Great review, I liked the sentence where you wrote “this light is best suited for up to 200m”, I hope you include this sentence also in your future reviews.
Bought it after seeing the review.
Best flashlight I have ever owned!
Damn it! i just got the ec03, now i have to get this too
As usual. A very nice video. Poor old dragon looked like he was sitting on the pot, as it were. Good music as always. Keep it up mate.
Best channel for reviewing flashlights..sometime you miss to type the tint, but satisfy of the details
Astrolux putting out some very interesting light lately , at very good price ! I think i will grab one ! Thanks Matt
Love the snow....the music is nice also😂
Holy crap just ordered this one few days ago. Sand color/sst40., but couldn’t find a review on it and then lo and behold...groovy..HAPPY NEW YEARS FROM ARIZONA USA!
The SST40 certainly seems the most popular choice.
Ok. Thanks for scaring the crap out of me again! LoL! Great job, as usual, on the reviews. ....damn.
Love your videos very detailed and informative. Thank you.👌
Great video. I just ordered one using your coupon code and saved $20. Can't wait to get it.
Got it last night! This thing is bright af.
Exellent Review Man,
Thanks,
Very thorough, and entertaining,
Hi5 !
Cheers for watching!
Thanks for all flashlight comparisons on your channel, they are highly professional. I was thinking about buying Astrolux FT02S but after watching this video I realised that there is almost no difference in comparison with my Astrolux EC03, so it wouldn't worth upgrading to FT02S.
Your nads just made me buy the torch!
Happy new year. Great review as always. I noticed you got the SP70 and the SP36 mixed up. :)
Awesome review Outstanding Price thank you💪🍀💪❤💪
Happy new year
I love this flashlight!!!
Love your Fookin Reviews, Flashaholic Gold (: Happy New Years, Cheers!!
🥂 ☺
I like ec03. The sst40 version of it is nice too. More throw than xhp50.2. Smaller profile. Fits in tactical mounting. Great vid. Astrolux is top notch. I really like my ft03$.
i like ec03 too
Best flashlight channel . I watch them all . I may have issues......
Cheers for this, as ever very useful. Lovely powerful output. Any chance you'll be getting the SST40 and do a comparison, including the EC03 SST40? I get the impression the SST40 will be more general purpose/combination beam with more usable range and decent spill, even at the lesser 7000 lumens (which is respectable) and run cooler. Only a convincing video from you would make me pull the trigger! If the difference in performance between SST40 versions of FT02S and EC03 is as it is here for the XHP 50.2's then it's worth it. I complained about the beam pattern but in real world use it didn't bother me much.
Happy New Year!
Nice review my friend. You are the reason that i bought this baby and i dont regret it. I bought the cree version and the power is insane. The beam is nice and wide but it has a good throw as well. At 200m nothing escapes from this and for the record also you can see at 300m pretty fine. Thanks again for the review and for your help 😉
Thank you!
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV I also bought it but it broke down after a week, it can't be charged
I Maybe just mesed up and ordered the 6500K version. AAArrrgghhh !!! Thanks for the great video too.
SST40`s 6500K that is.
Amazing vid, cool flashlight. Continue the good work
Thumbs up for freezing your nads off for the cause.
Thanks for another excellent review, really appreciate your thoroughness. I wish I'd been more careful in looking at reviews before I purchased this light. It's nice looking, and I was drawn to the quad emitter thrower design (I got the sst-40), and the 26650 capacity, but the beam artifacts kill it for me, even out in the field. They don't seem to show up so much on camera. It also seems to me that the spill wastes a ton of light that could be down range; the shallow parts of the reflector just don't shape the beam effectively. Almost all my lights are Emisar and Astrolux (love that Anduril), and of all of them this one is sitting on the bench. Now I'm looking forward to my EA01 arriving!
Astrolux are great for the price but the beam and tint are often lacking. They are more reliable than Imalent, Fireflies and Lumintop and quarter of the price of Emisar. Thst little bit of fine tuning and Astrolux will be the dogs!!!
Your neighbors must love you.
Very good review and very powerful astrolux flashlight.
Thanks! 👍
Brilliant review - hope the torch was good enough to find your frozen nads in all that snow - strange you didn't show that bit?
An Olight kept my pocket warm
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Until it burned through ....been there, got the t-shirt!
BTW, first time I beat you to it. Mine arrived the day before😋
Damn, I did not see that coming 9:17
About the same performance as the EC03, which I have, but glad I ordered the sst40 version of the FT02S. Have many xhp50 compact lights already
The FT03S is putting out much more lumens than the EC03, even if the comparison looks similar. A camera can only show so much
I could always use another 21700 light, nice review! Any chance you'll be reviewing the Sofirn SF47T in the future? It just quietly showed up in their store.
I'll have a look.
Nice bro. Happy new year 🙏🙏🎆🎆
Hopefully better than 2020!
Halo bang
How many amperes does the flashlight Astrolux FT02s consume from the battery in basic modes? You can measure between the battery and the case with the cover open.
The best value of lumens/price!
Great review my friend!
I just ordered one today using your discount code...thank you very much for all the effort and time put in this video .
could you please tell me where i can get the diffuser you used in this video for the Astrolux FT02S ?

Well - that's another nice piece of flashlight you showed us! But there's one thing I don't like: the way of illumination. Too patchy - isn't it? By the way I like dangerous places 👁️
I just got the TK04 same thing just with the brand name of mateminco on it but I wish it had an option for a longer tube so it could take 2 21700s because for me the head is really to big to carry in my pocket and it would feel better longer but I'm sure the circuitry would not like 8v
your neighbors must love you
One doesn't the other is a smack rat so is unawares
Nice review man. How long does it take to step down in turbo mode? 30seconds?
I have the sst40 LEDs so it's only supposed to be like 7000 lumens instead of 11000 but the throw is supposed to go further but presumably they don't make as much heat as the other ones and I just tried mine and it lasted a minute and 30 seconds before I decide it was hot enough and turned it off

@FLASHAHOLIC the price you quoted with the code is only for the SST40 version, the XHP50.2 is $51 with the code. You might want to mention that to avoid confusion. I was going to comment that the code was not right and then realized the SST40 version was cheaper.
Sorted.
Great review as per usual mate... Got the exact same one arrive yesterday along with a haikelite HK04 and I've got to admit the Haikelite is alot better in my personal opinion and around the same price its got the perfect mix of throw and flood... 13000 lumen and around 850m throw its shocked me how good it is... I dont like the rings you can see in the beam on the FT02S... HAPPY NEW YEAR MATE 🎉👍🏼
Cheers. deep multi-reflector lights nearly always have artifacts or insane petals, shame really.
''around the same price''?? Where??
@@smitthone banggood there was £2 difference when i bought them... The xhp50.2 ft02s was £41 and the Haikelite hk04 was £43
@@smitthone but now just checked they're adding £15 shipping on most of the flashlights 😔
Any reason not to choose the HK04 13000 lumens? Some say quality and finish of the Haikelite is not as good. Thanks!
Thanks matt, went with the SST40 and glad I did for that extra throw and being less ringy.
Do I prefer it over the Q8, not sure but I do love it.
Didn't expect the battery to make such a difference, I'll have to use my Molicel p42a then.
I'm not sure if this thing is brighter than my Q8 which makes me unsure of whether it's 11k Lumens, I have the XHP50.2 version with a Samsung 40T and swear the FT02S looks about 4500 lumens, although it could be that the Q8 is also a beast at throwing so it lights up more of the backyard
Very nice video but why is has a big diference bitween batteries? For fst driver like in ft03 or performance of battery? I bought a 40A 26650(flat top) for my ft03 sst40 and it is stronger than my 15A 18650!?
Excellent video.. how do you think the new Astrolux EA01S will compare to this?
Probably floodier with hopefully a nicer beam profile
yay, the mid roll special effects are back e.g. 3:59
lol
Damn i've buy the SST40 5000K version and i'm happy to see the beam is too horrible with XHP50 version :D. at 2:30
I've astrolux MF01S , MF01mini, EC01 and EC03
And i'm happy of them.
But this light no... the dark spot on beam are make me sad at use
Purchase that I regret. My first regret for astrolux light
Perfome are nice but the beam looks like a kaleidoscope with two big dark spot.
I think XHP version reduces this effect, but for Luminus version I cannot advise them
The ASTROLUX FT02S XHP50.2 does not have the glitch when smooth ramping the brightness unlike other astrolux's...which is nice!!
I've never noticed one
What are your favorite floody lights so far? I'm looking for something that combines power, usable run times and proper build quality. Whichever sizes, what would you pick if you could only have one?
I'm seriously considering the D18 for its quality. I don't know which way to go edc wise.
I like my ROT66GEN II 219B, nice tint, even but throwy beam
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Nice, thanks for the inputs.
It has strange dark rings, which in my opinion in not good
if your LED is SST40, the XHP doesnt have any
The Code ist not Working for me :( I have a Imalent DN70 .
The FT02S was intended as a backup with better throw.
how about the Sofirn SP36 BLF vs Astrolux FT02S ? which one do you prefer? Thanks
Some people complained about rings and artifacts in the beam pattern, did you notice it?
Yeah a few, and a violet tinge on the outer spill but there wasn't annoying petals at least. TIR optics remove artifacts but often narrow the spill.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV strange, the photos on BLF show petals
@@PiercingTheDarkness Watch the review, the spill is pretty much perfectly round like a conventional single LED reflector, there are just some black rings near the outer edges.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV I have done, just different than what everyone else is saying who has the exact version.
I'm a dealer for Mateminco so I'm on the fence as to whether I stock this model or not.
Will you do a review on the EA01?
@@PiercingTheDarkness Maybe we will see, I have a lot to get through! For the price the artefacts are worth putting up with imo. The IMALENT DT70 had a worse beam and that light was legendary.

Are you planning on reviewing the E12R XPL-2?
Should be in the post!
Looks like good flashlight, but didn't convince me to buy it as EC03 is still beast 🤣less power consumstion and nice spill, noticed that the Ft02s has some weird corona donuts 🤔
The sst40 ec03 has a tighter hotspot for more throw. I like the xhp50.2 though. Miniature sun ☀️
So far which one is the best sst40 or xhp50.2?
@@a.dinhoanrose5284 the sst40 profile is longer throw but casts quite a spill in fact. The close up hotspot the 50.2 is double the size hotspot of the sst40. If you want more up front illumination the 50.2 will make daytime to your immediate surroundings and then some. Sst will throw further with a tighter center hotspot. Sst has a greener hue on the up ramp but evens off to CW. The xhp50 seems more blue to me. If I had to part with one. I could not decide.
@@a.dinhoanrose5284 For me I prefer Xhp 50.2 Because it has higher lumens and very bright and wide beam

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV thanks so much! I do appreciate it.
mr matt will you be testing out the SST version as well? i'm stuck between the SP36 BLF or FT02S SST, if anyone has suggestions on the two feel free
Well the Sp36 is a great light but is too bulky, and floody, the Ft02s sst40 is more versatile and practical and more throwy, but have a rainbow effect in the beam, if you want a real budget king is the Astrolux Ft03 Xhp50.2 is a combination of throw and flood without the rainbow effect in the beam.
SP36 BLF edition would be my pick although I do not have an FT02S to compare it to.
You can get warm white high CRI versions from Sofirn if you're game to order from them.
Although 5000k is still high CRI thanks to the Samsung emitters if you order from elsewhere.

Compared to Haikelite HK04 XHP50.2 which one is better?
Always very informative. The code: BGAFT02S seems to have expired. Is it possible to get a working discount code? Thanks in advance and keep up the good word!
Hey is it better Ft02s or Haikelite HK04?
Hi. How long work with high mode.
Is there a copper version planned?
Bought one of these - Sand coloured XHP50.2 5700K.. It's got quite a bad flicker (obviously not in lightning/candle modes, etc..).. Is this something you've experienced? I've tried three different batteries in it, two Samsung 40T 30A 21700 (which both work perfectly in my EC03) and one 26650 cell that came with my Wowtac A5 and it does the same thing with all of them, so it's not a battery issue.
You've clearly got lots of experience. Any thoughts? Just faulty?
Cheers
A lot of lights flicker, it may need the contacts cleaning preferably with alcohol all the driver might need tightening with tweezers.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Thanks for the reply. Just gave it a quick clean, didn't sort it. (It was pretty grubby though - aside from the lube on the threads). Next stop, tightening the driver. I'll update here.
Right, undid the locking ring in the head, that holds the driver in place. Gave it a clean up and repositioned and tightened it right up, and all seems good now. Cheers.
Great
Do would you recommend this as a budget, best buy pocket rocket?
I have a Klarus XT 10 and an Olight S1 baton.
For budget one ec01 or ec03 its unbeatable for price and power for the size. I have ec01 (20euro)for 8 months and work great, is my edc flashlight.
What are you using? That sits on the bezzle and glows yellow then another that glows blue? I purchased this light because of your video but would like purchase those attachments whatever they may be
Do you have a timestamp?
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV no. Not to sure what one is?
What diffuser do you use for making the cool blue effect lamp?.....
20p pop carton
Can I use a protected 21700 cell in this? Lets a fenix 21700?
I have a question. If I get a battery that had a constant 50amp discharge, will it be brighter than a battery with a constant 30amp discharge? I know the voltage is what really makes the light brighter, but some batteries with the same voltage are less powerful than others. I would like to know how this works.
It's the amp difference that makes the power on different 3.7V cells, at the moment around 35amps is the most from a 21700 you can get.
Thanks for the review! Very professional and useful, especially the comparison side by side beam shots. Also great music. I have a Sofirn SP70 and am looking to get a Coke can size light with more flood than the SP70. Thinking about Haikelite HK04 13000 lumens or new Sofirn SP36 Pro, but this Astrolux FT02S seems better than the SP36 in the video. Also, is Haikelite quality as good as Sofirn or Astrolux? All are in my price range of under $100 USD. HK04 has the most lumens, but no comparison beam shots to view. Does anyone have some recommendations? Thanks and Happy New Year!
Haikelite quality seems ok, never had a faulty one, but they overestimate their lumens and the tint is usually painfully white.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Thanks for the fast reply! Between the Astrolux FT02S and FT03 which do you prefer? How about Haikelite HK04 vs. MT40? Thanks again.
