This was suggested on when in had AutoZone scan my truck but I was in the middle of changing the cam and a stuck valve lifter. This makes sense. Changed my oil. Changed the oil pressure sensor. Still having low pressure when it’s hot.
@@ItsMeJonnyD see I was thinking it was the oil pump but I hadn’t touched that part at all and i can tell it’s pumping it around. Once I watched your video then others about the vlom, I see why it would not work well. Especially after a lifter failed.

That is called deactivation solenoid I already changed all that and pressure goes under 40 I’m about to burn this GMC Sierra ,,, now days these companies are making and selling us trash

Best of luck! When I first started having issues I swapped out the pressure switch, the screen and all the normal things including the oil pickup tube. This part fixed it.
Is it still holding even at operating temperature? Mine is have the same issue, 38-40psi at startup, after driving around town and everything warms up my pressure idles at 18-20psi. I replaced sending unit and screen as well as dropped the pan and replaced pickup oring. Using mobil1 5w30 with wix filter. Truck has 175,000 miles.

Thanks! Not sure in all honesty. However the truck has some serious mileage from it being a workhorse and its might be that it was a salvage vehicle from flodding caused by a hurricane.
Ok that happens on my wife yukonand I replaced that part and fix that Now I swap a 6.2 engine on my work truck but this engine has no fuel management system the cover has nothing on the cap you think the is not blocking the oil ports on the block or has a leak cold start 45 psi the soonest it reach 200 drop to 18 idle,
My 07 silverado 2500hd lost oil pressure down to 8psi swapped out the oil pressure sending unit to no luck. Changed the valley pan gasket and running 38psi warm.
@@ItsMeJonnyD yes there are a couple hick ups, but the front end is garbage. Tie rods, Pitman arm, idler arm, center link. Kryptonite sells a front end package that is a must.
On my 2013 1500 LT low pressure in gear at idle and it dips. No warning light and had change oil pressure sensor. Also has a low vibrating feel and sound while off acceleration and at idle. Oil pressure normal when in drive but still lower than 40. Notice when in idle the vibrating feel and sound started then my oil pressure slowly climbed but only passed the lowest safe point, if there was any. Im going to try this manifold deal, hopefully it is that and not the pickup tube or pump. I just did a oil change
I just did the same, pressure is at 50psi on cold start but idles at 20 after being completely warm, sits at 35-40 psi on the highway, did you end up fixing yours?
Im having that problem rn ive changed the oil pump the oil sensor and stills give me around 20, 23 psi oil presure a few days ago the engine points started rattleing What could it be?
There could be alot more to the problem then. It could be the pickup tube, the screen inside where the oil sensor goes, or the oil pump. Check your drain plug and see if you still have the gasket on there as well
Whats your issue everyone who thinks low oil pressure is bad aslong as it maintains 27psi which is the required psi to activate and deactivate the lifters your fine.. lower oil pressure at idle is because of less resistance the pumo has to do aslong as the pressure goes up with rpm your fine
Im currently working on my 2010 chevy avalanche 5.3 I had the same problem after doing a AFM/DOD DELETE put a new cam and cam bearings lifters new high volume oil pump I still had low oil pressure my last option right now is changing the crankshaft and rod bearings 😢lol

Im gonna do dod delete.and put on ICT vally cover.and relocate the oil psi to the bottom by the oil filter. Hopefully that will work longer

I had that issue too, it could be an oil pickup tube it could something small like the o ring on the pickup tube

Did you change the oil screen under the oil pressure sensor before you replaced the intake gasket?
I changed it a week before i replaced the lifter manifold. Just to verify that it wasnt the sensor or the filter.

Yikes! If its ticking or rattling it might be a collapsed lifter. Unfortunately the 5.3 between 07-13 weren't made the best because of that DOD system
