The laugh track edit did an amazing job showcasing your point. Absolutely cartoonish/sitcom-like episode... Still love it though, it's still the Office.
You skipped the part where Jim is upset that Pam liked him and he didn't call HER back. "You know I have a kid with you, right?" Her best line of the season.
Kailing is a very talented writer, but I'm here wondering what would happen to a man if he said he likes to cast hot actresses, so he can make out with them.
I think that the cold opening is related to the episode. Michael says that he once knew how to ride a bike and now he isn't able to ride it. In the episode Michael losses the sale to Danny even though Michael himself was a great salesman once.
Also, Creed would be the last first to choose in a situation like this. Meredith is only a wild card when she is drunk so she makes a better choice than Ryan or Kevin.
To remember who timothy Olyphant is- I highly recommend watching Santa Clarita Diet starring him and Drew Barrymore on netflix! Great little show (that got canceled too early but 😭 still fun to watch)
Do you not do office trivia anymore? If not you need to bring them back, they were always way to difficult but that just made it 10X better when you actually know the odd one out
The earlier bit with the two Chrises... Nope, Ryan George and Julie Nolke have that territory covered. Nobody's ever going to top those two. Don't even try. 😉 The keeping coming back to Kelly's "[bleep] me!"... very Arrested Development-y. Loved that!
How dare you mistake Mr. Olyphant for Duhamel. He was in Die Hard, Hitman, played the fantastic Deputy Marshall Rayland Givens and he's on some dumb Netflix show. Josh Duhamel was married to Fergie but was on NBC's Las Vegas
Rare disagree here for me. Yeah its a little silly (maybe a lot silly) but it makes me smile and its fairly memorable. It was also at a time where I was pretty hopeful that Andy's character arch was going in a good direction.
I've never quite understood the closeness between Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak. Novak actually looks at things from conflicting perspectives and can grant dignity to both and tell a complex thoughtful story. (See Vengeance for proof) Kaling on the other hand has the trash heap that is Velma which was incredibly shallow and widely panned. Her actions as you mentioned with her casting attractive men just so she can make out with them (see the late night interview she did expressly saying this) is wildly inappropriate and would not be tolerated if she were a man.
So stupid. Michael himself points out that there's no room for a second salesman on the road. What happened, did he fire this guy ten minutes after hiring him? To my recollection, we never see him after the tiny lil arc here.
You know, while I would not argue this was as smart a move as the negotiation or the client, this is still one of the smartest business decisions Michael has made, especially in the later seasons. Hiring a competitors top salesman when you realize you can not beat him took humility and skill, which are two skills Michael rarely shows.
Andy isn't a replacement for Michael. seasons 8 and 9 are still amazing honestly.i just view them as different shows. I love your critiques and watch them as they come out with eagerness, but I hate the trope that Michael was the only thing that made this show great. might've not watched it without him at the forefront, but lets not forget he was unbearable in season 1. and we still watched. just my two cents.
As for mixing actors up, I always mix up James Remar and Adam Baldwin...and that's only because they both remind me of a watered-down version of Bill Paxton haha

The office is a sitcom
You skipped the part where Jim is upset that Pam liked him and he didn't call HER back. "You know I have a kid with you, right?" Her best line of the season.
That’s the next episode, “Costume Contest” where Pam dresses up as Olive from Popeye
Timothy Olyphant was great in Santa Clarita Diet. He’s a versatile actor
Kailing is a very talented writer, but I'm here wondering what would happen to a man if he said he likes to cast hot actresses, so he can make out with them.
That guy from succession is his brother so that one is for a reason lol 😂
Not sure if you're aware, but Keira Knightley played padme's decoy in phantom menace, unless that was part of the joke
The jokes on the episode are still great and I think that this is being one of the best episodes on s7 through this rewatch
I think that the cold opening is related to the episode. Michael says that he once knew how to ride a bike and now he isn't able to ride it. In the episode Michael losses the sale to Danny even though Michael himself was a great salesman once.
This episode has one of my favorite Darryl moments where he takes a pay decrease to play in Andy's band. Love all the scenes of them playing together.
That guy is also a Culkin lol
Thank you for showing that video with your daughter! Very touching and sweet
Man I hate being on work trips I don't get watch these as soon as it uploads. Thanks for the fantastic work!!
Nice home video. Reminds of Ted's when Lily is in labor in HIMYM. "A man...a woman...AND THEIR BEST FRIEND."
Finally another field guide, I love these videos but hate waiting for them. Great work Mulverine👍🏽
that video you made was really special. Warms my heart
I can tell I'm PMSy because the video of your daughter riding her bike made me tear up...
I was worried that you weren't going to mention Scream 2 (aka where olyphant is most relevant to me)
Also, Creed would be the last first to choose in a situation like this. Meredith is only a wild card when she is drunk so she makes a better choice than Ryan or Kevin.
Why is Michael’s desk empty in this episode??
To remember who timothy Olyphant is- I highly recommend watching Santa Clarita Diet starring him and Drew Barrymore on netflix! Great little show (that got canceled too early but 😭 still fun to watch)
Timothy Olyphant, not to be confused with Timothy Elephant.
Timothy Oliphant is from justified,
Holy crap, I totally forgot Cobb Vanth from The Mandalorian was in The Office.
Written by Mindy Kaling.
That's enough said.
She got her wish to make out with him in her own show
Good God, The Office with a laugh track feels so wrong.
Do you not do office trivia anymore? If not you need to bring them back, they were always way to difficult but that just made it 10X better when you actually know the odd one out
Yes I loved the trivia
I love Andy becoming the "New Michael". I think it gave the series a new life for a bit.
That home video got me in the soft spot... good review. I.always felt that Oliphant was wasted on this show
I feel less bad about never watching mindy kalings show now
Cool video with your daughter! I know it makes no difference what I like, but beardless Chris was cuter!
Finally! 2/5 rating be damned I quote this episode all the time
it's always werid watching Scream 2 now cause I just seeing Danny.....being Micky.
The earlier bit with the two Chrises... Nope, Ryan George and Julie Nolke have that territory covered. Nobody's ever going to top those two. Don't even try. 😉

Timothy Olyphant is in the Vanderbilt Family
How dare you mistake Mr. Olyphant for Duhamel. He was in Die Hard, Hitman, played the fantastic Deputy Marshall Rayland Givens and he's on some dumb Netflix show. Josh Duhamel was married to Fergie but was on NBC's Las Vegas
Yes! After Justified and Raylan, there is no mistaking Mr. Oliphant for anyone!
No mention of Professional Wrestling star Sting? I'm disappointed 😂
Rare disagree here for me. Yeah its a little silly (maybe a lot silly) but it makes me smile and its fairly memorable. It was also at a time where I was pretty hopeful that Andy's character arch was going in a good direction.
You threw away perfectly good training wheels?
Technically, she did….
According to all know laws of aviation
Yeah....but you can do that to a lot of episodes...

That whole bit with the laugh track is almost as cringey as the episode itself, well done!
And then the duet, amazing!
So stupid. Michael himself points out that there's no room for a second salesman on the road. What happened, did he fire this guy ten minutes after hiring him? To my recollection, we never see him after the tiny lil arc here.
Did he say that Bee Movie was good?
Where is the next episode papi
Transformers came out 2007

Yes, indeed, Michael rarely displays the skill of... skill...
@@thareelhelloagain Honestly, I did not notice I did that, but given this is a comment about Michael Scott, it is fitting so I will leave it there.
@@henrypeters5291 Definitely has the feel of a classic Scott Thought.
I have that same shirt💙
Yay, jim and pam just herassed an innocent guy, because of their insecurity, but who cares, as long they get to have their happy moment right?
Kinda gross and abusing your power to cast hot actors just for that so hopefully that’s just taken out of context
I mean it sounds like it was a joke
@@elanzankman4399 I'm sure it was but it's a weird thing to joke about

Go watch Go.
