    Picked up this ABSOLUTE WEAPON as my very first bike about 2 months ago. Absolutely love it and no regrets! My only disappointment is the sound of the exhaust but that I will fix next summer. This manic machine is wicked fast, light and nimble! Every bit of fun I hoped for!

    It disgusts me that this video does not have the high level of likes and comments it deserves. Brilliantly shot thank you. I just traded in my 2018 Street RS for the 20 Krt performance zx6r and absolutely dying for it to be released by the dealer. I suffer from fibromyalgia and the naked bikes just kill me with fatigue, riding the zx6r was like lying on my bed in comparison. Great review, you have a new sub 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    This is a Darn Good Video! Very professional! Love the drone shots! Don't you just love that big foot coming out of the sky and giving it a good kick in the butt at 8k RPM? As dangerous as it may be, your left elbow on the gas cap or there about can help the numb hands. Numb hands are just as dangerous or maybe worse! I like this dash over the new ones. You sold me. Now I just have to convince you know who to let a certain Yamaha find a new home. I'm really surprised the camera survived the drop. I agree on the performance level. Other than sound why would you want more. You have really stepped up your game with this video!

    Spot on review, I have a 2013 white and black 636 ABS with 16k on the clock and you hit on all the pro's and con's which to me the pro's outweigh the very small con's IMO. I love this bike so much, was hit by a car last month at low speed, guy made a U-turn into oncoming traffic just not enough time to come to full stop, and I am a 35 year plus rider! Sht happens. (lucky just some minor plastic damage and bent rotor) back on the road in 3 weeks. Mods I have, I ditched the grab strap on the back seat (no need for it and makes it a cleaner look at least for me) two bros Sr1 slip on, Impaktech rear subcage, CRG levers which make a huge diff in feel, again imo, Led lighting up front and side markers, Shogun white sliders, Zero Gravity dark smoke windscreen, TST industries rear integrated tail light, Competition werkes fender eliminator kit which fits lower into subcage for a cleaner look imo, spec tank pads and a Vortex 520 conversion (Huge low and mid gains with just a mile or 3 off the top end ) In all this is a beast for what it is and just a ton of fun to rip on, I also have a 09 zx10r that now just basically sits in the garage now. Hey still have to have a liter bike just for those days when I feel the need for a little more top end rush lol.

    I don’t have a zx6 but for the right hand hurting and numbness I like to pull the clutch in to eliminate engine braking and coast while I stretch my arm out, and then rev matching back into gear when I’m done. Doing that a couple times for 10 seconds or so will make things feel nice again for a long time.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  3 роки тому

      Agree with you there. If I'm honest, I get a numb throttle hand on every bike I ride so its not really a con to me but it is definitely where you feel the most pressure in that riding position. Thank you for the suggestion and I appreciate the help!

    Good day! '19zx6r owner here from the Philippines. Great video, review and montage! This is my first supersport coming form a 2010 Ninja 250. I agree with all the great points about this bike and I like specially the safety features such as the ABS, power mode and traction control. As for ergo, I'm 5'7 and took me quite a while to get used to the riding position after 9 years witn the ninjette. The bike looks awesome! The color scheme also looks nice. My preference was the grey color but unfortunately, Kawasaki only released the KRT here last year.

    upgraded my bike from the 2020 ninja 650 to a 2019 zx 6r about 5 days ago. The zx 6r is so much better. I really enjoyed cornering on my 650 but this zx 6r with an amateur suspension tuning just feels so incredibly stable in corners. I want to take it to the track soon.

      Congratulations Bryan on the new ride! Yeah the ZX-6R is pretty amazing in terms of how it handles turns etc. So much more planted IMO than the 650 or 1000. Thank you for the comment and let me know how it does at the track!

    You mention how much better the ZX6 turns, and how much more planted it feels over the N1000. I have a ‘17 Ninja 1000. I swapped the tires out for the Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22s, OEM size front but 190/55/17 rear, and it feels like a different bike in a much better way. It tips in and turns way quicker/better and has more grip. I noticed the speedo is accurate at legal speeds measured with GPS too. You may have done this already, but if not, it is WELL worth it. It makes the 1000 sportier. 👍🏻

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah Keetoo I had read that before and that is definitely something I'll consider doing! I'm not saying at all that I'm uncomfortable on the N1K but a major difference from the ZX-6R in terms of confidence through turns. I may indeed throw a 190/55 on the back and see how that improves the handling. The speedo is a nice bonus too!! Thank you for the suggestion!!

    • @keetooderkatze2907
      @keetooderkatze2907 4 роки тому +1

      StormtrooperNinja I loved my Ninja 1000 before the tire swap, but it actually seems like I got a better bike with these tires. Some of that is the increased grip. My N1000 had Battlax Hypersport S20s before, and the S22 is apparently an all around superior tire for grip. The main difference noticed though is from that rear tire’s increased diameter - and I assume - steeper drop off from the center tread to the sidewall. I think you give up a slight bit of straight line stability, but gain an amazing amount of cornering ability, and it seems to me, cornering stability. The N1000 no longer fights against the curves, it just dives into them and holds rock steady with little input. IMO, best mod you can do for a 2017 - 2019 N1000. I wouldn’t go back to a 190/50 if someone paid me.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому +1

      Awesome, now I really want to make that change! We’ll see though, I’m not sure yet how much money I want to put into the N1K yet this season as I’m very likely going to trade it early 2021. I would very much like to see how that tire change feels though!

    I think you just sold a lot of ZX6r's for Kawasaki! Excellent review! The GoPro decided it wanted to be a 360 camera, then it said nah I'm out lol! Although the tft display is nice I will stick with old one, just something about an analog tach! You have to get Mrs Ninja on a dual vlog to give her take on the bike would love to hear it! BTW cool intro!

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому

      Well that was the reason I bought the new camera so we could do a dual vlog! But of course I had to try and screw that up by dumping it off a bike at almost 90mph...i still cannot believe there wasn't a scratch on it...and it still works just fine. I do agree there is something about an analog tac but I would be ok with a color screen as well. I'm a nerd so those kinds of things appeal to me. Thanks SJ for the comment! Mrs. Ninja will debut in the near future!

    Best value is low mileage older model which has depreciated by 50% due to age yet has 99% of the same performance. Not sure about this specific bike but many older bikes actually have more power and torque because they are not affected by stringent emission requirements. Prime example is the new and old R6

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому +4

      I cant disagree that a used bike potentially offers more value. Hopefully its clear that I'm really talking about buying a brand new bike and I stand by my statement that Kawi is the best value IMO in that regard. Thank you though for stopping by and I appreciate the comment for sure.

      I definitely agree about value, as I said in my comment I have a 2013 with 16k on the clock and value was $7145 per insurance company who did the eval after my small incident. I would call that a win for a 8 year old bike with those miles, even looking on ebay and facebook marketplace they still are going for 6 to 7k in good condition in a wide rage of years and milage. Solid investment for what it is. Cheers

      Dj Rich Saracino some lady backed into me while I was parked on my 2007 HONDA CBR 600RR and it has minor scratches but her insulated me $5000 for the bikes value(it had 30k miles) I only paid 3,500 for it a few years back and I still got to keep the bike ! Only draw back is that it was converted to a salvage title I then sold the bike for 3,500 and bought a new bike with my new 8,500!

    I actually like the "classic" gauges that the ZX-6R, the pre-2020 Ninja 650 and Ninja 1000 have, they always give me a TIE fighter kind of a vibe. Great video, as always, Trooper, but I'm curious: when is that ZX-10R coming? 😁

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому +3

      Gprimeofx I am still a big fan of the current cluster but I have to acknowledge that the color screens appear to be coming and Kawi has been using this cluster for quite a while now. Its probably due for some changes. It wouldn't be a tipping point for me to buy or not buy one of these bikes but I have to admit I'm excited to see whats coming next year...especially the ZX-10 which I'm almost positive I'm buying the 2021....unless its pink or something....then i'd go with a 2020 version haha. Just waiting to see what Kawi is going to announce this fall and then one way or another I'm getting a ZX-10 with the next 6-12 mos. Cheers! and thank you for stopping in!

      They aren't bad for starter bikes. If you have spent a good amount of time on two wheels I'd say 600 is OK to start on. I went with a yamaha r1 for my starter bike so when I get used to it I won't have to worry about upgrading from 600 to 1000 since I already got it.

    Excellent montage/drone editing and a great review of the bike. The ZX6 was my first choice when I went shopping late last year. Unfortunately in my area the insurance was almost double that of the GSX-R 600 and the "gixxer" was only $9,700 vs the $10,300 for the KRT Ninja. I'd say the feature I'm missing the most is that quickshifter. No ABS is offered on the Suzuki either which is odd.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 роки тому +2

    Is this your wife's first bike ? I'm looking to get this as my first bike ..I had some practice in my buddies ninja 650 I jist feel like I would get bored of it after the first year ...im debating over the zx6r or the r6.

    By the way, the 'very low slung' handlebars were a problem for me when I testrode the bike today. Luckily the bike that I testrode was the one of my cousin, so we removed the set-screw that keeps the handlebars in stock position and then loosened the fixing-screws to adjust them. Basically made them as wide as possible, and the feeling and control you get on the bike is greatly improved.
    I think you should try that, it might also fix the fatigue in your right palm.

    I'm also 6'0"@200lbs and own the '21. Unlike you, I find my bike to be _supremely_ uncomfortable. It's hard for me to go 25 miles without feeling horrible wrist discomfort on my clutch hand, contrasting you with your throttle hand. I try as hard as possible to use my knees and core strength to mitigate this, but after a few hard stops and starts, it adds up.
    I love my bike, truly, but I can't ride it the 70+ miles over the mountain to friends' houses like I could my old ZZR600.

      yeah I can see that. length of legs and arms may play a role as well and our bodies are all different. I'm having a different(not as good) experience on the ZX-10R which I'll cover in some upcoming videos. I appreciate your perspective and I'll try to keep that in mind next time I do a full review of a bike. Thanks for the comment!

      @@StormtrooperRides Looking forward to your ZX-10R review, as I've been curious. I've permanently written off liter bikes because I believe I don't and will never need the power, no matter how many neuter modes are on modern bike computers. Love 600s, particularly late 90s/early 00s models. The new ones are straightup race replica monsters, for better and for worse.
      Also looked into the Ninja 1000 (not a TRUE liter supersport in my books) but my dealer didn't stock them and I was looking for a weekend twistie and track rider anyway. Trying to steal my dad's old Concourse since he's a disabled vet and has hips too poor to ride these days, so the sport tour side would be covered. My heart tells me to simply dump ~3k on another '05-08 ZZR like my old one for practical riding.
      In case you haven't noticed, my family is totally team green for the street.

    riding sportbikes kinda requires you to learn supporting your upper body with your core. that way you dont have all of your weight on your arms. or alternatively, you prop your left elbow on the gas tank for suppor. :)

    As a new rider I was looking at the Ninja 400 but went with the 650 which had the TFT display, rubber foot pegs, and more power so I wont outgrow it too fast. Too bad it was $2K more but a great price for a new 650. Hopefully in a year or two the ZX-6R will have a TFT display too. Like the quick shifter on the bike too. Might get it as an upgrade. Also looking at electric bikes. I'm sure electric bikes will get better range, faster recharge times, get cheaper, and one day replace most of the the gas powered bikes down the road.

    You need to support your weight with your legs and lower back, no weight on wrists. This will be uncomfortable on your back at first but you quickly adapt and it becomes comfortable. Also a clip on throttle spoon can help with your right hand.

    i’m really new to the motorcycle community, would a ninja 400 be good first bike? also great video, love the quality

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  3 роки тому

      Hi Dante, absolutely the 400 would be a great first bike. Its a very reasonably priced option to get into motorcycling and the only thing I'd mention is that in a lot of cases its fairly normal to want something bigger after that first season...so perhaps a used bike might serve you better for the first bike. That being said, I personally bought new for all of my Kawi's so I wouldn't judge anyone for going that route. Try to keep it clean and they re-sell very well in my experience. OR if you love it, it can easily become your bike for life. The 400 has best power in its class and is a blast to ride. It is a bit small though so depending on you height that should be a consideration. I'm 6' tall and its a little cramped for me. Good luck on your decision and let us know what you end up going with!
