HOW TO FIX BMX HUBS! FREECOASTER AND CASSETTE REPAIR 101! That's right, we first walk you through the tear down, disassembly, and how to fix basic issues with your bmx hubs, both the freecoaster and cassette version. The hubs that were showcased were the Demolition Whistler Lite (with males axles) BMX hub and the Cult Crew BMX Freecoaster with female axles.

I'd like to see you disassemble a hub all the way down and this might sound stupid but can you change the bearings in a hub without a press without messing the bearings up
Thanks for the knowledge I will try to file down the nut piece on the hub. Phu is definitely right I l started doing a lot of feebles outside on some crusty ledges no hub guard. Next day went out to cruise and I definitely noticed rear hub definitely seized up I would peddle and see the back wheel stop almost instantly even with no breaks on so I knew the wheel wasn’t rubbing on the pads stopping it from spinning freely.

7:55 Reminds me of my friend when we used to have only pegs on the left he cut his axle on the right hand side of his bike flush with his axle nut with a grinder when we was out riding he snapped his axle doing a ice pick stall on a ledge cutting the axle must’ve made it oxidise and that’s why it snapped 👎

Does the bigger the hub make any difference riding besides the sound?
Its the driver side spacer that you mention necessary? I cant find the exact cone nut for my hub, i go another one and it does work but only when I remove the spacer. 3:45

Churr from rotorua,new zealand,could you tell us more about,the difference in costs regarding,if sealed bearing ,spindles,sprockets,are chromoly or steel.ive noticed rant sealed bearings are cheaper compared to a ,odyssey or shadow bottom bracket per say.love your work pho and alf,primo.
ChroMoly is steel. It just has Chromium and Molybdenum added.

Ok i meant the detail in parts material ,engineering and design,a good example is,a 8 spline chromoly spindle ,compared too a 48 spline hollow 19 mm heat treated spindle.or chromoly vs sanko chromoly.the real nitty gritty detail in bmx design and enginering my mate.

I have an Alex rim g303 6061 106x24 Xrims with a Gt hub 9 tooth sprocket and for some reason I can’t get it to keep from locking up Its an old school cuz the bearings are not sealed so any suggestions
