An interesting and beautiful trail! Jera and Yoshio-san are both amazing to be hiking like that in their 70s! The climb through the torii tunnels at Fushimi Inari was a sight!⛩⛩⛩ Looking forward to parts two and three of this adventure! 👍
Thank you, Dean, for this first instalment of what I imagine will be quite an interesting and rigorous hike! It is nice that you have introduced us to your friends and to see Keiji again, of course. I break out into a smile every time I see his face. I remember Yoshio-san from four years ago and how you were so surprised to meet him on that challenging trail. I am pleased to know that you have become friends after such a chance encounter! I'll watch this video a couple times over, and look forward to your next episode.
Hi Dean & Keiji! Keiji, you are so strong at such a young age and have the best smile. The scenery was spectacular & the narration superb. It was really cool seeing you do the adventure with two older friends and them sharing about their lives. Amazing video!
Keiji is SUCH a trooper! It was a big surprise to see Yoshio-san again, as your encounter with him as your encounter with him in Wakayama left an indelible impression on me. I'm really looking forward to the next two parts of this series! Also, there is a guy in Kyushu/Fukuoka area with a couple of channels, "Kyushu Trail" and "Japan Trail Cam" with a son a little younger than Keiji, but with seemingly similar interests, Wombat and Wombat Jr. (they are Aussie, if you couldn't tell). I think if the four of you could get together for a hike that would be a wonderful story. I mentioned it to Wombat and he seems keen.
This is really really good adventure in Japan, thanks for taking us along with you Dean, your youngster, I enjoyed it, can’t wait to start adventuring again soon, cheerzzz👌🏽👍🏼
The person you met in Kumano's old road was able to travel together again in this way. I respect Mr. Horikawa, who is so energetically walking around in the present personal environment. I'm looking forward to the Part-2Part-3, but Why don't you make a new series? Yoshi
Thanks for you comment, Yoshi 😊 I had hoped to be able make content with Horikawa-san for a long time. I'm so happy to have realized that and I think the reaction to his story is very good. I think people will love to hear and see him as much as I do. I think there is a good opportunity to continue and make more content. I would love to hear what people would like to see. Where do we go next and what do we try and accomplish together? 😀
Thanks Bob 😊 Your friends will love it. The great thing about the Kyoto Trail is you can get on and off it at so many points, it can be a day hike, a half day hike or even a few hours. Keiji is my stepson 😊
Came from John's channel Dean, such great work you do. Can't wait to be celebrating 1m subscribers with you in the near future! 👏👏👏
Wow, thank you Carpe Noctem 😍
Wow thanks for showing me this! Greetings from Gibraltar! 🇬🇮
Thanks for watching Ninja in Gibraltar! 😍
I love the back way up to Inari Shrine. Most people don't go that way. It's a really nice route. I love how the trail loops around the graveyard.
Yeah, I don't think we passed anyone coming in from that way. Incredible really considering the number of people at the shrine. Highly recommended! 😀
What amazing role models for Keiji!
Couldn't agree more Kellie...for me too! 😍
Thank you Dean, I love your videos and your kindness with Keji, a super kid.
Thank you, Janet! Keiji really come alive in part 2, I think you'll enjoy it. Give me 3-5 days to get it up 😊
Thanks again for taking us along with your adventures in Japan! I hope I can do HALF of what Jera and Yoshio-san are doing when I am in my 70s!!
You and me both, Wesmond! So glad I could start this relationship with Yoshio. I imagine I will be doing more videos with him now 😁
Great video! Horikawa-san introduced me to the Japanese Alps over ten years ago; I am glad to see he is still doing well.
Hi David! Glad you could see this. He continues to inspire 😍
Such a beautiful and inspiring series! It's really a testament to intergenerational friendships. So much to learn from each other.

Another informative and entertaining video. Keep up the good work, Dean! Keiji is such a super trooper! I love his British accent! lol
Sometimes I think Keiji has a more British accent than mine 😂

Thank you, Robb! I appreciate you giving my videos your time. After this serious I will upload a video I made with John actually 😁
Thanks for sharing! I love hiking myself, and it's nice to know of these trails when I return to Japan in 2022.
Hopefully by 2022 I’ll have given you plenty of options 😁
Can't wait for the next episodes.
Jera and Yoshio-san are so amazing and precious! It was a really good video Dean & Keiji, looking forward to the next one 😀

Nice, Dean! When I take my friends to Japan, they'll probably want to hike there! BTW, is that your son?
Thanks Bob 😊
