Hey mate it’s Paul from Aussie coin Hunter youtube channel here. I’ve just left the garrett family and got myself an xp deus 2 after leaving my last job. Thanks for your video mate!, what a massive learning curve but I’m glad you’ve got videos out there for me. Tossing up wether or not to end my channel as no one seems interested he he he. Thanks for who you are mate. You’ve helped me in the past also. All the best to you and your family
Just about a perfect presentation! You are soooo much better than the other guys "trying" to demonstrate. Thanks for placing the head up and in perfect view of the camera. No guessing which buttons you are pushing.
Going through all of your "XP Deus 2 for beginners" series videos. Extremely well done, can't thank you enough for making my introduction to the XP Deus2 that much smoother! 👍
Thanks Scott for the really thorough video, you are one of the best at showing how to use the D2, I like that you test so many targets and compare. That #4 looks like a killer!
Love the video. Other guys don’t show it clearly. Or in the actual hunts to show numbers on targets. Etc. They don’t look to see if we can see. Cause the glare of the sun. Etc. Especially for guys like me new to this. And I orderred the deus 2. And gonna be learning it. So videos like this truly help!! Subscribed and watch all your videos. (:
Great demonstration. I’m glad I found your channel. I have the Deus 1 and my hubby has bought me Deus 2. I’m back to the beginning learning all over again. In six weeks I’m off to a rally in the UK to search an area that was a Roman settlement. I’m wondering which program should I use as a beginner with this machine.
If you have the new update, General is a good one to start with but learn Sensitive Full Tones. Ultimately, that program is the one you will want for a lot of conditions. If you are after coins check out the custom coin program I've done.
I wish you used rings of various metals with this example. I'm a CTX guy and think this may be my new standard screen to use on the saltwater beach! Thanks Scott
I am trying to learn all I can before my Deus II arrives but after watching videos on its settings I feel a bit overwhelmed. I hope with hours on it and experience it all becomes much easier for me. Good video Scott
Its not that bad, if you start chasing all of these other programs people build you will struggle. Learn the stock stuff first then start making some slight changes and it will come together for you. Thanks for watching!
Really a piece of cake to work. Best to start in General for a few hours. Like anything else, your brain will get it. Just takes a little longer as we ripen.
When hunting in heavy Iron, is the only way u can cut out the iron so mostly good targets come in , I used to like the horse shoe feature on the nox 800 , was very easy to silence the iron on the nox
Silencer is the setting to cut out iron. The higher you increase the number the more it cancels out iron. But you have to find a good balance otherwise you will lose other targets and/or lose depth. I never go higher than 3.
I’ve had the D2 for a few weeks now and haven’t been able to get any deep targets other than big iron and aluminum. I took it to a favorite spot of mine where I dig 8 to 9 inch IHC’s, barbers and even a Morgan with the nox 800 and it just sounds like a machine gun when I open it up, not emi just an old 1800’s fairgrounds site that moved in about 1908. It bangs on shallow stuff, targets no deeper than about 5 inches The horseshoe for depth I’ve figured out but a quick switch button to go to xy without all the button pushing would be handy. I will say I have pulled a couple of silvers with it but they could have been found with any machine only about 3 inches deep Not giving up as I know it’s new and I’m new to deus technology but for now I use it for a while to try and learn a little and it goes back in the truck and nox comes out to seriously detect. I’ve dug more trash in February than I did in a year with the nox. I keep hearing its tonal and man a high tone sounds like a high tone 90% of the time to me so it’s kicking my butt so far. I’m looking forward to a few programs that help. Xy did help a little but I still found it looking good and being fooled more than pleased. I am going to use the zoom 4 next time out. Depth is biggest concern though it’s got to be able to hit deeper than I’m making it go or it will be third backup behind my simplex. 😵💫
Tony give it some more time, the secret is in the tones. I've been digging some pretty deep coins with in in Park as well as Deep HC. You may need to adjust your silencer and reactivity. Remember, the lower the reactivity the more depth you will get. The D2 is plenty fast even at Reactivity of 1. Also, if you are using full tones you may want to try and knock it down to 3. Just my 2 cents.
Wooow… now that I’m understanding it more. Great for coins for sure. Thanks for the video! I wonder how a gold or silver ring would’ve looked? Wondering if it would have looked like the pull tab or foil reading?
Gold will be a solid line just like silver. But its not 100%. The XY screen is a tool to use but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I put 2 program back to back where one is using the XY display and other isn't so I can do a quick comparison if I need to check a target.
Well done. I put one of these out too on the XPD2. My cinematography skills are still lacking though. Liked this one. Square tones in general I'm going to try next. I to use the XY on coins. Hope XP gives us an opportunity to get rid of all the over info on top. Maybe a VDI in one of the corners. The XY is a bit cropped and crowded.
Thanks yeah i totally agree the X and Y is a little crowded and I would like to see the target ID show up in the middle of the screen in big numbers LOL, my eyesight is starting to go.
Excellent video! I think your right #4 is the way to go. :) It looks like the Deus 2 is going to be hard to beat as far as a all-around detector. Would like to see some depth test on it if you have a test garden of coins and relics. I have a 27-year-old test garden with relics and coins in it that I use to run settings on with my 800 and AT Max. :)
I think the number is really going to depend once you get out in the field. I had to adjust mine to 5 today 4 just wasn't enough. I agree on the test garden idea. I need to make one. I have a few things buried.
Great video, its a shame so far the xy is not as stable as the deus 1, as you know on the d1 it will flutter a tad but i noticed on relic the line dances around loads more, hence my chosen word unstable.
Based on what I've shown in this video, I've changed some things around and I will have a better coin program video out in a few days and its a killer plus you can use it for relics with some slight modifications.
Thank you sir! I've been on the ATP for the last 8 years so I'm use to the 3 tones already. I set one up on general and notched stuff out but it seems with the D2 the VDI is so high for a quarter you have to listen to all the trash thats in the 90s! I'm new with it but learning quick. I lived off the tone of the deep targets having a very low response and see the D2 has a setting you can adjust and keep your volume turned up too.
These videos are perfect... I hope these manufacturers take notice to your hard work. Ive been on the fence about My upgrade from the nox 800. D2, 900, or manticore. I was leaning towards the 900 but now because of these videos im SERIOUSLY considering jumping from minelab all together and buying the deus 2. With all that you know now, and if you only owned an equinox 800. Which of the three would you buy?
Thanks Luke, I like both companies and right now its a toss up between the Manticore and Deus 2 for me. But the 900 is right up there. Don't shut the WS6 Master out of the running. If your budget is tight that thing is just as good as the Deus 2 for a lot less.
Hey Scott, zoom level of 4 is muy bueno. The slope seems to be the key indicator here. So if you can view a lot of the slope, it's a better indicator. Like another commenter below stated, zooming in on the fringe coins might be ideal way to ID them. Another reviewer stated the XY screen lies too, just like VDI. Just like all machines do. So, is the 'Nox going to be your backup detector now?😎
The x&y is def not full proof. I like it cos it gives you additional info to determine if you should dig the target or not. Is the NOX my back up now? I don't just yet. I think the NOX with that 10x5 Coiltek coil is magical. I should know more by summer on what I'm going to do. Right now, its the D2 just because I'm trying to learn it.
Thanks Jerry, my coin program in this video was just a test program. I'll have a better one and when I get it where I want it I will share in a a video for you.
Oh absolutely, anything after 6-8 inches may change the numbers a bit (not a lot) after you get past 8 you should expect a bigger change but if you leave your audio response at 4 you will hear the depth difference. As far as the XY display anything over 6" is a best guess. Its just a tool to help you decide to dig it or not.
Really good video on the XY screen. Found your channel through searches on the D2 and really glad I did. My D2 isn't here yet but you are lowering my learning curve by using and testing your machine as I would. I have a special rope 14k chain I bought years ago that most of all the machines I've owned couldn't hit (best was a gold bug pro)....can't wait to see if the D2 can hit on that chain. If it does, it will be a keeper.
Some preset programs will hit the rope chain, VDI 32, (I just did air tests yesterday) but in all of the factory programs there is no tone so you will need to "un notch" 32
