I have both. Both are excellent . For long driving distance 100 series. But the 80 series has better capabilities off road, and the cool factor and 30 years from now will be unavailable and unattainable, just like the 40 series now. But awesome trucks nevertheless.
@chasedyer5950 the 450s arr hard to come by and if you get one, will be a rare one If it has lockers. But 470s are out there. The ones to get will be the 06 07. Better mpg and more power. Also xtra airbags. The 98, 99 are ok too. And some have rear lockers. V8 needs a timing belt that needs to have it replaced every 90k miles, and they are awesome.
@chasedyer5950 yes the 100 series has torsion bars for the lift. They limit the lift you can put on them. But 35 will fit with a negative offset wheel and a bit of trimming in the front. The lx comes with the hydraulic suspension and that also adds to the headache. Because is really nice when it works. But most people that had this trucks, nevers serviced the system and they are expensive to fix and most people just use the regular spring and shock setup.
But y’all good and well that 100 Series ain’t “fragile.” 😂🤙🏼

I’m looking to build an off road rig and can’t really find any good 450’s. Why don’t people build many 470’s?

@@jgcruisers 🫡 Any problems with going bigger than 35s on the 470s?
