It may never come up again for Rikku and thunder, but if she gets hit with a thunder spell, she makes a hurt sound that she doesn't make with any other element. It's a simple touch, but connects them.
I'd have named Yojimbo meowth, since he mainly use the move pay day 😏
Can you write my scripts and do all of the clever names from now on? I'm not nearly that smart

@@112Tribal I appreciate that! The next video actually just finished recording so I have to just go through the editing process. However no, that wasn't sarcasm. The part I dread the most is the scripting process so I will do most things to not do it.
That being said, I would suggest waiting a couple videos, as the one after this is going back go Fallout 4 (the game I kind of got my start with) so it should be on the "better" side of the quality content spectrum.
Either way, I appreciate your support and hope I can deliver the kind of content you like to watch

Then I shall be 1 for 2. I got Valefor's second overdrive, but I couldn't get Anima! It would have been an optional boss fight and in that fight I couldn't summon. So that's a big no no

@@bigstopowensI don't think it is mentioned specifically, but you can see it briefly at the end of the Sin's Fin fight.
Pokemon games let you steal items from Pokemon, so stealing should 100% be allowed in a Pokemon Trainer challenge.
Awesome concept, but man does it seem like it'd be a little tedious to actually play. Props to you for chugging through it, and making a good video to boot!

Hey, this game might seem simple, but there are definitely things that I learn every so often
The green screens is an out of memory issue. There is a mod you can download to raise the memory limit. It fixes the problem.

i did this run 2 yrs ago. was it easy? yes. was it fun? yes.
controlling summons was a fantastic move for ff10. i loved using yojimbo since hes more random with what he does and was my go to after i got him. i think my least used for Ixion.
Once elements started getting introduced, and I could abuse the enemy AI to my advantage, Valefor went from decently used, to almost not used at all.
Bahamut still MVP for the run, but Yojimbo would have been a close second!
Ifrit looks more like a Magmar than a Charmander lol.
I do greatly appreciate the effort in making this video with the challenge that you have explained (Mods for Lulu and Khimari for taking down the Machina)
Would have loved to see all the monster designs and variants. But Yuna was only going to Min Max.
If you really want to be able to see all of the monster designs and variants, I would highly recommend FFX-2. They have an entire creature arena which has the same, and a couple new, monsters to go see and even be able to get them on your team!!! Highly recommend, even though people don't always like that one

If i remember right, Ifrit isn't weak to any element, he just has a fire eater armor equipped.
You could definitely be right, I couldn't remember if it was the same way as elementals have their elemental affinities

That reminds me, wen i used the old save editor i got myself every item. There was an item "summon" (i would need to check the name) using that did allow everyone to call an Aeon.
If you gave Aoens the item command, they could summon an Aeon as well. Kinda glitchy but very funny.
Interestingly there is another Auroch called Atropus or Ulua Aurochs which I think is an Australian fish that looks like a large silver scale. I have no idea why it's both the name of a fish and an extinct cattle species, but naming conventions are complicated and amusing like that.

I didn't realize it was also a possible fish. I just found out it was a mammal and wanted to share that info with the world. However, with it being a beach-based team the fish makes more sense....And you're welcome!
Ifrit is more of a Emboar but I love the naming scheme

I started doing one of these a while ago but stopped. I did find that when getting to Shiva, it became much easier. This is due to Shiva having the highest natural speed of any summon (Ixion is close behind) and she absorbs ice so you don't have to teach her any healing spells. Her high natural speed means she often gets 2 attacks to the enemy's one without having to use a delay attack.
I noticed that too. Normal enemies were rarely a threat during this run. The bosses is really where things got challenging, and I really liked that aspect

A little twist on this run to make it a little harder would be to only allow Tidus to fight when Yuna can't summon. I mean, he's a summon, isn't he? It all checks out.
During the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, I did a customized Sphere Grid, it was so pleasant. At the same time, I did all the dark aeons as well. This one was difficult.
there is a fix for the greenscreen cutscreens in the community hub, there is a patcher to fix it. if i remembere correctly it is a problem with the RAM

I understand why you skipped the last 2 aeons, but I'm curious what you would have named them if you had gotten them for this run. I'm not sure what would fit for Anima, but my choices for the Sisters would have been Sandy=Scizor, Cindy=Ledian and Mindy=Vespiquen. I know you were going with Gen 1 names (ignoring the image of Tyrogue you used to rep Yojimbo on the summon/death counts), but Sandy is red, not green and I always thought of Mindy as a wasp as opposed to the bee she was supposed to be.
Anima would probably have been Gengar, for the ghosty aesthetic.
And the Sisters would all have been the bugs: Beedrill, Butterfree, and Pinsir. I don't know which would have embodied which, but I want to assume Butterfree would have been Mindy, Beedrill beeing Sandy, and Pinsir being Cindy
Well, stealing is essential in this game.
So, stealing to level/perk up Aeons is good. and the fact of stealing is not advancing the fight other than rendering a skipped action useful
You can teach steal/cheer/life/cure spells to aeons. You could use one to heal or revive another
I am not too sure on the life spells, but as for steal you cannot. I did a little checking into that and Steal and Mug are not possible by Aeons. The other skills are though!

As I watched it just occured to me: WHY DON'T THEY HAVE UNDERWATER CITIES???!!! They're literally like JarJars there on Spira.
Because living underwater is specifically for fish, monsters, and sports ball players

Halfway through the challenge, I did realize that I could have named myself something cooler, but Hindsight is always 20/20
on summons weaknesses im like 80% sure all summons that have an elemental type do not in fact have a weakness or take extra damage to their logical weaknesses the 20 percent im not sure about is that that could just apply to opponents summons but yours still do
missed a few summons.. Anima, Magnus Sisters. If you think Bahamut is broken you haven't seen anything yet.
I think I said something in another comment/comment thread but I could be wrong.
Can't do Anima because of the optional underwater fight with Geosgano, which doesn't allow summoning. And I can't do the Magus Sisters because that requires capturing monsters with the Monster Arena "Capture" Weapons and I can't use those with Aeons. People have said I should have allowed capturing because that's what Pokemon is all about, but I didn't want to add that in the rules when I was going through the challenge, so I might go through again and do a similar challenge involving capturing things, but that's relatively low on my list.
I'm not trying to sound like I have a "I'm right and you're wrong" attitude, but just trying to explain and answer this again for those who may not have seen the other comment(s) I made. Hope it helps!

You can use the Cutstene Remover for this game, so you don't need to watch all the cutszenes, if you do more challenges in FFX
I know it exists, but I know it is moreso geared to the speedrunning scene for this game. I thought I heard somewhere that it can break your game if you use it casually. I could be wrong, but I thought that was true

Valfor can physically attack sins fin. She flies to it and attacks.
I'm assuming its similar to the final fight with Sin and how she flies up to it. I don't know which would have done more damage, but that's nice to know for next time!

What about Animea and the Magius Sisters
Magus sisters require capturing, and Aeons can't do that.
Anima, because it involves an optional boss fight that you can't summon in. So because it being optional, I decided it doesn't fall into the rules set ahead of me.

The Aeons don't have sensor, it's Yuna's weapon.
The Aeons do have sensor, they also have piercing (except for Valefor), and Break Damage Limit for Bahamut, as well as Break HP and MP Limit, and [Element] Eater for Elemental Aeons
Sounds like this would be more unique for ffx-2 due to variety, but itd probably be less viewed.
I may or may not have some ideas for FFX2, but they are pushed down the Rabbit Hole as I have other projects and videos I want to do!

Calling a singular entree of a series a 'franchise' is weird.
But I guess you had to because World of Final Fantasy exists and is outright a Monster Collector like Pokemon.
World of Final Fantasy doesn't get nearly as much love as I want for it.
Yes a monster collector akin to Pokemon, but being able to pull from all of Final Fantasy's past and use as much as they wanted to was perfect.
Funnily enough, I've played World of FF Maxima as someone who has never played any other FF game before a couple times, simply because Monster Collector is my favorite genre.
Can only wonder if they'll ever do the sequel that was teased at the very very tail end of all of the content.
the loud noise in the beginning was quite unsettling. please don't do that next time. if you want the effect of "loud=funny" then just bass boost it and compress the hell out of it so it doesn't clip (or something to that effect). i instinctually downvoted but then felt bad and came back later to upvote because it's a genuine good video. just sayin some other people may not be as forgiving as me lol
I don't think I will do it again. I wanted to do it, I did it, not super happy with the outcome, and people aren't a fan of it. I appreciate the helpful criticism, but probably won't do it in the future. Or have a better warning before it happens. Thank you!
Strongly agree. I often stop watching videos that do that. Remember your viewers with anxiety, or those who have to carefully volume control what they're watching.

Don't think of it as stealing.
Think of it as using the Thief move and taking their held item
You can’t use a mod to cheat and call it a challenge
All the mod did to "cheat" is save me time.
