i hate these adds cus the frustration makes you wanna get the app and thats exactly what the marketers want, it feels lowkey manipulative
the purpose of advertising is quite literally manipulation. all ads are designed to manipulate you into buying their stuff.
And then you download it and it's nothing like the ad, like a completely different game
What? No it doesn't. It makes me want to do absolutely nothing with the app, and press Skip as soon as I can.
I've installed apps before and still gotten ads for that app.... This is why I only install games that have offline play.

The funny thing is that after years ignoring the weird ads, I actually downloaded Project Makeover (the first ad) expecting it to suck ass and laugh a lot, but what I found was a fun and pretty charming game?? It's so fun that it's been less than a week and I'm already on level 393.
Like guys. The game is good. It's well made. Why are you intentionally sabotaging your own reputation by making these weird ads?

I mean, I guess it worked since I eventually downloaded it. But I'd have done it ages ago if I saw how cute and well made the real deal is.

@@xt.willow i mean, it is, but like. it's really charming on its own. the writing isn't the most revolutionary and profound, but it's fun and so are the designs.
i also like costumizing my director and seeing other players'. plus, with the way you can play ads to get more moves for free, it's not nearly as predatory as other games.
it's not the most amazing game in the world. but its charming. it's quite ironic though, since the story is basically about helping others to find confidence in being their true selves, and yet the ads are so insecure about their product.

I would love for someone to cover the less insane, but almost more annoying, mobile game ads with fake tik tokers pretending to play the game. You know where they're clearly just tapping random spots on their screens then, them wearing a different outfit "enters the room" and wants to know what the "other person" is doing and by the end they're both playing. I feel like those ones are unconvincing as both an ad and a supposed tik tok.
I can even envision the title "They're paying 'tiktokers' to play mobile games now" or something of the sort and the phrase "Their @ss ain''t playing sh*t 😂🤣" plastered in the thumbnail
Or the ones where the presenter starts yelling at me about how amazing this particular character from some knockoff anime game, and if I sign up today I get three free globors, a dozen zandiezz, and a month of free qmntrl. Lol

I think these ads are a bit disgusting because their target audience is children. Probably children who aren’t even in middle school. They’re predatory and a lot of them are over sexualised.
If you happen to have trauma with labor or miscarriage some of these adds must be quite triggering. You can't even block specific adds or report them.
Also what I loved about these ads.... They constitute 0%-5% of actual gameplay and the graphics are ad only.

I might be one of a few, but lot of these ads give me a general sense of misogyny: like they are marketing these by showing what feels to me is a form of abuse, even if it is toward a virtual avatar ncp thing (purposeful head shaving, throwing drinks onto her, the bad outfits, etc.). Like, its supposed to be a stupid game, but stupid games have real effects. Imagine treating someone in your care like this. It just feels like a toxic thing to be showing multiple times an hour while playing Angry Birds. Icky vibes.
But like you say around 5:30 it's all either this, or "Help Her" vibes, both of which don't shine well on women.

You should make a video where you download the games from the ads and compare the actual gameplay to what's shown in the videos promoting it, as usually it's comepletely off. The way they always choose the worst option out of the availiable ones as well is so frusterating (obviously so more people download and try to "do better") it would still be satisfying if someone (you) could make a video where you play the games "correctly" all in one i think.
