The more I see of this project, the more I'm impressed by the attention to detail. Just one section would be quite an ambitious build for most people, so you really are creating something very special indeed. Absolutely marvellous!
I painted the whole station 20+ years ago before joining the big railways so to speak. Have to say you are making an absolutely fantastic job of this. Really makes me feel I'm there. Hope to see it at an exhibition at some point.
I bet that took some time! Thank you for your comments - especially as you know the railway so well. I hope to exhibit one day in the future - fingers crossed!
Awe inspiring as always Andy. Your attention to getting the details correct says it all about your skill & passion with this build. When will it be ready for me to collect.. 😂😂
It's starting to look like you were really there. Loving your attention to minute detail and even showing where you decided things weren't quite as you wanted so turned to another solution. Gradual progress, looking forward to next ep👍👍👍👍
Looks so good! Great work as usual, wow what a project this is turning out to be. Out of interest, why resin and not PVA for the water? I'm just testing PVA at the moment for my river scene
Thank you! The project is getting too big and I’m almost out space! I like resin as it levels itself and dries clear. However, I’ve often thought that on a rocky stream, I could get away with just using gloss mod podge.
@@DartsideScenics Matt modge podge seems to dry quite well from my testers, and the uneven setting seems to emulate fast flowing water... At least in testing... nervous about doing it on the layout mind you😕
I grew up by this railway line, my dad was a volunteer there and as a kid i got to blow the whistle and wave the train off just like the train guard. Staverton is a beautiful part of the line and a reminder of how stunning the English countryside with a steam engine looks. I used to make the scenery on my brother's model railway. Id love to see you incorporate lots of the surrounding countryside, perhaps the whole thing from Ashburton to Totnes, there was great model of Ashburton station at Buckfastleigh the last time i was there. Really good stuff man,
thanks for the video. I’ve not weathered my track yet. I’m doing TT 120. Do you need to clean the Rails off to give the locomotives a good connection? So the current maintains a good flow to the pick up wheels? Thanks Steve
Yes…otherwise the paint layer will prevent / reduce conductivity between the train and track resulting in either total or intermittent/ jerky running….👍
@@stevio7777 you can use a track rubber but you can also use a fine grade sanding sponge or fine grade emery cloth on a wood block. Whatever you use the purpose is to remove only the paint on the track that would be in direct contact with the wheel(s)….👍
Hi Andy. Really impressed with the concrete posts, that’s just so good. The bridge too. Looking forward to the next one. Keep up the good work. 😀
Thanks Mark. See you soon 👍🏻
Yes 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Dartside’s back!!!
I’ll be watching this again later on the big screen when the gang’s all gone to bed…😀
😂 my face isn’t in this one so it’s safe to watch on the big screen! 🤣

Hi Andy loving the scenics as they're coming together. The wooded areas are particularly good, very realistic. Excellent video once again cheers Andy
Thanks very much Andy

Thanks Ian, that’s very kind 😊
Well done, Andy.
I can almost hear someone saying "What, mate? No brambles?" Loved the overall look of it and how it's slowly coming together.
Cheers.
Thank you. 😂yes, it’s getting there but still lots to do!

Thanks Phil! To be honest, it needs a home as I’m running out of space!
Really impressive as ever - wish my fencing holes were as accurate!!! Thank you for the update and the running session which is delightful.
Thank you Alex 😁
Great video again, the signal at the Buckfastleigh end of Staverton is facing the wrong way though 👍
Thank you. I meant to change the signal! I plonked it in place and before filming, meant to check which way it should face but forgot! 😂
Those are coming along very nicely. Looking very good. 👍
Thank you William 👍🏻

Ah, nice memories and I completely agree that Staverton is beautiful. Thanks for watching 😁
Hi Andy, hope you’re well mate! Yet another top class video, I don’t know how you had the patience with the point rodding 😂 class job mate as ever.
Good thanks Craig, I hope you’re well. Hopefully catch up with you soon. Yes, that point rodding took ages!!
@@DartsideScenics yeah definitely would be good to meet up again buddy.
This is looking fantastic! Can't wait to see it finished. Keep up the good work 👏
Thanks Chris, I’m looking forward to finishing it! It’s great to see your channel doing well 👍🏻
Been a while, but as always well worth the wait.
Thank you Laurence

Superb, as always. 💯
Thanks Liam! When I get this section finished, it would be great to get a 3d scanned figure of you for Staverton platform 👍🏻
Well worth the wait, it's looking fantastic!
