the consistency in playing good tennis the better will be the show. Winning is not mean that you are the best but only that you are better that day. Doing that consistently will make you the best. Will see...
I like Halep, she's a great player, but it isn't going to be easy going through Iga, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible, but she did struggle through Coco and Iga didn't.
I wish her all the best - but I don't think Iga Światek will withdraw from RG :)

But the editing on this one was still much better than a lot of the videos. Not spending half the time on pointless replays and such. I guess they employ several different editors and there's some lack of consistency between their styles (and abilities).

@@GdF420 For sure, but I've come to accept that their editing method is such that they don't really care to try to convey the arc of the match. That's why they make strange choices like showing player A win two or three points comsecutively and then jump to the next point where player A is now two breaks down or whatever.

Gauff has to improve in the following areas: (1) her forehand needs to flatten on key moments, say, about 20% more (2) She needs to serve her way either out of trouble or win games when she is up, (3) She needs a more decisive return of serve.
She fell apart here though, in the 2nd she was 4-2 up at 40-0 on her serve and lost it 6-4. Her forehand was spraying all over the place in the end.
Yeah she's on a great pace of reaching her goal of most grand slam titles ever. Margaret Court watch out.

Gauff should have won that game serving 40-0 up a break 4-3 in that 2nd set but we all know that halep is a fighter and got that break back and ultimately won this match in 2 sets.

She seemed to collapse at 4-2 though and was 40-0 on serve and lost the rest of the games. She was going for way too much on the forehand and gave it to Halep in the end.

Wow Simona's playing more aggressive than before! Gauff's serve and forehand let her down in important moments. It seemed like she lost confidence on some of her service games during the last stages of the match due to the double fault count. I noticed she went for her forehand a bit more but the swing is too big and can be quite late imo.
Simona is on the way to winning Madrid.

Cherish these moments vs halep, bc the key to unlocking your game lies exactly in these sets that you've lost to simona..the Romanian knows this, and will never reveal the hidden layers that you're currently unaware of..you and team coco will have to discover these layers on your own, and credit to simona for not revealing them - they can only be earned through introspection, sweat, and many tears - and even then, they're never guaranteed; until then, it's 'just another clue'.. To simona, a rare, tru champion in tthe wta, I truly appreciate what you do - the dedication, the focus, the resilience, the fight - the enduring quest to express in the best way you know how - it is art! Always remember, the window for great lasts only so long, while the window for dominant stays open much, much longer - this is not dominant, but it is what it is - you must learn to accept this.

Halep played awesome. She showed to Cori "Coco" Gauff who is the queen of the clay. Simona Halep was unstoppable in this match. Finally she plays to her own level. It seems that partnership with Serena William's coach Murtaglou is working for Halep. I hope that it will last for long again. She needs more wins and more tittles. She is great tennis player.

She's still young, but I wonder if/when she'll take that next step and start winning matches like this. First set looked like it was headed to a tiebreaker. Coco has the game, but losing takes its toll mentally.

Gauff is a FLOP and a BAD PLAYER. No forehand for the years she’s been on tour - she has plateaued so badly

Coco was playing so well in the second set, I’m so shocked she collapsed. Sometimes I want her to just scream to release that frustration. She’s so uptight. I really want her t relax and know it’s the not the end of the world if she loses a point, a game, a set and a match. Hopefully she can build on some of the good moments she had in the match.
She gets tight because she can't be confident of either her second serve or her forehand. They're just not very good. It's a shame, really, she's such a talent. Halep was definitely targeting her forehand when the important points came up.

By this highlights reel, you would’ve thought Halep got demolished. The WTA simping for Gauff is disgusting and won’t do her any favors. Can’t believe there’s a highlights reel for a 2 time GS champ where her opponent has more featured points on it than her, in a straight set victory.

So Coco is up 4-2 in the second set, and then all of a sudden it is match point for Halep? These highlights, they do nothing!

I think patrick fixed a little bit the forehand and serve of Simona.. she's now playing with the arm more relax than before, specially in the forehand, which is letting her gain more depth on her balls.. Patrick goat 🐐
Coco Gauff played a pretty mature match today against Simona Halep. She really just lost it by a few crucial points here and there. It was evident she was really trying to keep the unforced error count down in the first set, but in doing so she fell into Halep's way of playing (longer points, a lot of running side to side, etc.) She came out much more aggressive in the second set, but her forehand is still a serious liability. The forehand errors weren't as bad as we've seen them, but we're still seeing that side break down too often. A grip change is very difficult at this stage in her career, but I don't think it should be off the table. Simona Halep did what she had to do. She knew she did not need to play as aggressively as she did against Badosa because Gauff would give her errors. Another great win for two time Madrid champion Simona Halep.
