99% of my hunting is on public land. However, I recently got permission to hunt a tiny piece of private land. Unfortunately, in order to draw deer in, I will have to use bait to attract deer to the property.

Hey Jesse, i was gonna try n message you through the pbs but i havent got the navigation down yet n how to find members but , i noticed you hunt alot with 3 blades im interested in the woodsmans also and was curious from experience which is better vented or non ? I notice that alot of people run vented even though they are supposed to be louder but ive seen uou take hame with both so i figured id ask
Hey man! Either or works…BUT vented does make a “hiss” or whistle noise in flight. It bugs me! Haha, I'm sure it wouldn't affect things, but I prefer the non-vented for that simple reason. I've been successful with both. Don't sweat it if the hiss doesn't bother you. 😃 VPA and Woodsman are one and the same. Either or works. Watch Robert Carters video on sharpening. Simple file and strop.
Throw out giant wad of night crawlers on your hook.
I catch some good catfish in that area using cut bait :)
@@jessejohnson_tx IT works well. I use the live because I never know when a large mouth bass may decide to take it when I throw out or reel in.

Johnson, No one has a perfect record of catching fish 🎣 each trip or killing a game animal on every hunt. Part of the joy of hunting and fishing is the element of surprise. No one endeavors to go thinking “Well I won’t be catching a lunker Bass this morning” or “Oh well James shot the last Big Buck in the county last week I might as well give up” you don’t do that! 😂 ❤

How do you keep the needle point of a Zwicky Broad head from folding over on impact?
I have had it happen before..no way avoid it. Heavy bone is going to curl it. This is part of the reason I switched over to 3 blade with chisel tips.

I was lucky enough (because of my age) that I was able to talk to Paul a couple of years before he had his accident. He built me a longbow with 2 sets of limbs. I retired it after his death and me and my buddy Clyde Musick still have it. You have a great bow!

I have to say...I'm 57 and have been bowhunting obsessively for 34 years with both compounds and stickbows. I just found your channel and these are by far some of the best videos I've ever seen. So well done, narrated well, edited well, just enough music in the right spots, respectful of the game, and enjoying the little things along the way that most videos skip over. So glad to have found the channel. 👍
