I thought of a little concept: What if pups had a chance to be born with disabilities? (Obviously the lower the diversity between you and your mate the higher the chance this happens) Like if a pup is blind: -They'll have trouble following the pack to a new den/rendezvous site and will have to be picked up -They have a higher chance of wandering far from the den and becoming lost -They will of course respond to the wood command but they may go the wrong way and have to put into the den manually If a pup is deaf: -They won't respond to any voice emotes; they won't join in during a pack howl and worse, they'll respond to a woof warning them of danger much later than their siblings. As for what happens when they grow up...I don't know
I can see where you are going with this. Maybe not blind as such but visually impaired, so when playable at the end you have a buffer for how well you can spot things like objects, other animals and incoming danger. Deafness the same hearing impaired so you cant hear other close wolves howl as well, or you dont always hear a bird attacking ect.
This is all great, but I think that a wolf would raise this pup and it would die off very quickly. Wolves depend on seeing one another's movements and body language to communicate. This also goes for hearing. This would be an amazing update, but it would be difficult to raise a pup like that.
That would actually be really cool! Maybe it wouldn't work out if they decide to make another big update where we can actually have the pups stay with us when they are adults. Unless they make it so you cannot play as the wolves with the disabilities? For example if they grow up and decide to stay in the pack the blind wolves wouldn't be able to hunt and could put the pack in danger, and possibly predators would go after them more often.
I actually am randomizing chances like that! I can't do anything when they're pups but when they're adults: Deaf: Kills all the sound. Mutes everything, music, in game sounds, etc. Blind: Only scent view, and cannot use the map unless you're marking a location (it would be a kind of memory thing). It's not greatly thought out but shh
1:40 Hallelujah! For some reason, it is always group I do not want that chases off the wolf/wolves I am interested in. It can take forever to shake them off and track down the wolf I wanted. So glad I can finally tell them to take a hike.
This update reminds me of a time when I was working on getting the ‘rejected by potential mate’ achievement and had succeeded in getting my mate to dump me…but later on I came across the dispersal males my previous mate had been with…and sure enough he was there with them again. Was not at all happy that his siblings were interested in hanging around me lol. He very much hated me but was too skiddish to start a fight and I could chase him a ways off if I wanted him to stop harassing me…but he’d always come back if I continued to stay around them. But yeah, talk about an awkward situation. 😂 He didn’t know what to do. Poor guy..
@@lurkin8418 It takes a really long time…you basically have to completely ignore them. Don’t respond with a positive emote if they try to interact with you, just growl or snarl at them throughout the day-especially when they try to interact with u-that seems to bring their affinity down quicker. Don’t fight other predators, wolves, or claim pack territory with them, it’ll raise affinity. Also don’t hunt. Unless you’re catching rabbits. Hunting anything else that involves teamwork will boost the affinity too. You’ll have to keep you and your mate alive with rabbits or unguarded carcasses.
I wonder how the saga will end. As in real life, if one partner dies, the pack doesnt just completely spread, does it? Ive heard stories where one of the older siblings would kinda take over raising the left pups and then get pups themselves with their own mate or smth. Whatll happen in the saga? Just the end, like we're used to, or will it be maybe possible to continue it somehow with a pup? Or smth?
Question! If you can see other dispersals courting each other does that mean they might do so successfully? And if so would that mean the longer you wait the less potential mates are out there? Seeing as they already have a mate
a tip in game about having a buffer zone around your home hex would be really helpful, i think what you said about "stranger wolves don't care about how big your territory is if they only have to travel one hex to get to your pups!" would work really well!
This is amazing! I've always had the thought of what if I could see other dispersals courting! Does this mean you could see other dispersals like yourself with a mate in Amethyst mountain? That would be so interesting. I love the concept! I have a suggestion relating to this idea and the saga! When playing as your pups that are ready to leave the pack and take a mate, could it be possible for siblings to follow you as you look for a mate? I'd love that idea so players would have an extra aspect to playing as a pup! So many intriguing ideas get added to WolfQuest 3! I can't wait to play it in its full, realistic, beautiful game play. Bless the wolfquest team for working so hard!
I don’t believe playing as a pup will be a feature. You can play as your pups after you’ve finished the game and they’re fully grown, which then they’ll be accessible in your family tree to play and restart the game with.
the courtship feature sounds super cool, sounds pretty interesting that you have to show you arent aggressive! Overall im quite excited for the patch to come out, and ill definitely try getting a mate with this new feature
Hey I have a request/question I guess! How come the mates can’t do the sniff/lick/chin rest emotes? Maybe they could ask permission to do that to you in case say, you were trying to fight/hunt. I’ve always wondered if they could do that and none of the mates so far just don’t, but I’ve been playing this game ever since it came out, so I assume it’s not a thing! I’d really appreciate it if in a future patch you could add more mate interaction!! If not I totally understand:) thanks for making such a wonderful game and putting so much research and effort into it
So awesome!! I always thought that stranger wolves of the opposite sex being immediately friendly to you if they’re considered “dispersal” in the code didn’t make any sense given the context that they’re still part of the pack and would always drive out a lone wolf unless they show interest, so I’m glad the stranger courtship is getting a revision! And FINALLY there’s sense in making good territory to drive out neighboring strangers!
I am very excited for all the new updates for WQ this year! Another idea I had for an update is: blind eyes, and the ability to choose what season it is when in a slough creek multiplayer game, that way, if so players can’t do the whole saga, can go to the season they want with ease. Hope you all are doing well in this crazy time and I hope we see more of tower fall and lost river soon!
I'm very excited over this update! I think it's great to have a more defined way of meeting stranger wolves from neighboring packs than for them to show up at random. I'm also glad that now if multiple groups are trying to court, you can growl at one and chose who you'd like.
When I was courting a possible mate, two rival dispersals came in and tried courting the exact same one so I ran far from them since they tried to attack me, then circled around and finished courting my mate while the rival dispersals were busy howling their "Victory" lol.
I kinda wanna see disabilities. *Blind* -Lag behind when traveling -Take longer to get into den -Has a 75% of usually loners, lazy and cautious -Has a 25% chance of happening -Has a 90% of being the smallest -10% of being biggest -More vulnerable to Predators -Have a 85% chance of wandering off -More likely to (when a adult) run away from fights -Stay in scent view except for when trying to get mate and looking at pup(as a adult) *Deaf* -Dont respond to voice emotes -Respond much later to warning woofs -Sound is depleted -More likely to be Social, Energetic, and Cautious -More likely to die -More likely to have a small litter *Mute* -Can't howl -Mimic when howling or doing voice emote -More likely are Loners, Eneregtic and bold -More likely to die *Deformed leg* -Have slow speed -Less stamina -More likely Social, Lazy, and cautious -Lag behind when traveling -Last one in the den 99% of the time -Have a 45% chance of wandering off and a 5% chance of getting too far *Dwarfism*(Pretty sure its not in the game) -Smallest pup, lagging by about 4.1 pounds -Have a 86% of least 3 negative stats -Usually Cautious, Social, and Lazy. -Usually get sick more often -Stay out of strong winds *Anxiety* -Usually Cautious, Loners, and Energetic -Usually hide from predators -Listen to player/mate/sibling immediately I cant think of anything else.
I think it would be cool if we could be born in another pack later in the game and grow up and get a role or something like that i love this game keep up the good work
Wolves don’t have “roles” Alpha, Beta, Omega, etc don’t exist. It’s just one big family unit with the mom and dad being the breeding pair. The children will leave if they want to mate, creating their own packs/family.
I agree, I've always thought about this (minus the roles, since they don't exist, as the one above said). It would be cool to experience life as a pup, then a yearling, then a dispersal... Mostly I've always thought about how being able to disperse on your own would be implemented. Would you have full control over it, or would the game force a particular timeframe on you based on various factors (like pack size to territory ratio)? Would a sibling decide to disperse, and you'd have to decide if you were going with them or not? Things like this
I'm so excited, you guys put in so much effort into this game to make it more interesting and realistic. Thank you guys so much for all of your hard work! I can't wait to see the WolfQuest Saga and everything else you guys are going to do. Make sure not to overwork yourselves though! Keep up the great work! :)
It’s cool that you have a chance to see other dispersals getting mates too, i love how detailed this game is, even small features are added and it’s insane! Keep up the awesome work 😊
@@Raxor_ur-mom Development would slow way down if they were to work on both platforms at the same time. With phones especially, their OSs get constant updates, which leads to apps having to be updated as well for compatibility. We wouldn't be seeing new features at the frequency we currently do as so much time would be wasted on that. I understand that it's frustrating - I'd love to be able to play WQ on my phone too, since my laptop is reaching potato stage. But we have to face the reality that this isn't what's best for the game
I've had this cute little idea that maybe you can lick your pups I've seen a lot of videos of wolves licking there pups to like to clean them off and i think it will be more realistic that way but I love the stuff your doing and I love this game I've even tould some people about it and they seem to like it to so keep up the amazing work.
I’m glad to hear that courting wolves from rival packs is gonna be easier. I can’t stand the junction butte and can’t wait to snag a mate from their own ranks
I love all the updates that have come over the last few years. It is so amazing to have seen how everything has evolved since the start. All the developers have worked so hard to get to this point, and they just keep trucking on. An interesting update I think it would be cool, if in courtship you could join with multiple members. Like if you encounter a pack of 2 dispersals, then you accept 1 of them as a mate. The other being a sibling, could follow and still be a part of the pack.
I've been reading those books! They're super interesting! I love every update that comes to this game, making things more and more realistic, the work you guys do is amazing!
Hey ! I already commented in some videos but this time in this comment I will not say something so "Relevant" but today I finally managed to buy WolfQuest 3 and I'm very, very happy! My experience is being great, like the one I had in all other versions !
oh thank god it was always so annoying how the other group of dispersals didn't catch the hint and I would have to keep going to chase the ones I want and wait for them to court again then only for it to get messed up cause the other group would come back
every update this game gets i am so happy to see. i’ve been playing this game since 2010/2011, and it’s come SO far, it’s absolutely astounding!! i’m so keen to see where you finish this game off at. one suggestion i do have is more ways to interact with your mate. and i mean like ordering them to go do things, such as mark the territory or go hunting without you. idk how wolf interactions work irl or if this would even be compatible with the game, but it was just a thought i had :-))
I’m really loving these updates, I love how much time you made for this game. And I love how it’s about nature, and wolves. Thank you for making this game. I really appreciate it.
This game literally makes you feel like a real wolf, by adding all these realistic details you're doing a great job! Thanks for everything and for your hard work❤️🐺
This has me very excited. I often want to get a mate from a rival pack, but having to fight off some wolves before I can court the one that is interesting was quite the hassle. Now in a way we ask permission to court the willing pack mate XD So much exciting stuff, very eager to try all these changes with my generation 4 when I get them all grown up.
How cool would it be if this game expanded it’s map to match all of Yellowstone National Park and possibly even all of Grand Teton National Park into this game, you would have so much diversity and tons of space to roam, kind of likened to the huge V3 map of the game of the dinosaur survival game the Isle, I think it would also be work if this game made even more animals that lived in this region playable like Grizzly Bears, Mountain Lions, Bison, Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Pronghorn, Bald Eagles, Ravens etc., just a cool idea I have.
@@WolfQuestGame of course, I figured, I just only mentioned it because I think it would be an excellent idea to really increase the amount of players this game could have, if the playable animal roster went past just wolves and also increased the map to include Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and also John D. Rockefeller Parkway to act as that bridge of land that connects the two parks together, that way players could explore both Yellowstone and Grand Teton while playing as their favorite animal that lived in that region, but thank you for reading my comment. 😄
This is so amazing. I have little idea it will be cool to add more wolf couzmations like wound on nose or eye and more coats it will be great to add. And in slough creek one of you’re pups go to hunt with you or your mate to kill prey for all of your pack that we can eat togheter. And when pups get born that mom can stay with pups drink mother’s milk until they get bigger and that they can change their colors.
What would be cool is being able to create a whole pack. Where your pups grow to adults and you cna run as a pack. Even your pups cna choose mates and make the pack bigger and stuff. I mena thats usually what happens in the wild.
@@WolfQuestGame ok so ya exactly what i said lmao sorry i totally forgot yall had that in mind. Im excited for whats coming up next. Cant wait and ty for all yalls hard work.
Thanks you! I needed a more easer way to mate and make my territory, it was very hard and started to frustrate me, so hopefully i’ll be able to finally finish the territory quest.
Im very curious about the other courtship changes… I love how it works as it is but the pack thing is definitely an improvement :o and making it easier to tell a certain group to go away lol. The stalking is funny sometimes storywise but annoying when youre trying to go after another wolf and the stalkers keep chasing them away
I saw this notification and instantly for excited. Mother was confused when I started panting like a dog and repeatedly saying 'Wolf territory court wolf territory court wolf territory court' lol
God is it amazing to see this game grow!!! I was playing it since I was just about SEVEN!? I’m nearly 18 now! This game is utterly insane, and I totally can’t wait to see what the devs come up with. The game made earlier when I was young was so.. sick(in a good way.). The technology for the time was great, but.. not so much in 2015-2021. So good on them for upgrading everything to try and boost the game again! Cant wait to get all the new DLCs.
Ah, so now I have to improvise and come in peace instead of killing all of my court's packmates to show that I'm not messing around >:3. I always thought that was odd, you come to a territory and kill a few wolves and the wolf standing off to the side was like "oh okay :D" Jokes aside I'm glad this has been added. It will be much more easier to steal a mate that way and it's much more realistic xd
I think it's both. I came across Wapiti 4F courting a group of three males. They were all playbowing and responding to my emotes but none of the hearts showed up so I couldn't check diversity. I tried to chase 4F off but was low on health so she beat me up lol. The whole time all the males just kept playbowing! Haha, so that was fun.
I’ve always wondered this, but would it ever be possible for a potential mate’s sibling to join your pack? For example, if you were to run into 3 dispersals, and you’ve convinced one of them to have a trial period with you, could one of the siblings choose (based on their personality, perhaps more social and cautious) to remain with you and your mate? I imagine it would make things in Slough Creek more interesting as well, as now there are 3 wolves to help raise pups. I completely understand if this is difficult to code and implement, but since y’all are working on the saga, I figured I’d just throw this out there, seeing how I understand it’s what real wolves sometimes do, but again, this game is already ambitious as it is, and I ain’t trying to throw more work on you guys. Regardless, I’m so excited for what’s to come! The Team has done a phenomenal job and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store!
It is too early to say how it will all work. The game will never be able to include all the interesting social combinations of real wolves but we will keep doing our best to make it interesting and realistic.
Ahhh I love these new updates so much and I am so excited for the saga and any dlc!! One quick question relating the saga, for your pups being able to court other wolves, will they still be playable in the family tree and possibly with that mate? Or some option to possibly follow that pup’s life after they leave the pack(like the family tree)? I love the details you pick into this game! Thank you so much!
A few Days ago I was courting a Wapity female when her brother came and started fighting. So i fought back as I was deep in Their territory so I wouldn't be able to escape. Then she came and helped me fight her packmate 😅. Later I took her on trial and accepted her as a mate. Her name was Starfire. However in Slough Creek she was killed by Junction Butte wolves.
i like putting my den in a flower shape, it just seemed more realistic! but anyways you're doing an amazing job! thank you for this wonderful game that i've played for over a hundred hours :D
I remember this one game i was hunting,we had a pretty large area,a good few hexes between JB and the den but they came anyway,it was kinda funny watching them walk ALL that way.
Probably the best game that was ever invented!!! I can tell just how realistic it is!!! WolfQuest has made so much progress on this game!!! Thank you so much for making this AWESOME game 😃
This video came out a year ago and I'm still coming back to it for tips about things so I can adjust my gameplay! Twice now I've come upon a group of dispersal males and a group of dispersal females. I couldn't tell if they were courting or if they were just hanging out but I had to chase off the group that matched my wolf's sex so I could get to courting or even get close enough to the other group so I could figure out compatibility. Let me tell you, I had to debate whether I wanted to fight this group of three or four wolves or just run. But I decided to fight because I had the stats and bravery usually wins in most situations. The second time this happened, I had to chase off 6 wolves! Yikes. It doesn't happen often but it really adds a nuance that is atypical and makes things that much more realistic and fun! As to the territory, I like to have a massive territory. The first two rows of hexes on the map I usually leave alone. That's two lines of hexes from north to south and east to west on both sides of the map. Two full outlining squares. I leave those hexes to the other packs but everything else, I like to claim so that I can have four hexes between the borders and my pups at all times. And I like to keep them strong. When the majority of the hexes in my territory drop to 50%, I'll go out and reinforce every scent post on the borders and the rows adjacent that I can easily reach in one straight line. This process normally takes 1.5 to 2 game days, so I plan ahead. I hunt like crazy when I'm 'at the den' so that my mate has a food pile so that they can feed the pups when I'm out scentmarking, and the pups are full and fat and happy when I leave which gives them the best chances when my mate has to care for them solo. And I'm not worried about the affinity because all the affinity means is that the pups might now leave the den - but with my mate there, coyotes are not a problem and the pups are already outside and playing. I don't send them and my mate into the den when I leave because that will create problems in the future - affinity drops and stays low, fleas skyrocket, etc. But I balance that by playing when I'm at the den. It works pretty well for me! But I just created a new wolf and I might change up the way I play - I think I'll keep my mate with me when I'm away from the den and hunting which means I'll need a smaller territory because I won't be able to get far from the den before the pack affinity drops too much. To offset this, I'll have to have strength at full and probably stamina at full so I can endure those long chases but also end them quickly once I find a target. I just need to find a mate that matches that now and that's gonna be the tricky part. Does anybody have any advice for me about that?
This game is going to a wonderful direction. Thank you for the update WQ Team! Also, I have some suggestions: Maybe different types of sounds when walking in different types of soil. Like, if you walk in a river bank full of plebes, the sound will resemble walking in little rocks. Or when you walk through tall grass, for exemple. I wonder if the turning in place animation (for the wolf) could be a little more realistic as when the animal turns in place to head in the opposite direction, it's body (spine) "bends" to the direction the head is turned so the movement can complete. I know getting the model to work sometimes can be a bit tricky and also making everything to work perfectly can be a bit difficult too, but apart from that the game feels amazing!! Will keep supporting as long as I can.
I remember playing the game one day with an Elder Wolf (Rest in peace Radio) I was almost done with the game when all of sudden I get attacked by Prospect Peak. I checked the mad sense I stay around the bottom left of the map and they had to travel through a whole different territory to get to me. I just shrugged it off and figured that it was normal
That is so cool!!! Question Will it be possible to see the future wolves that court each other and see them in possible packs or will you never see them if you move to another map? I was worndering that after I watched the video Also will there be other wolves with pups in the next chapter of a wolf’s life? Edit: also would it be possible to have to wait another year to find a dispersal if you wait to long? Cause some times I couldn’t find any 4 stars so I waited and dispersals stopped showing up I feel like you’d have to wait another year to get another dispersal unless the current pack dominant mating pair looses its mate and/or wants you as a mate
Each game generates a bunch of dispersals and those are your choices for that game. In the future, with the saga, there will be a lot more going on but it is too early to say exactly it will all play out.
Okay thanks for letting me know I am looking forward to that day this is very impressive work and the detail that goes into it is even better. This is a great game and I’m sure it will be even better since you all put such great effort into this game and spreading the awareness of a wolf’s life and it is not every easy
Hey wolf quest I have some ideas for the future update. 1. When we go to another wolf territory we'll be able to see the enemy wolf den and their pups. 2. When the pups are playing they might too aggressive and start to fight and they'll also fight for food just like in real life 3. The wolves will be more dangerous in the night. That's all the ideas I have for future updates hope you like them.
This wolf courting other wolf is amazing! I’ve always kept wanting to have a feature that you kinda have to race wolves of your same gender and try and stop the other wolf to get a potential mate before you do.
I love the effort and talent being put into this game, all the work being put into it is really paying off more than I've seen happen with most games, it's incredible, really. I do have a question though, once you help your pups to grow into fine hunters and they reach that age where they'll move on and make/join another pack, I know sometimes the pups stay to raise the next litter, will that be an occurrence in the next chapter? As well I think it might be cool if, for now since Tower Fall sounds like a big aspiration when someone chooses to create a new litter with the same mate, there's a percent chance that say 1-3 of their pups will stay, and help to raise the next litter as a yearling? As well, what if when you are in the courting period, if you are courting a certain wolf who happens to have siblings, there's a percent chance that the sibling will want to join your pack? I know this can happen sometimes in the wild, especially because it's hard surviving as a lone wolf, and joining another pack is really that siblings' best bet at survival. This *would* make the game easier in some cases, as it would be easier to hunt since you'd have three or maybe even four wolves instead of just two after courting, but it would also mean more mouths to feed and look after, as well when you are staying at a den site the number of fleas will be more abundant as well, so I suppose it could bring its own challenges with it too.
This is so cool but I have a few questions and suggestions Number one is can you find abandon wolf pups bear cubs or cougar cups I think it would be cool to be able to find abandoned baby animals because their parents are either dead or something happened to them or the Cubs ran off I think this would be really cool feature in the game and I was just wondering if something like this was ever going to be added My second question it’s saying Birdnests up in trees in on the rocks I think this would be a cool touch to the game so and make it just a little bit more realistic my third question is coming across a wolf den with wolves or coyotes or foxes living in them once again I think this would be a cool touch to the game and my fourth question is being able to steal or kill wolf pups coyote pups or fox pups once again I think this would be cool to see in the game And my next question is maybe becoming allies with packs I’m not sure if this is Real in Real life or if it’s just a fake myth but if you want you can count this question out for my final question which is more of a suggestion it’s getting achievement for either stealing or killing an enemy cub or pup depending on what animal it is not sure if any of these are going to be added to the game or have been thought of I just thought I would suggest some things while I have the chance and these are just suggestions once again so I don’t really mind if they don’t get added to the game I was just curious to know if anything similar or like this is going to be added to the game and once again they are just suggestions thank you for reading this also I am a huge wolf quest fan and I can’t wait for tower fall to come out I absolutely love wolf class and I’ve been playing it for almost 2 years now and I have just fallen in love with the game I can’t wait for your next update to come out once again thank you for reading this😀😀😀😀😀😀 #WolfQuestForLife #WolfQuest2022 #WolfQuestAnniversaryAddition 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Also sorry about the # Wolf quest anniversary edition it somehow got changed I don’t know how I guess I didn’t notice so before you guys start nailing me with comments about that being misspelled I will correct it because I always try to correct myself whenever I notice I spelled something wrong it’s just a habit I have also thank you to anybody that corrected me
Rival packs don't form allegiances. There is some evidence that related packs might tolerate each other more than complete strangers, so that is interesting.
suggestion: could there potentially be a “peaceful” or “explore” gamemode integrated ? where no land is claimed and you can just survive and explore without interference of pack wolves, maybe you cant progress or get any achievements in that mode so its purely for wandering. might be interesting!
You might enjoy making a multiplayer game, choosing Pack Life on Easy as a private game (you can play it alone). That would get you closer to a “peaceful” or “explore” gamemode.
Hey I've been meaning to ask- did Wolfquest use to have an incredibly stressful side mission in Slough Creek where you could go hunt cows on a farm and get shot by a farmer or was that just some weird fever dream?
@@angelinapedroza2189 yeah it was really fun and I once gave myself a challenge to only eat from the calves at the ranch once! It was very stressful though 😅
2:24 at this part, I immediately nodded. I have a really weird habitat in Wolfquest.. Whenever I see any wolves of my gender courting the opposite gender of wolves, I chase them off because I don't want them to find a mate and I want them to be lonely forever.. It's weird, I know.
Hey it would be cool if you could also make bold wolves have a limit to how bold they are? Like after a certain amount of their health goes down they become skittish and less likely to attack? I've had so many of my mates defend the den from bears and they're bold, so they keep on attacking until they die, and that kinda sucks. It would be nice if they would rather choose to stay further back and use confident emotes and snarl at them instead once they get lower than say 25%-30%
Every personality trait has a disadvantage and I think putting a limit on boldness removes said trait’s disadvantage. Mates have already become better at avoiding danger than they used to be but having a bold mate means they’re more likely to take risks and die because of it.
Wow! I can’t wait too play on a new wolf and see the changes for myself, sadly, I just got a mate, so it will be awhile until I play on a new wolf and test it out :(
The amount of detail that goes into this game is astounding
I know right? I love the game and can't wait for Tower Fall to come out (hopingly) this year!!!
All the small details that go into it are what make it so amazing ^-^
Yes i showed my mom a screenshot and she first thought it was real haha :)
I can’t wait until I get a new laptop and get the game. All these new updates making it better for me when I play for the first time on WQ3
When is it going to be out for phones?!
I thought of a little concept: What if pups had a chance to be born with disabilities?
(Obviously the lower the diversity between you and your mate the higher the chance this happens)
Like if a pup is blind:
-They'll have trouble following the pack to a new den/rendezvous site and will have to be picked up
-They have a higher chance of wandering far from the den and becoming lost
-They will of course respond to the wood command but they may go the wrong way and have to put into the den manually
If a pup is deaf:
-They won't respond to any voice emotes; they won't join in during a pack howl and worse, they'll respond to a woof warning them of danger much later than their siblings.
I can't do anything when they're pups but when they're adults:
Deaf: Kills all the sound. Mutes everything, music, in game sounds, etc.
Blind: Only scent view, and cannot use the map unless you're marking a location (it would be a kind of memory thing).
It's not greatly thought out but shh
@@starcycle4308 I do that too!
A courtship improvement just after my mate has died... coincidence?
It’s so cool that the pack mates just stand there and watch ^^
@The Paw Haven seriously? Spamming my channel isn't enough now?
1:40 Hallelujah! For some reason, it is always group I do not want that chases off the wolf/wolves I am interested in. It can take forever to shake them off and track down the wolf I wanted. So glad I can finally tell them to take a hike.
As soon as I saw ‘courtship’ I started running
This update reminds me of a time when I was working on getting the ‘rejected by potential mate’ achievement and had succeeded in getting my mate to dump me…but later on I came across the dispersal males my previous mate had been with…and sure enough he was there with them again. Was not at all happy that his siblings were interested in hanging around me lol. He very much hated me but was too skiddish to start a fight and I could chase him a ways off if I wanted him to stop harassing me…but he’d always come back if I continued to stay around them.
But yeah, talk about an awkward situation. 😂 He didn’t know what to do. Poor guy..
How do you get rejected by a possible mate?
Or smth?
Stay tuned!
Question! If you can see other dispersals courting each other does that mean they might do so successfully? And if so would that mean the longer you wait the less potential mates are out there? Seeing as they already have a mate
theoretically yes
I saw a pack wolf courting some dispersals... Wapiti 4F gurl I wanna talk to them too don't beat me up
Edit: She beat me up
@@wolfkitty42 lol rip
Well was that fun?
Does this mean we might get to see our pups get courted out of our pack in the dlc possibly? 🧐

@@WolfQuestGame i want a mate from junction butte do i have to risk going to their scent to find any interested ones?
a tip in game about having a buffer zone around your home hex would be really helpful, i think what you said about "stranger wolves don't care about how big your territory is if they only have to travel one hex to get to your pups!" would work really well!
I agree. I saw that tip in a WQ gameplay comments section, and since then I wondered why the in-game tutorial doesn't mention or at least hint at it
Lots of great tips in our Knowledge Base: support.wolfquest.org/help/quest-establish-territory
My heart just exploded when I saw the notification 😂
Same lol
Hey I have a request/question I guess! How come the mates can’t do the sniff/lick/chin rest emotes? Maybe they could ask permission to do that to you in case say, you were trying to fight/hunt. I’ve always wondered if they could do that and none of the mates so far just don’t, but I’ve been playing this game ever since it came out, so I assume it’s not a thing! I’d really appreciate it if in a future patch you could add more mate interaction!! If not I totally understand:) thanks for making such a wonderful game and putting so much research and effort into it
Contact emotes are tricky, in general, and if the receiving one is the player, that makes it even trickier.
Dear wolf game developer: I'm both surprised you're still updating this and you have a chill, pleasant voice. Go you.
Thanks!
I was hoping for this to be added! Dealing with multiple dispersal groups at once was so annoying, they always fight
This is the most realistic game I’ve ever seen
Can't wait to crash dispersal courtings with my wolf. Gonna break some hearts soon!
I love that you used Rick McIntyre’s books! To anyone out there, I highly recommend them all.
I was literally just now wondering when you guys were gonna upload another update LOL
Im happy the bug where the wolf just poofs when u reject them is gone because sometimes I want that wolf back. That bug was funny too!
I kinda wanna see disabilities.

DISPERSALS COURTING EACH OTHER!!! HECK YEAH IVE BEEN WANTING THIS FOR YEARS
I think it would be cool if we could be born in another pack later in the game and grow up and get a role or something like that i love this game keep up the good work
Wolves don’t have “roles” Alpha, Beta, Omega, etc don’t exist.
Things like this
Rick McIntyre's books are what really got me to learn about wolves. I'm glad you like them too, lol!
Keep up the awesome work 😊
The updates never for the phones!
@@Raxor_ur-mom they said they will make it available on iPads, phones etc once the pc version is finished
But we have to face the reality that this isn't what's best for the game
amzing like i said i really enjoy working with you!
Contact emotes are tricky so, yeah, real life wolves are much more paws-on.
Thanks for sharing!!
I'm really excited that you can see other dispersal wolves finding mates! The detail of this game never ceases to amaze me.
I bought the game but unfortunately my computer doesn't have enough space. When I get a new PC I'll enjoy all of this :]
The amount of detail is wonderful I’m ready for it to be fully released
oh thank god it was always so annoying how the other group of dispersals didn't catch the hint and I would have to keep going to chase the ones I want and wait for them to court again then only for it to get messed up cause the other group would come back
I love his game, wolfquest is the only game I have ever seen that really focuses on realism.
every update this game gets i am so happy to see. i’ve been playing this game since 2010/2011, and it’s come SO far, it’s absolutely astounding!! i’m so keen to see where you finish this game off at.
one suggestion i do have is more ways to interact with your mate. and i mean like ordering them to go do things, such as mark the territory or go hunting without you. idk how wolf interactions work irl or if this would even be compatible with the game, but it was just a thought i had :-))
This is amazing, and can not stop loving these videos and amazing updates to soon come
I’m really loving these updates, I love how much time you made for this game. And I love how it’s about nature, and wolves. Thank you for making this game. I really appreciate it.
This game literally makes you feel like a real wolf, by adding all these realistic details you're doing a great job! Thanks for everything and for your hard work❤️🐺
This update will be so cool! Keep up the good work!
I just want to say I absolutely love the courtship rework. I know that I’ve always wanted to have a proper chance with a rival wolf mate!
We dream big too... but we only have so much time and budget :D
Epic! New courtship and territory stuff.
I love this!! I always used to play bow thinking theyd know I wasnt looking to fight and now it's a reality!
Awesome! I enjoy the tip on two hexes between the rival territories!
You guys have gotten so far x_X

Yo this looks awesome. I love how detailed this game is.
I always thought that was odd, you come to a territory and kill a few wolves and the wolf standing off to the side was like "oh okay :D"
Jokes aside I'm glad this has been added. It will be much more easier to steal a mate that way and it's much more realistic xd
Question here! If you stumble upon wolves courting each other, would they chase you off or could you chase them off to court with the other wolves?
Give it a try ;)
I think it's both. I came across Wapiti 4F courting a group of three males. They were all playbowing and responding to my emotes but none of the hearts showed up so I couldn't check diversity. I tried to chase 4F off but was low on health so she beat me up lol. The whole time all the males just kept playbowing! Haha, so that was fun.
This game is so awesome I really like it. Maybe in the next update the wolf pups could be more Interactive with there parents.
This is something I’d really like too, as well as the option to start a new game with a sibling or two to accompany the player wolf
It is too early to say how it will all work. The game will never be able to include all the interesting social combinations of real wolves but we will keep doing our best to make it interesting and realistic.
So exciting!!! I'm gonna LOVE this update!
It is too early to say how it will all work. ;)
Looks awesome! Good to see my habit of making a territory much bigger than I need to will come in even better use now :)
This is so great! They put so much thought into this game, keep up the good work !😃
Probably the best game that was ever invented!!!
Also, I have some suggestions:
Maybe different types of sounds when walking in different types of soil.
Ooh! I'm excited to test this out in Beta. I'll probably use one of my wolf's pups to try it out.
Question
Will it be possible to see the future wolves that court each other and see them in possible packs or will you never see them if you move to another map? I was worndering that after I watched the video
Also will there be other wolves with pups in the next chapter of a wolf’s life?
The new way of courtship will help better, thank u.
I tried courting pack wolves before this 😂 I’m glad this update is coming
Hey wolf quest I have some ideas for the future update.
1. When we go to another wolf territory we'll be able to see the enemy wolf den and their pups.
2. When the pups are playing they might too aggressive and start to fight and they'll also fight for food just like in real life
3. The wolves will be more dangerous in the night.
That's all the ideas I have for future updates hope you like them.
I believe Loach (a wolfquest dev on the steam discussion page I think) had said that the enemy dens would be denied
Hi!!! This is so exciting ! Is Tower Fall coming out late in the year, or middle, or very soon?
We do not announce specific release dates. We will release them when they are ready. :D
This wolf courting other wolf is amazing! I’ve always kept wanting to have a feature that you kinda have to race wolves of your same gender and try and stop the other wolf to get a potential mate before you do.
Your work is the best thing in my pc gamelife right now XD
There are not many games which I can play like this.
Did you see: "Where No WolfQuest Has Gone Before" to hear what's coming with the new Saga?

This is so cool but I have a few questions and suggestions
Number one is can you find abandon wolf pups bear cubs or cougar cups I think it would be cool to be able to find abandoned baby animals because their parents are either dead or something happened to them or the Cubs ran off I think this would be really cool feature in the game and I was just wondering if something like this was ever going to be added
My second question it’s saying Birdnests up in trees in on the rocks I think this would be a cool touch to the game so and make it just a little bit more realistic my third question is coming across a wolf den with wolves or coyotes or foxes living in them once again I think this would be a cool touch to the game and my fourth question is being able to steal or kill wolf pups coyote pups or fox pups once again I think this would be cool to see in the game
And my next question is maybe becoming allies with packs I’m not sure if this is Real in Real life or if it’s just a fake myth but if you want you can count this question out for my final question which is more of a suggestion it’s getting achievement for either stealing or killing an enemy cub or pup depending on what animal it is not sure if any of these are going to be added to the game or have been thought of I just thought I would suggest some things while I have the chance and these are just suggestions once again so I don’t really mind if they don’t get added to the game I was just curious to know if anything similar or like this is going to be added to the game and once again they are just suggestions thank you for reading this also I am a huge wolf quest fan and I can’t wait for tower fall to come out I absolutely love wolf class and I’ve been playing it for almost 2 years now and I have just fallen in love with the game I can’t wait for your next update to come out once again thank you for reading this😀😀😀😀😀😀 #WolfQuestForLife #WolfQuest2022 #WolfQuestAnniversaryAddition 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

This was a bonus mission in the original WolfQuest, yes! It didn’t get ported over to Anniversary Edition, though.
perhaps it could be added to lost river or tower fall ! i always liked that mission even though it was pretty stressful ahAh
It's weird, I know.
not mnay things hold my interest but everytime you guys put an update out about WQ I get so excited
I love this! Keep up the good work wolf quest team!
@@SucicRaven that's true
when npcs court each other can they become mates and roam around together or will they just do some playful emotes at each other?
Stay tuned!
i myself have had the courtship bug and i was so confused! just POOF they were gone!
love this overhaul!
i know i keep saying this, but real excited for this update!! 😁 im excited for all updates i suppose haha 🐺
Wow thank you so much, great job🐺❤️
I love wolves so much and it is great that people are making apps and other stuff about wolves, can’t wait to play the new features
Thank you
Wow! I can’t wait too play on a new wolf and see the changes for myself, sadly, I just got a mate, so it will be awhile until I play on a new wolf and test it out :(
