Thanks for this. Really tempted to go for the Deus 2 for its light weight and depth of target but put off by the price. Going for the Master really brings it in range. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.
I was skeptical at first so I only bought the WS6 master. After using it for the last 2 months I have fell in love with it! Well I was on the pre order for the Manticore until yesterday...lol I cnx that order and ordered the deus2 remote instead.
thx. was looking into dues 2 but so confused on which 1 is dues 2 then see the puck and remote. the puck looked like it was the head phones. soo confusing but u made it soo clear now thx
The puck does not have the Beach P program that the original remote has, but I created a modification of the beach sensitive Program on the puck, but with a few changes , including the pitch tones. Very helpful video. Scott, lots of good information.
Doug pretty soon you will be the master of the master. Sounds like you are picking it up nicely. I'll have a Deep HC "Coin" program you will want here in a week or so. :-)
Hey Scott, you might not know this but the standard shaft cuff if length adjustable. Yours is set on the standard setting (short). Remove the cuff screw, slide it out one notch, now it will be the same length as the lightweight. Now they both will feel good swinging.
Would have been nice to have a little more explanation of what a tone is and what is a tone break. Don’t have a Deus, but thinking about it. But loved the video!
Great video, Scott. Lots of good info for the user who is on the fence about which model to obtain. Also, if you already have a Deus II full, one could assemble a second Deus with the addition of a few minor components, plus a coil. Thanks, Scott. 😎
I've never used the XY screen on my deus one as I do not like it, but it wouldn't be a problem for them to add it to the puk, especially as the puk can change to large numbers.. I'm sure they could program it to put a line across the screen..
I'm looking for an in the field test between the two. I have the Lite - Is it worth buying the control for full deus 2? (I feel like I need the X/Y screen to stop digging false positive iron targets and other junk)
They both perform the same but the XY is a nice tool but its the tones that matter the most. Try using it with PWM tones for awhile and turn 90 degrees when you get a good target. If the numbers jump a lot, then its probably trash. If you only see the numbers by 1 or 2, then I would dig it. I don't think buying the remote the price increase just to have XY is worth it IMO.
Scott you have 13 programs instead of 12 in your master? What version are you running? I never heard of Beach P. My Deus II remote has only 12 preset programs.
Thanks a lot for the comparison, it really makes sense. Questions: Should I assume power into the ground is the same for the Remote and WS6 meaning the power is generated in the Coil? Also, do you think the computing power of the Remote and WS6 is the same? Can you buy the lighter Shaft with either the Remote or the WS6 package? TIA for the feedback.
_Should I assume power into the ground is the same for the Remote and WS6 meaning the power is generated in the Coil?_ Anser is yes and I believe you can buy either shaft. Check with your dealer for even better call John at Fort Bedford (his number is in the description of the video). He just ordered one for my friend Allen.
Thx for the video Scott.when u say the ws6 is water resistant, does that mean it can be operated safely in a downpour?,it tends to rain quite a bit here in Ireland lol.
Hey Scott, if I use my Deus 2 in the WS6 Master mode, any ideas about puck life as it has to receive coil info and send it to the phones now. Also, if I'm hearing you right, the WS6 puck can take a day of rain detecting? Good vid man.
Here is what I got from their website: Battery life: Headphones 12 hours - Coil up to 20 hours depending on programs and frequencies, regarding rain they say "Rainproof WS6 module"
@@jaystrongbow6111 All multi uses more power and the lower the frequencies being used( like in deep HC as you mentioned) the more power it takes, even in mono modes. You could probably double your coil time by running say 20khz mono or something. This works on almost every multi machine honestly. So if you're in a pinch becasue you forgot to recharge, a mid to high mono frequency will add a lot of time to your hunt.
Great to know. All I care about is the performance, I have a simplex that does great in the water, and decent on the beach. But I'm a relic hunter with some worn out civil war spots I'd like to hit with a better detector. I believe I'm gonna get one.
Can you have the puck on the shaft and still use the WS6 headphones. There seems to be confusion on this. At least I'm confused. Does the puck connect to the headphones wirelessly or do you need the wsa2 module? Thanks
I asked my Hunting Camp Friends to subscribe to your channel, as you asked, in this fine tutorial video ...they were not interested, sorry my friend.....
So for 600 bucks more, difference is navigating a little harder and what else, thanks, gee 700 bucks was 6 master good deal. Oh also where does the master ms compare to the manticore

its such a great machine and when they do the next update I think whatever advantage the Manticore has will be null in void, at least I hope so ;-)
Thank you for this explanation...thinking about adding a detector to my collection and the WS6 Master just might be the one!!
Good choice!

Nice presentation/explanation. Thanks for shortening the learning curve💪🏻
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video. I need a backlit screen because I hunt a lot at night. I wanted the WS6 but i guess ill have to wait.
yeah sorry no backlit screen with the WS6.
@@MentalMetalI think I need it. How reliable is the waterproof system? I'm in the water a lot.

Take a look at the my coin setup. I go over those 2 items pretty in depth.
Great video Scott, really like the new intro. Great info and learning video to help choose which model fits a user's needs. Give Rocky a hug.
Thanks Steve!
Nice pace, good sound. Clear and concise. Well done.
Many thanks!

Yep you can get the most out of this machine for sure. Either version is awesome.
Thanks for the help Scott! Any feedback on how the remote unit is performing underwater; will it out perform my p.i. that i use for diving?
I have had no issues with remote underwater as long as you have the antenna mounted correctly. Thanks for watching!
Excellent review thank you
Very welcome

@@MentalMetal My bad I still had 7.0
BTW...you are awesome with your instructional video's...keep it up with the deus...
Thanks I sure will but I may have to throw in some new Nox videos ;)
Difference in weight between the 2 shafts is less than 100 grams (a really small apple weight)

I'm not sure I would be out in a downpour. But a little rain they can handle.
Just put a clear bag over it. 😁
How good is the WS6 Master in gold prospecting mode?
Sorry my friend, I don't have the opportunity to gold prospect so I can't answer you on that one.

Do they get the same depth and discrimination or is the wsg weaker in those areas?
They operate and perform the same. No difference in performance.
Thank you so much for thr response. Strongly considering getting one but I don't want a lesser performing machine.
You are not losing anything except a speaker and the "puck" is not waterproof so thats something to think about. But the performance is the same.

If you detach the WS6 from the headphones, the headphones are dead. The puck powers them.
@@MentalMetal bummer. Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to decide between the 700 and WS6.

I see it's been 7 months I'm curious to which you went for?
The screw for diving is on the bottom. Not the back.
Thanks Jay yes that is correct. I've never changed mine but I should have pointed that out better thanks.
Awesome information :)
Thanks for watching!
Update v2.0 has notch 1, notch 2, notch 3, on the puck

Its a D2 just in a smaller package so its right up there with the Manticore. They are the top 2 IMO.
master ws6 tres leger very light
