  • In this episode we take a close up look of a very capable 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ that was built by Matt over at BleepinJeep. The new owner has made a few upgrades and invited us to take a close up look of it. So many great upgrades that we hope to do on our Project XJ Overland build.

    Brad strange weather at 10:05. Every time the camera is on John, on his right side (ridge in the background) it looks like it's raining/sleeting, when it pans to you, rain has magically stopped. Pans back to John and it's raining again lol.

    • @TrailRecon
      @TrailRecon  7 років тому

      Great observation! We had some unplanned sprinkles out there and it seems like the camera that was zoomed in picked up the rain drops a little better.

    Frigging Awesome build! I'd like to do one but I'd pull the motor out and rebuild. The 4.0l can Really be built! Look it up, I've seen over 1000hp (UA-cam it, you can even stroke it!), but I'd just build it for like 300ish hp, but the rebuild not only doubles it's HP (at 300ish, 170 factory I think, varies) but also triples it's physical reliability! The upgraded internal parts Really make a Difference! And you'd have to rebuild the trans with a HD kit. But sweet as Hell!

I think building up a off road vehicle is a great idea to do with your sons! there are so many quality life skills and lessons to be had. from truck maintenance, to $avings, practicality, and quality vs cheap, and the fine line between!
