He didn't say it would never happen, he said it wouldn't be a regular thing. Vegas is far from regular and the sphere has done nothing but lose money and be obnoxious.
For that beginning section being the demo, and therefore having a lot of polish, there are multiple things that confuse the player simply by design choice. First, the "EVERY SECOND COUNTS" statement makes players think they have to rush out to the hostage or they'll fail. In reality, if you take too long, an officer gets shot in the leg and dragged away, then if you take longer you are just forced outside. You can take your time here, but most players miss most of the information in this scene because they think they're on a strict time limit. I understand it's meant to convey urgency to the scene, but all it does is make players miss almost everything in the level. Second, Displaying the "UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED" and "SAVE ALL HOSTAGES" missions side by side both when they're introduced and when you bring up the missions manually makes the player think it's a choice: either gather information or save the hostages. In reality, you have to find out what happened IN ORDER TO save the hostage. By making the "choice" to save the hostages, you miss the information, which ironically lowers your chances of saving the hostage. It should really have been written as one mission: "UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED AND SAVE THE HOSTAGES". I've seen multiple people play this mission and just make a B-Line straight for the door outside, missing all of the context of the scene. Simply doing away with the "EVERY SECOND COUNTS" and writing the missions as one would allow players to actually experience this scene, instead of tunnel vision-ing straight past it and making mistakes in the encounter that they could've avoided by taking their time.

Or why no one pursued this missing child, or why they couldn't go to the police. But then that dumb twist later lol. God I hate David Cage. The only good characters were Connor and Hank and Cage didn't even write them or like them.
The child android plotline is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen and it makes watching someone play this when you know she's not a human so painful. Like, the whole time Kara is going through hell to take care of this kid who isn't a child and doesn't need the kind of things a human kid would. Like even if androids are 100% sentient beings worthy of ethical consideration, she's still an android and should be more durable/self sufficient than a human child, no? I'm failing to see a difference between a child android and an adult one outside of how they look on the outside. It looks so manipulative even though they weren't going for that angle at all.
Yup, I have a love/hate relationship with this game because I adore Connor and Hank as characters and think their storyline is pretty interesting but I couldn't care less about Markus and Kara. Would've been a much better game if they just focused on Connor.

Wait, so if that girl looks like those child androids, does that mean she IS one? If so, why did the mother react to Connor that way at the beginning? And those child androids are mass-produced, so there's no reason for a hostage situation as both of them would be shot down immediately. Alternatively the child at the start IS real, and her likeness was used for those androids, except... that would imply her or her parents are in a position of significance at Cyberlife, but no info presented about the parents indicates this, and this would also conflict with the mother's immediate reaction to Connor. Ugh, more reasons why that plot twist might be the single most egregious thing David Cage has ever written...
I mean, if it were real life, sure I'd save my friend even if they had an 89% chance of surviving, but this is a video game. When you're in Gaming Mode™, 89% means the charcter will live because it's a pain to write a character being simultaneously being dead/alive. And Hank does live in 100% of the time in this scenario.

It's crazy how many signs are there that Alice is an android. Not only is she the same girl Connor saves at the beginning, but she is not mentioned a single time either by Todd on the TV, or by the police to Hank and Connor.
Ugh, more reasons why that plot twist might be the single most egregious thing David Cage has ever written...
that's incorrect, the child at the beginning was not an android hence the reaction from the mom. and the fact they were preparing a family dinner
This game has the mystifying ability to bring the most entertaining side out of every single person who plays it
Literally never saw anyone spill Hank's drink.
never been genuinely mad at him until then
31:40 jerma is so relatable
Really nice edit!! Hope to see #2 soon
18:05 Such a sweet summer child, Jerma is.
16:05 makes me laugh so much..... He never could have guessed that the Las Vegas Sphere would exist in his timeline
bro every time someone chooses to not save hank. its MIND BOGGLING TO ME. THE WHOLE GAME IS ABOUT- ARE YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GAME BRO????
Chill
I mean, if it were real life, sure I'd save my friend even if they had an 89% chance of surviving, but this is a video game. When you're in Gaming Mode™, 89% means the charcter will live because it's a pain to write a character being simultaneously being dead/alive. And Hank does live in 100% of the time in this scenario.
@@vic2249 fair, its just whole game is about being human and shit. like hank says "what am i, a statistic to you?" like idc if a statistic shows up over someones head dawg, that old man might die, like ofc hank is mad you just left him there, i feel like if you're not fully invested into the story and your choice is to chase the deviant, you're being a little silly.
edit: especially when people are confused or upset that hank is angry.. like come on man- Jerma didn't seem like that surprised, but some other people are like "wait what why is he angry at me :/"
@@NightTimeDay im not like angry at them, its just confusing to me. choose whatever the hell you want, jerm clearly didn't take a liking to Hank as much as other people did, so its totally fair. i just cant imagine as a player ever choosing the deviant option when the game is so clearly screaming at you its gonna be the worse choice.
it always seems like a willful attempt to not let the obvious story play out to me, with Jerma, he’s just a silly guy
i zoned in and out for the first minute of this and i got so confused, PREGNANT? HUH? DISNEY WORLD? HUH???? KELLOGS????? RIOTS???????
Thank you for your work
Amazing thumbnail
“sorry ladies, but plastic can’t be beat” is a wild line considering the ladies have known that for literal decades
16:20 yeah then the sphere happened
