Just bought a 1999 LX470 with 147k miles for $1,000. Needed a battery and could use new tires, bc the others are older. Everything works as it should. A wealthy family kept it since new and rarely used it.
Have the same rig, got rid of the 3rd row seats. It is very comfortable rig for long travel & off-roading.. Mine is a 2000, i am about to swap out all my shocks, globes, CV axles, and other minor parts- i like it all OEM- i am out in the California desert, take it on all the trails. The LX470 Stocked with good A/T tires can go anywhere! You dont have to spend crazy money on a build. These rigs are overbuilt.
The spoiler at the back is to keep the rear window clean. Or at least cleaner than it would be without it. My 1998 doesn't have it, and the rear window does pick up a lot of road grime, sucked up due to the aerodynamics, or lack thereof.
We're original owners of an '01 LX. No squeaks or rattles. All settings of the suspension are smooth and the steering is rock solid. No wind noise to speak of. If your LX has these issues then you need to investigate the cause because it didn't leave the factory in Japan this way. The automatic wipers can be dumbed down to simple intermittent style using Toyota's Tech Stream software. As for windshield noise I'd look at the windshield glass as being an inferior replacement piece or poor installation workmanship.
Great video! Check out the diagram for your cars fuse box and see if there is a fuse that is linked specifically to the windshield wiper sensor. Not totally sure if that’s something that would work but it’s a good place to start!

I like 07” lx470 only problem is gas. Overall still a great SUV.
@@sokhayin3055 I recently switched jobs where I’m close to home, but it’s all city driving. I’m lucky to get over 12 mpg.
