So my Icon A5 has a BRS Chute, and I learned a heck of a lot more about it in this video than everything Icon has described and published. Thank you for the outstanding informational description!!
Hi Brett, what are you opinions on the A5 so far? I have done intro flights but just haven't been able to pull the trigger quite yet. For some reason, im not a fan of Rotax engines as i just feel like im driving a snowmobile in the sky. But despite all of that, I still think I will make it happen. Would be curious to hear your thoughts, however.
@@DavidDavid-jb1cy LOVE, LOVE my A5. Pull the trigger, you won't regret it. The Rotax is a great engine, has a terrific track record, especially the 912 IS. No leaning, no carb heat, always always starts within 1 - 2 seconds of turning the key. Keep enough fuel in the tanks, it won't disappoint you.
Truly a text book best friend friendship. I am truly inspired and grateful to have fallen onto this channel. Believe me Mike when I see you if ever. It will be a hug before a handshake. You can bet on that my friend. God speed and get back to work!
Yup, I found my “Ron” so I know exactly how you and Ron work, feel and live you lives together. My best friend and I lived in different towns 35 miles apart. We met each other about 1962 when we were in junior high school because we both joined the Civil Air Patrol. Close friends early on, we both joined the military, Bob right out of high school, me after college. When we met again after our military service, years had passed. I was married, he had a couple of times, but the intervening years disappeared in an instant upon our meeting. I still cherish Bob though he was claimed by cancer in 2014. I know no one can take his place but if a “Ron” comes into my life I will welcome him. Oh, nice custom Tug too.
Mike, you gave Ron a second chance when most companies would turn him away. He is proving himself everyday for you and that explains why he is so productive. This is called "true friendship".
Mr Patey. I gain more respect for you after every video I watch. This one was the best. To stand by your friend is extremely admirable. Ron I have huge respect for you as well. It’s not the mistakes that makes a man it’s how you deal with those mistakes and you sir are a great success. Kudos to you both.
This is the most underrated and underfollowed channel on UA-cam. You are the best roll model, Mike. What a privelidge to live in the same world as such an amazing talent with such an amazing attitude. Thank you so much. (I'd give my right testicle to work with you 😂)
I work as a Corrections Officer in a different State. I’m glad to see Ron having success after his release. Ironically, I work in the Intake area of the facility that I work at and deal with every inmate that comes into our facility, and who leaves our facility. I’m really glad to see Mike being a good friend to Ron and helping him to continue having success after his release. In the State that I work in, we are constantly trying to find new ways to help reduce recidivism. Unfortunately, the percentages of inmates that get out usually end up re-offending and coming back in again to our system. Generally speaking, unless an inmate is set up and has a good support on the outside, they will usually end up doing something that either revokes their parole or community housing (1/2 way house) or they do something that brings a new set of charges. I’ve worked as a Corrections Officer for 13 1/2 years. The last 10 of which has been in the Intake area of the prison that I work at. I absolutely love seeing and/or hearing success stories of ex inmates. And at the same time, I also hate it when I see them come back into the system again. I really do want to see all of them succeed once they get released, and not come back in. I want them to become law abiding citizens and who also become productive members of society. Keep up the hard work Ron! We are all pulling for you! I love seeing you be a success story instead of another statistic!
Mike. I have been following you from before Scrappy Build, the Draco days ( about two and half years). This has been by far the most Heart warming in two ways. First your friendship with Ron. Not many can be and remain true friends like that. Second, the ''heart'' as the rocket launched the parachute. Priceless. A moment in time. Also what most did not pick up is that it was Scrappy's not ''fully exposed'' trip out of the hangar, out on its own wheels by Best Tugs.. Now ''get back to work''.
I've been scratching my head for MONTHS trying to figure out how in the world you could possibly be so unbelievably productive . . . now I know, you have a RON!

FORTY-EIGHT MINUTES! I knew good things come to those who wait. Sunday made. Keep 'em coming Mike!
Love everything about this video! Spent the day hanging out with Mike and his Wife at the Reno air show last year and we had a blast! He and his wife are truly incredibly and kind people! Love the videos Mike, keep them coming! Also, seeing you give your best buddy all the recognition, love and appreciation that he deserves was sooo incredible! That was easily my favorite part of ANY video you’ve ever created!
That was an amazing video and story about you and Ron and how your friendship has survived a lot of trials. Restoration stories are always the best. Thank you for sharing sir and thank you Ron for allowing Mike to share your story. I'm sure that helped someone else out there too, it certainly spoke to my heart. You two do amazing work and have a friendship worth more than any amount of money or things the world could ever offer. Thanks again, now get back to work. Haha
I met Ron (and you) in Valdez last year. What a great story. Great guy indeed.
Again! I put everything on hold for a Patey vid
Then I'll be "Back to work"
Same bahaha
LOL ... sp true ... Mikes always at work ...busy distracting us innocent people. I'm like wondering when am I going back to work!!?? (Good one @TMB247)
Congrats on a successful test Mike. And it was a pleasure to be introduced to to your friend Ron. I don't know much about what your wonderful achievements have shown but I was raised in a machine shop and I tip my hat to you for your great builds and success. I enjoy watching smart people. Wish you all the very best.
@@brettwest549 thanks for that reply. Much appreciated!
Love your guys story!
Who needs enemies when we can have friends like that. The world needs more of that today.
Scrappy handled that launch like a champ. A testament to engineering. Great Job!
Mike, you gave Ron a second chance when most companies would turn him away. He is proving himself everyday for you and that explains why he is so productive. This is called "true friendship".
We love Ron too.
Like, then View!
It’s Mightnight here in Germany,
And school tomorrow!
But Patty vid First!
Love the Content!
Love you Ron!
Scrappy Fans sind überall auf der Welt 😉
Yup just watching it here from belgium.
@@vwdutch and here in the UK :0)
So glad to meet you, Ron. I'm so glad you agreed to be on camera.
I'm not crying, you're crying!......thanks for sharing this. We need more of it in this world. The BRS was cool too.
Mr Patey. I gain more respect for you after every video I watch. This one was the best. To stand by your friend is extremely admirable. Ron I have huge respect for you as well. It’s not the mistakes that makes a man it’s how you deal with those mistakes and you sir are a great success. Kudos to you both.
I love it! "Whats a crescent wrench?" We all started somewhere!
That was awesome!!!! Your backstory on Ron was truly inspiring. Thanks for getting him in front of the camera..
The problem with most of us males is we don't get into these valuable friendships. When I say valuable, I mean priceless!
This is the most underrated and underfollowed channel on UA-cam. You are the best roll model, Mike. What a privelidge to live in the same world as such an amazing talent with such an amazing attitude. Thank you so much.
(I'd give my right testicle to work with you 😂)
OMG, "this is the very best bad idea, we have so far, sir" Just watched "ARGO" this weekend. Best inserted clip EVAR, Mike!!!!!
Everybody saying "i need a ron", hell i need a mike. Lol!
