@cpk1994 You seem to be confused. The Last Jedi used a wide-angle camera while JJ's looked more vintage. The Rise of Skywalker utilized the same camera that was used from TFA so that Carrie _could_ be in this movie. Using Leia's unused footage from The Last Jedi would've been too difficult and even if it _could've_ been done, people would still complain about it.
I hope we will have a directors cut, TROS. And I hope CF daughter will step in and step up to do some of the cuts & clips. I know I hope for a lot, and still.. I would simply love it.

She was also great and fitting to watch in Will and Grace because it was a nod of respect to Debbie Reynolds who had played Grace Adler's mother in that series. Billie did two tributes lately and I love the creative teams who put that out in the force.
When I was younger I thought Padme was more beautiful than Leia because, you knok, Natalie Portman, but now older, I can see that Carrie had things with more value than beauty, she had charm, charisma, and was also beautiful, of course. Carrie was, and is, the best.

Leia’s exit was absolutely beautiful. Using the Force, giving her life literally to bring back her son to the light. And no words can be used to describe how much I miss Carrie. Our beloved Princess.
Billie should be the only person aloud to play Leia in any future projects that may feature the character in her younger years...it would give all fans a warm feeling to know Carrie’s daughter is on screen instead of some other person, it would feel like Leia herself is still with us.

I really loved TROS. Leia is my favorite star wars character. And they nailed it. She was a Jedi master. The general of The resistance. You could feel her throughout The whole movie. It really was a Leia movie even if she was only 10 minutes in it. Her presence was in the whole movie what Made it her movie. She did Rise And became a Skywalker. Where Obi-one failed Anakin and where Luke failed Ben as masters. Leia did not fail Rey. Where Han and Luke could not bring Ben back to The light. Leia could. This movie will be forever in my heart. This movie may not have been perfect, but it would've been a crime to not have had at least some of Carrie somewhere in the film. They did what they could and that's all you can do. Unfortunately they didn't succeed with the Leia footagie in RoS. She had a few very contrived oneliners, and you could tell that all the other characters' dialog was inserted to accommodate for those oneliners. Othertimes she just stands there smiling or looking like a deer in the headlights. It's really jarring. If this was the best usable footage they had, Carrie Fisher must have nailed most of her without many re-takes. R.I.P Princess Fisher.

I know the sequels are widely hated cuz of how they were handled and a lot of people would rather they were erased from canon and remade. But it's reasons like this why I feel that would be disrespectful towards Carrie Fisher as it would undermine her final performance as Leia. I'm not the biggest fan of The Last Jedi, but I still cherish her moments in the movie. Like when she slaps and then later stuns Poe, when she says "What are you looking at me for? Follow him." and of course her reunion with Luke before he goes to face Kylo Ren. And at least they do show a dedication to her in the end credits. Just a pity Rise of Skywalker didn't do the same for Peter Mayhew though, which also feels kind of disrespectful.

I'm impressed how well they incorporated the unused footage of her into Rise of Skywalker. At the very least it's not insulting like how they used recycled footage of Peter Sellers in Curse of the Pink Panther.
She never finished her training and never actually executed being a jedi. Furthermore, Luke still probably was more powerful and Leia really didnt want to be a jedi. That is also why her lightsaber was at the island

It’s difficult to measure power, especially when its about a mysthical force... What you can definitely tell is that they both are given an immense amount of sensitivity for the force due to their heritage. But without learning to use the force, both of them would have been totally normal persons. Leia was involved in the rebellion even long before Luke was... However, it was Luke who was trained to be a Jedi before he got to know that Leia was his sister. It was clearly shown and hinted at in Empire Strikes back and RoTJ that she was force sensitive as well. Therefore, it seemed like a logical conclusion that she was trained by Luke. The fact that it was not revealed until the last movie shows that the story was developed from movie to movie. People criticize the sequels for that, which I think is stupid because the original trilogy was also developed from movie to movie. There usually isnt one plan that never changes.... However, Luke showed in the Last Jedi (which I loved btw) that he in the end became one of the most poweful Jedi, creating this illusion on crait. Leia could have been equally powerful I think, maybe in a different way... (f.ex. mace windu was one of the best lightsaber figthers of all time, while yoda (who was also a grear fighter) was probably the wisest jedi of all)
I want to motion - in the next triliogy, or in the next Star Wars Universe (non main canon) film . . . . Billie Lourd's character deserves to have their own story. I want to see her continue in this frachise.
Palpatine took away a Skywalker from the Galaxy...so the Force made it so that the Skywalkers took a Palpatine as their own in return. This peaceful thought helps me find some long vision consistency in what the new trilogy added to the Saga.

Billie has her mother’s smile. She looks so similar to Carrie. I’m sure she was so happy she could be her mother’s stand in.

Yeah she died in Dec 2016 after finishing filming of TLJ in July 2016, they didn't start filming TROS until August 2018.

I'm impressed how well they incorporated the unused footage of her into Rise of Skywalker. At the very least it's not insulting like how they used recycled footage of Peter Sellers in Curse of the Pink Panther.

What I dont get is why was it so important to bring Luke back if leia herself was just as strong a jedi??
She never finished her training and never actually executed being a jedi. Furthermore, Luke still probably was more powerful and Leia really didnt want to be a jedi. That is also why her lightsaber was at the island

It's a little muddled.
Lady Luna Can you tell whether Yoda was stronger than Mace Windu? Can you tell whether Sidious was stronger than Plagueis? Can you tell that the Empire was stronger than the First Order? It’s difficult to measure power, especially when its about a mysthical force... What you can definitely tell is that they both are given an immense amount of sensitivity for the force due to their heritage. But without learning to use the force, both of them would have been totally normal persons. Leia was involved in the rebellion even long before Luke was... However, it was Luke who was trained to be a Jedi before he got to know that Leia was his sister. It was clearly shown and hinted at in Empire Strikes back and RoTJ that she was force sensitive as well. Therefore, it seemed like a logical conclusion that she was trained by Luke. The fact that it was not revealed until the last movie shows that the story was developed from movie to movie. People criticize the sequels for that, which I think is stupid because the original trilogy was also developed from movie to movie. There usually isnt one plan that never changes....
However, Luke showed in the Last Jedi (which I loved btw) that he in the end became one of the most poweful Jedi, creating this illusion on crait. Leia could have been equally powerful I think, maybe in a different way... (f.ex. mace windu was one of the best lightsaber figthers of all time, while yoda (who was also a grear fighter) was probably the wisest jedi of all)
Because Leia was always more the political and military leader. While Luke was the Jedi. She left the Jedi path because of that.
I want to motion - in the next triliogy, or in the next Star Wars Universe (non main canon) film . . . . Billie Lourd's character deserves to have their own story. I want to see her continue in this frachise.
Kind of wish they'd actually made her character Han and Leia's daughter so Ben would've had a sister too. But I guess they didn't do that cuz of Rey.

This peaceful thought helps me find some long vision consistency in what the new trilogy added to the Saga.
