any opinions for someone looking at getting their first supersport when coming from cruisers? Maybe I am being overly cautious but this will be my 3rd year riding but never on a supersport. The 2 bikes I have in my garage are a 06 yamaha v-star 650 custom, and a 2022 Harley Davidson iron 883. Just curious if people think the zx6r would be "to much" since I would technically be a beginner supersport rider but have 2 years of cruiser experience.

With 2 years of riding experience I think you'll be fine. Just remember that supersports are WAY more powerful than stock cruisers and that every input is more exaggerated. Both the throttle and brakes will feel very sensitive until you get used to them, so be sure to use gentle inputs. Also, the riding position will be more racy than you are used to so be prepared for achy palms and tired shoulders at first. Ride it enough and you will get used to it, though, and will have a blast. If you want more upright go Ninja 650, if you're set on supersport go zx6r. A lot of the 600 class bikes haven't been really updated in a while. The zx6r is the best bang for the buck.
