- This is my Airfix 1/72 Full build of the ME 262 1A, a great fighter jet, and great kit from Airfix, a project that took me 1 and half day to conclude. please note that the kit is a tail sitter, didn´t had any led or wights and all i wanted to do was having some fun building, and the landing gear unglued during the final takes so what looks like a badly assembles landing gear is actualy... badly glued:):) Thank you, for watching my videos, and God Bless!

Nicely done. As I do make use of the acrylic paints in starter sets (the matt ones at least) I shall remember that tip about the tape dispensers - thanks!

I wanted to do that kit when I was 18 back in '87, Thanks for doing it for me. Now, I think it needs a few AIM9Xs mounted to it, and of course it will need a cuing system for the pilot.

well done alex! the model looks great and and i am glad that you enjoyed making it. the me262 took its maiden flight on a base nearby my place and is relevant for the entire region due to its manufacturing back then. highly interesting topic!

oh yes, she is :) have seen a 262 in Munich and also some bits of here at the Leipheim airfield museum (where she took the maiden flight and was also built to a certain extend).
Hamilkar Barkas and to think that when it flew if only Hitler didn t asked for a 500 kg bomb this jet would have actualy made THE diference... makes you think! :)

I see many modelers using a “surfacer,” but what does it do exactly? Can you put any paint on top of it or is it limited to acrylics?

Cool. My next aircraft will be a MIG 29 Fulcrum A of the German Bundeswehr. The aircraft come from the former GDR and were taken over. The first MIG 29 in NATO owned. Have you already seen my finished EC 135 ADAC?

this is again a very nice build Alex, really enjoyed watching the video. Looks like it fits really nicely so well done indeed Airfix, i was going to ask it but i just saw in in you comment that it is a tailsitter ... was thinking it, sad they do not specify in the instruction that you need to put some weight in the nose
+jean grieten Yes Jean... i disn t had any led and the weight i improvised was not enough and would compromise the fit! But even so... it was just a tad fitly on the engines fit but even so a pleasure!
+jean grieten Oh and they do specify that it needs weight ok? It was my bad! But this one is already on a wood base simulating concrete so iys glued and no problem with that! :)
no i do not think they do, i have seen it on some instructions but mostly they do not even tell anything, or when they say it is need they do not specify neither how much ... so that would be a nice thing for them to do would be easier

How big is this model in length?
A great little build, Alex...too small for me though, my eyes cannot cope with that scale anymore! I had to use putty on the front wheel of my Skyhawk, because the instructions didn't indicate that nose weight was required. Cheers : )

Great build I have to find one in a 1/48 scale. Have you seen the modern rebuild? Everything is modern of course but its quite a sight to see one flying!

Doing the beaufighter tf.X atm good kit exept its impossible to put theinstrument panel in it because it just dont fit (WAY TO BIG)
