i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Israel Christian i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I put 33x12.50 on my XJ with the same fender trimming and 1.75" spacer and aal. I swapped some suspension and went to 3" lift and I can easily run 35s. May have some extra clearance since I'm using aftermarket control arms and the front axle is pushed forward almost an inch. Nice video!!!!
Sorry for the confusion My TJ is all set 3.5 Metalcloak short arm long travel lift 4:56 gears and lockers front and back bumpers winches hilift and more Just looking for a budget plan for an XJ Yours seems like a good start So any details on the XJ parts you listed above would be great
Coils: RE1310 Track Bar: RE1660 Shackle relocation bracket: Rough Country SKU# 1117 Shackles: Rough Country SKU# 1077 The control arm drop brackets were used, and I can't find a part number for the YJ front brake lines or Dodge Dakota rear line.
SWEET! Is it a 2000 or 2001? I have a grey 2000 on 31's three 3/4 inch lift. 3 inch lift spring and 3/4 inch spacer 4 inch springs in rear. I am going to go with 33inch tires.
@AdmiralOffRoad probably stock for now. I am also running a Spartan locker in the rear. I'll probably upgrade the entire axles eventually. Like when the 8.25 breaks an axles. Lol
Always enjoy your helpful and well put together videos. This one was great. I am about to put the very same Coopers on my 99 XJ. Maybe I missed it but have you or are you going to change gearing or axles? Would love a follow up on how your gearing works with the 35's. Thanks again!
Thanks, yes I have 4.88 gears. I'm keeping the Chrysler 8.25 and going to a D30 HP front. I'm super happy with the gearing. Its a little deeper than stock which helps get those heavy tires turning, but only runs a few hundred RPMs higher on the highway
You can take some black door trim that you get in a roll to clean up the cuts and make them not as sharp or I have seen people take some small hose and cut it then glue it on.
Mr1998jeepcherokee Also I've seen guys use that black foam tubing you put on pipes to protect from freezing in the winter. At first I thought it as a type of flare till I asked what brand they were. Floored me when he told me what they were. Looked like they belonged there
Thank u, finally a video that actually gets right to the point. Not some shit head going over a 40 min intro but his project, his wifes jeep and all his future plans. No one cares. Thanks for a good video
May I ask what tires size you use? Lift..and wheels? I want my 99 to be just for mud, snow, daily driver... No rock climbing for me. Just want the wheels to stick out a little more than the body.
At about 11:00 on the clock, I noticed wires hanging in the cut-out wheel well...what are they to and from, and, how did you secure them so as to not get ripped out either by the turning tire, or the trail ? Inquiring mind(s) want to know. ty. ~ 12 Block Tokie ~ Kingsport, Tennessee 37660
Why do you have to keep the spot welds on the rear fenders? I have seen a lot of other people just cut the rear fenders like they do the front fenders.
LIFE HACK: on the front flares, use door edging on the cut to make it dull and to clean up the look of it. Also get the added benefit of not having to paint it
Are you in a land of no rust, or are you just that committed to a great looking XJ? Perhaps both? My 9 year old and I are going to attempt this. Thanks for the video.
I have extended bump stops but i had some rubbing on the inner fender lip when I turned the wheel while fully flexed. I hammered it flat and have not had any other issues
a little bit when i have the wheel all the way turned and the suspension is all of the way flexed. but I also have extended the bump stops a bit to help fight it
I know this video is old, but I just noticed your front wheel is counter balanced. Wheel weights need to be in only one location. I highly recommend taking it somewhere (that actually knows what they're doing, and doesn't counter balance) and have them rebalance it.
I did meant that I was hoping I could save the money and just re mount the stock flares I’ll just have to order the aftermarket flares before I do this
11:3012:06 please always remember to put the tire under the axial when you lift the car , instead of you sit in it , for your safety . 20 years mechanic expert here .
The vids have been a life saver man, you do great work! Question: I'm about to run 33s on a 2001 xj daily driver...(they were a gift and I don't really off road due to scheduling.) What should I re-gear to? 4.56? I don't drive the jeep more than 10-15 miles on the weekdays.
The rear is a Chrysler 8.25 and the front is a High Pinion Dana 30. It came with a low pinion front. The high pinion dana 30 wasnt a huge upgrade but I was able to regear the high pinion dana 30 while I was still driving on the low pinion one and then just swap it in. It was my daily driver at the time so I couldn't afford to not be able to drive it while regearing. So to answer your question, the rear is the stock axle, just regeared to 4.88 and the front axle is out of a 99 XJ, again, regeared to 4.88
the rear needs to be rolled because of the inner and outer fender spot welds. The front fenders don't have this issue so they can just be cut which is much faster and easier.
Do you have issues with the 35s rubbing with the 4.5” lift when your off-road also do you think a stock Dana 35 can handle 35” tires with a Chrysler 8.25” in the rear. Thanks
I don't have rubbing issues, but I have also extended my bump stops quite a bit. As for the axles, I wouldn't worry about the chrysler 8.25. The dana 35 is a rear axle and I would not recommend running 35s on one. The Dana 30 which you have in front is probably close to the limit with 35s. There are some people who will say that they run 37s without issues and others will say that the dana 30 is only good to 33s. There are steps you can take to strengthen the axle to help it hold up, but if you plan on going bigger than 35 in tires, I would look for other options.
Thanks for your reply I actually meant to say the I’m running a dana 30 in the front sorry about that. I am planning on putting either super swamper tsl 33x12.5R15 or 35x12.5R15 still not sure which route to go with, what would you suggest? I’m getting some extended 2” daystar bump stops do you think I would need more bump stop than that on a 4.5” lift after trimming and cut and folding the rear quarters? Thanks
Admiral Off-Road thanks again for getting back to me I think I’ll run 33’s to try and prevent having to use hockey pucks and use the 2” daystar bumpstops in hopes that it won’t make contact with the trimmed fenders thanks for all the help
Admiral Off-Road nice I'm in AZ too man, Im building my '89 XJ sport two-door right now but unfortunately the previous owner did a terrible job cutting the fenders lol
I had that set up for a while and didn't have to trim with 31×10.50s on stock wheels. If you run wheels with different back spacing or wide enough tires, you might not be able to have them stay inside the fender and might have to trim a bit.
Admiral Off-Road how are the wheels holding on? could you do a review video about them? I'm interested on those wheels, I really like the look and your videos are very informative.
Thanks, the wheels and tires have given me no issues. Love the tires off road. They're a little loud on the street and wear quicker than A/Ts but that is to be expected with mud tires.
I have a lifted Rust free 04 Wrangler I put away for the winter Im looking to build a Cherokee for winter wheeling I have the same times on my TJ What i lift did you use and was there any other suspension parts you had to change to make the 35s work well
I have 4.5 in of lift that is made from a few different manufacturers parts. I have Rubicon Express coils and a combination of stock Xj and Chevy S10 leaf springs. In addition to new springs I needed a new track bar ( Rubicon Express), extended brake lines (Dodge Dakota rear, Jeep YJ front), longer shocks ( Rancho), extended bumpstops (I used hockey pucks), Leaf spring shackle relocation brackets (Rough country), longer shackles, and control arm drop brackets. These were necessary for the lift. I did not have to change anything suspension wise in order to make 35s work when I changed from 31s to 35s. I did, however re-gear the axles and am in the process of upgrading steering and going to long arms
Do you have the part numbers for any of this list and install video of any of them as well and last estimated cost for all the parts less the tires and wheels Thanks in advance
The parts will be different between the TJ and XJ . Unfortunately I did the lift before creating the channel so I don't have videos. I saved quite a bit by buying the drop brackets and track bar used and making a leaf spring pack out of used leaf springs instead of buying new. Going with another vehicle's stock brake lines is also sometimes cheaper than buying aftermarket extended brake lines for your vehicle.
Admiral Off-Road aw man that sucks, my dad put 35's on his 3 jeep Comanches and crushed in the backside of all the front fenders lol, needless to say he put the 33's back on
Johnny Banks that's a good idea, I bought my '89 XJ sport 2-door with the fenders already cut but they look like crap so I think bedliner would look good
have not broken anything, and it does rub a little bit at full lock with some flex, so ill have to trim a little bit more in the rear of the front tire opening
The front is Rubicon Express 4.5 in coils Rear is s10 leaf springs mixed with xj leafs and a longer shackle giving me about 4.5 in. I have everything trimmed and bump stopped so that it doesn't rub except for a bit at full lock when all the way flexed
Thanks for making this video amigo. I was nervous about cutting my fenders, and now I'm not. Great job.
Thanks!
Glad to see that you cut it the correct way without separating your body. I wish the previous owner of my jeep knew this!
You have great presentation on camera. Nice video, and nice XJ.
Thank you!
for people wanting to attempt their own cut and folds... going over the rears with a heatgun before hammering will help stop the paint from chipping
i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Elliott Troy instablaster :)
@Israel Christian i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now.

@Israel Christian it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Elliott Troy no problem :D
Love your work ethics...plain and simple And well explained. Thanks from me in northland New Zealand🇳🇿
thanks!
Hey bro. I'm from northland NZ as well. Have you got a jeep a d have you done this? Thinking of doing it on mine.
Very young and talented thank you for the video I’m about to do this for my sons 99 can
Really good video! I still can't get over how clean your jeep is.
Thanks! she's purty
He is In Arizona LOL better be clean
I put 33x12.50 on my XJ with the same fender trimming and 1.75" spacer and aal. I swapped some suspension and went to 3" lift and I can easily run 35s. May have some extra clearance since I'm using aftermarket control arms and the front axle is pushed forward almost an inch. Nice video!!!!

If you sand the paint away prior to bending the metal in your pie cuts on the rear fender, it won't crack.
Do the fender liners fit back in after? Waters gonna get caught between the body
One little tip is to turn the blade upside down in the sawzall to make it easier
Awesome job yung man. ..I'm very happy to see a yung man at work doing a great job!
Sorry for the confusion

Very informative, you did a great job, young man...
Thank you!
On my baby I put weather striping on to cover the sharp metal and I actually like how it looked. Nice jeep btw
i haven't put anything on the fender yet but I'm considering it.
Nice Jeep! Be sure to save your factory flares and all hardware, not because you'll use them, but they are hard to find and are worth $$$$$$.
Good work man. Quick & simply made video.
SWEET! Is it a 2000 or 2001? I have a grey 2000 on 31's three 3/4 inch lift. 3 inch lift spring and 3/4 inch spacer 4 inch springs in rear. I am going to go with 33inch tires.
Thanks! Mine is a 2000 as well. Are you planning on regearing or keeping the stock ratio?
@AdmiralOffRoad probably stock for now. I am also running a Spartan locker in the rear. I'll probably upgrade the entire axles eventually. Like when the 8.25 breaks an axles. Lol
Would you still have your original fender flares I would be interested in purchasing
Are going to regear ur jeep because of the large tires? How is the gas milage?
Always enjoy your helpful and well put together videos. This one was great. I am about to put the very same Coopers on my 99 XJ. Maybe I missed it but have you or are you going to change gearing or axles? Would love a follow up on how your gearing works with the 35's. Thanks again!

i may do that in the future. For now, I have them bedlined to take care of the flaking paint, especially in the rear
Mr1998jeepcherokee Also I've seen guys use that black foam tubing you put on pipes to protect from freezing in the winter. At first I thought it as a type of flare till I asked what brand they were. Floored me when he told me what they were. Looked like they belonged there
Are those stock axles and what wheels are those?
Simply clean. Looks great
Thanks!
That was a great video. Thank you for the effort. Greetings from Arizona. Also, did you change the rear differential ratio after changing tire size?
Hi Mike, thanks and greetings from mesa! I did regear to 4.88
got an asmr response when you started tapping those things back haha
Good video. The wheels are what you measure for which car? Vehicle brand
Thank u, finally a video that actually gets right to the point. Not some shit head going over a 40 min intro but his project, his wifes jeep and all his future plans. No one cares. Thanks for a good video
Who ruined your jeep searches? God that sounds horrible guy.
Nice very clean, going to be running 33s on a 3inch lift pretty soon
MUCKFOOT lifts are only to allow for bigger tires
@@MUCKFOOT399 Lifts are functional. The majority of people lift there vehicles to have more clearance and off roading capability. Not cosmetics
Ive been wondering how it would hold up if you just left the spot welds and cut the others out completely?
Did you keep a little lip on the rear by not cutting all the way up ??
yes the rear is cut and then folded because of the spot welds
May I ask what tires size you use? Lift..and wheels? I want my 99 to be just for mud, snow, daily driver... No rock climbing for me. Just want the wheels to stick out a little more than the body.
The tires are 35x12.50r15s, the wheels are 15x8 with 3.75in backspacing and it's on a 4.5 in lift
Just curious as to if there is any rubbing when your wheeling?
Man I'm jealous your rear quarters ain't rotten out...
The lack of rust on cars here in Arizona makes them much more fun to work on
Surely it’s easier if you remove the wheels? I wish it was legal to do this mod here in Australia :/
At about 11:00 on the clock, I noticed wires hanging in the cut-out wheel well...what are they to and from, and, how did you secure them so as to not get ripped out either by the turning tire, or the trail ? Inquiring mind(s) want to know. ty.

They were from the light bar. I just ran them up over the quarter panel support and secured it in another place to keep them from catching on things
Good job. Nice video. Cool jeep.
thanks!
Great video!! Gonna do that and add some Rusty's off-road fender flares.
is 20 igood for a 3 inch lift. or 2 inch lift. ?
Very good job. Looks great.
thanks!
Why do you have to keep the spot welds on the rear fenders? I have seen a lot of other people just cut the rear fenders like they do the front fenders.
Great video bro love the way that keep looks
thanks!
Nice rig man, keep it up!
Thanks!
Why do you bend the fender in the back?
What kind of front winch bumper is that please?
LIFE HACK: on the front flares, use door edging on the cut to make it dull and to clean up the look of it. Also get the added benefit of not having to paint it
Special Snowflake you should still paint it to prevent rust. Water can creep into anywhere
Are you able to put center caps on your tires
Are you in a land of no rust, or are you just that committed to a great looking XJ? Perhaps both? My 9 year old and I are going to attempt this. Thanks for the video.
Living in the Desert definitely helps with the lack of rust!
I wanna do the same for my wj. But no one post videos on how to trim for 33's lol.
Do they rub at all with that much trimming?
I have extended bump stops but i had some rubbing on the inner fender lip when I turned the wheel while fully flexed. I hammered it flat and have not had any other issues
a little bit when i have the wheel all the way turned and the suspension is all of the way flexed. but I also have extended the bump stops a bit to help fight it

I want to do this is there anyway that I can reinstall my fender flares after the cuts? Don’t mind drilling holes or something
I'm not sure, to be honest
Admiral Off-Road that’s cool I wanna do this but my wife wants me to get Napier fenders afterwards thanks for the video
Jeremy Dammerich I know they make aftermarket flares for cut fenders. I thought you meant reattaching the stock fender flares
I did meant that I was hoping I could save the money and just re mount the stock flares I’ll just have to order the aftermarket flares before I do this
Oh shit. Fellow az4x4club member. Sweet jeep dude.

So you didn’t have to use a lift kit?
The vids have been a life saver man, you do great work! Question: I'm about to run 33s on a 2001 xj daily driver...(they were a gift and I don't really off road due to scheduling.) What should I re-gear to? 4.56? I don't drive the jeep more than 10-15 miles on the weekdays.
yep, 4.56 should work well
Clean jeep, clean video👍🏻
Thanks!
What are you going to do with the fenders??
I sold them
Why did you have to cut around the spot welds?
hello how many inches did you lift the jeep?
and the covers are 35 or what are they?
did you upgrade the axels to fit the 35s or are you running dana stock?
The rear is a Chrysler 8.25 and the front is a High Pinion Dana 30. It came with a low pinion front. Can I do this to my ZJ?
I have a question those 35s are 12.50 inches wide do you have any problems with the tires rubbing on any turns.
No, With the 3.75 backspacing, i don't have any rubbing in turns
Did you have to regear for the 35s????
Admiral Off-Road but did you have to regear right away or can I drive it like that for some time
Aldo Silva just drive it with stock gears you'll only bad thing is the mpgs
does not affect this modification in the future?
Looks amazing man I plan on doing the same pretty soon. Just wondering, any rubbing with the new tires on the fender or bumper
Your Jeep looks good! Do youhave any rub with a 4.5 lift? Also do you run stock axles with 35s? If so do you have amy issues?
Yeah I have short arms and I rub like a mother. My stock axels do alright but I feel 1 tons would handle better
Complimenti !!! spiegazione molto chiara, lavoro che sicuramente farò prossimamente. Grazie.
Grazie! e buona fortuna
Nice cheap man! Just wondering what lift kit do you have on there.
Is it legal to run those tires without Fender flares
It depends on the state. I've never had issues in AZ with it
Why did u roll the back fender but cut the front ones off??
the rear needs to be rolled because of the inner and outer fender spot welds. The front fenders don't have this issue so they can just be cut which is much faster and easier.
Are you running any wheel spacers? What rims are you running?
Do you have issues with the 35s rubbing with the 4.5” lift when your off-road also do you think a stock Dana 35 can handle 35” tires with a Chrysler 8.25” in the rear. Thanks
I don't have rubbing issues, but I have also extended my bump stops quite a bit. As for the axles, I wouldn't worry about the chrysler 8.25. I ended up needing closer to 4 in of extended bump stops with the 35s. You can cut more and bump stop less, but I decided not to cut too much.
Admiral Off-Road thanks again for getting back to me I think I’ll run 33’s to try and prevent having to use hockey pucks and use the 2” daystar bumpstops in hopes that it won’t make contact with the trimmed fenders thanks for all the help
Could I put back the protective plastic?
Looks great! Where did you get your roof rack?
Thanks! the roof rack was a gift and I can't remember where they got it. Its a universal basket that attaches to the stock rack
Nice video! What front bumper is that?
Thanks! its the JCR Offroad DIY winch bumper
What's the reason for leaving the spot welds on the back ?
If you cut them off, you will have to re-weld the rear quarter panel and wheel well together
You really take good care of your Jeep. Looks nice. Are you gonna add some different flares ? Enjoy your content.
Thanks! I think, for now, I'm going to stay flareless. I kind of like the look of the tires sticking out a bit and its legal here in AZ to do that.

I did have some rubbing on the stock control arms with this set up when fully turning the wheel though

Finally! A new video!
more will be coming in the following weeks
Admiral Off-Road Awesome!
Nice palace behind your last shot, lol. Not your typical xj owners house. No disrespect, just surprised.
I just got my first jeep 1990 cherokee all white
Sweet!
Great video!!! Think I'll do this.
Great video!! Definitely gives the ole XJ a meaner look. Have you noticed any rubbing? Either from flexin or turning?
there is just a little bit when i flex it with the tire turned that i will have to take care of.
Admiral Off-Road aw man that sucks, my dad put 35's on his 3 jeep Comanches and crushed in the backside of all the front fenders lol, needless to say he put the 33's back on
its not too bad. just a tiny bit more trimming on the back side should take care of it
What’s your front bar bro??
That looks sick with 35s
thanks!
Have you fully flex to bump stop? Looking to do the same on my 89 XJ to fit 35s on my 4.5 but I don't run sway bars when I'm rock crawling
I have. I had to trim a little more on the back side of the front fender. I also have some extended bump stops because of my longer shocks.
Admiral Off-Road what are your shock length?
I have it written down. Ill check and get back to you.
Stock axles?? Any issues with them
None so far. I did put in a HP Dana 30 when I re geared but that's not a huge jump in strength over the lp
This is great 👍🏽 great job man do you have a 3 inch lift with the big boys 35s

Still need to do the rears. You have any plans for your edges?

I'm running 33's right now on 4.5 lift with the fenders trimmed. How do you like the 35's on trails? Are you rubbing? Broken any axles?
have not broken anything, and it does rub a little bit at full lock with some flex, so ill have to trim a little bit more in the rear of the front tire opening
Are those 35x12.5?
What type of lift do you have?
What brand lift do u have, and how bad is the rubbing?
The front is Rubicon Express 4.5 in coils
Rear is s10 leaf springs mixed with xj leafs and a longer shackle giving me about 4.5 in. I have everything trimmed and bump stopped so that it doesn't rub except for a bit at full lock when all the way flexed
@@AdmiralOffRoad do you rub when turning?? How wide those tires
They are 12.50 wide the wheels are 8in wide with 3.75 in backspacing. I rubbed on stock control arms but not with Rancho lower control arms.
