Which VPA do you like? 1 1/4? And do you use a brass insert or something? I’m new to this and I bought 300 grain field tios with the plan of shooting 300 grain broadheads. The VPA representative suggested the 1 1/8 inch 3 blade in my 46-49 pound recurve. But now I’m wondering if I need to add an insert to strengthen my arrows. Not sure if it’s necessary or not. If not, I’ll just get the 300 grain broad head, but I may need to get the 200 grain and a 100 grain insert.
Ooo, that's a lot to answer… I prefer the 1 1/8. More importantly, my arrow tune is determines my head weight. If my arrows are flying stiff, I will add more head weight. If they are flying weak, I will reduce my head weight. Make sense? Sometimes, on different bows, you have to do different combos. For example, one of my setups requires 300 grains up front to tune correctly. So I shoot 200g heads with a 100g insert. My other setup requires 200grains up front so I shoot a 200g head. My other setup requires 250 upfront, so I shoot 100 grain insert with a 150g head…. It's all about building an arrow that tunes (flies) well. Don't get caught up in just having a heavy arrow or broadhead. Check out The Push or Clay Hayes for tuning tips.
I get that question a lot :) It is a little design a made a few years ago. The symbols all of have a meaning to me. God, family, outdoors etc type thing. Just something little I do and put on some of packs and quivers.
Great setup and good tips! Thank you

Awesome video man. What kind of design is that on your quivers? Just curious

@jessejohnson_tx i gotcha. That's a pretty cool design man.
Excellent pack dump and gear layout. I too use the pillow cases to pack out hogs and southern deer the same way. Over the shoulder like santa.
Where do you think I learned it from? ;)
what size vortex are you using , great video
