    Do keep in mind that this is a hypercomplicated version of something that can be done simply. I wanted to push the limits! This is also not exactly as Miss Lilianae's version, which can be broken down if you're interested. The job change menu I use is found here: ua-cam.com/video/X3tgSHTUkr8/v-deo.html
    Hey, send me a screenshot of your job change system if you'd like! Eorzeon@gmail.com

    I do something similar with collapsible hotbars without swapping HUD's. For example if i want to swap to a Warrior i have a macro on my hotbar with a tank icon and the command "/hotbar display 8" which opens up a hidden hotbar with all the tank jobs. I then click the warrior one, which is a macro that says "/gearset change 7" and "/hotbar display 8" which swaps to Warrior and automatically closes down the tank job hotbar. Between all the jobs it uses a total of 5 hotbars.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  3 дні тому

      That sounds like my simpler version (ua-cam.com/video/X3tgSHTUkr8/v-deo.html). This is the one I actually use.

  • @LalaOfLight
    @LalaOfLight 3 дні тому +2

    The copy to shared is a nice idea. I used to do something similar when I first started, but as I progressed I started needing the hotbar space, and more importantly, macro slots for more game play related stuff like call outs, emotes and such. Nowadays I just keybind the gear set menu and use that.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  3 дні тому

      Woah, I've been doing this for ages, with menu commands, abilities, and more, and have only used half my slots. What kind of macros are using so many slots?

    • @LalaOfLight
      @LalaOfLight 3 дні тому

      @@Eorzeon I use both KB+M for serious stuff and controller for laid back play, and to make it easier to fit everything on just 1 XHB+WXHB set (hate the page swapping), I do command stacking macros. Plus raid call outs, hunt relay macros, RP emote macros, crafting macros, and basic things that should've been keybinds (sprint, mount, auto attack, level sync to FATE, etc) there is just not enough room to fit in everything I want.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  3 дні тому +2

      Dang homie you certainly have a set! I dig the optimiztion, and would rather not page swap, myself. At a glance, there's only one slot I can save you: "General Duty Key" keybind will sync your level during FATEs. It doesn't do anything else that I can find, so it really should have been named "Level Sync."

  • @lanah_tyra
    @lanah_tyra 4 дні тому +2

    That is madness indeed! I think I prefer your system as well, I often change jobs between Fates or when crafting something. But I might hide some less-used stuff on another hud layout. And I definitely need to start making use of the crafter and gatherer additional hotbars, lot easier to unlock them on each of my characters than a combat job, and they can just sit there for hotbar use :D

    • @MissLilianae
      @MissLilianae 4 дні тому +2

      He touched on it near the end, but this system can be used to change jobs quickly and very easily even without all the extra add-ons.
      Eorzeon shows in the video you can set up "Switch to HUD layout 2" as the C key. I have mine linked to Mouse Button 4 (I have Forward/Back Page buttons on the side of my mouse, but it can be any key really). This opens up the selector. I click which job I want, and then each macro is coded to switch back to Hudlayout 1 in addition to switching the job.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  4 дні тому +1

      True, and Lilianae is definitely the expert on how to work the system quickly (this one is very much an exploratory "all the options in your face" idea). If you're curious about Lilianae's method specifically, we can do that!
      Also, @MissLilianae, how do you handle the times when you're not allowed to switch classes (just after combat, for example) if the macros automatically close the menu? That was my biggest reason for leaving both menus open, because I'd have to reopen them multiple times.

    • @MissLilianae
      @MissLilianae 4 дні тому +2

      @ In situations like that I just do the whole process again.
      Since it's all on my mouse I never really have an issue to just Mouse4, Mouse1 the job I want over and over again until it finally goes through.
      Though I suppose you could have it set-up so the macros DON'T take you back and then you have to click the role icons or a "close menu" button like you had.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  4 дні тому

      Yeah pros and cons. When you have one in a corner, it's probably preferable to have it remain open. When it's in the middle (and affecting the HUD), maybe it's better to let it close. I'm sure you've gotten somewhat accustomed to the timing.

  • @HUSK3RGAM3R

    I think I do something simpler with my hotbars, they're essentially collapsible hot bars that uses 9 and 10 as a base, and 4 through 8 as where I put all the macros. Just drag the gear icons from the gear list (which changes your job in one click, not using any macro space) to the base class job bar you will copy from in macros. I lay 10 down in the bottom right corner as a 12x1 (horizontal), then put 9 above the rightmost cell as a 1x12 (vertical). That rightmost cell toggles the visibility of 9 and all other shared bars. And on 9 there are macros for the DPS, support, and crafter gatherer. Clicking any toggles one of the bars visibility and you select the job you want.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  3 дні тому

      That's very similar to my other, simpler Job Change Menu video (ua-cam.com/video/X3tgSHTUkr8/v-deo.html) and is definitely simpler. I wanted to see just how crazy we can go.

  • @vastayanvixen685
    @vastayanvixen685 3 дні тому +1

    My layout is very similar instead of swapping HUD layouts, I hide hotbars 1-4, 9, and 10 +HUD elements and show 5-8 (5-8 are shared with job changes) 9 is menu bar and 10 is cycling custom menu that uses the non-jobstone classes as data holders for hotbar 10. When I select a job it hides 5-8 and shows everything that was previously hidden. That was I can do it on any job I’m currently on.
    Because of how it works with hotbars and HUD elements, can you do this to “force” open/close those windows?

    /gearset off

    I have a similar system as you. With opening a menu, selecting the role, and then getting all the jobs of that role. I use the conjurer /Gladiator/arcanist hotbars as a sort of save space for the hotbars that are being copied over.
    Only issue is that I had to move the melee dps to the tank section because I was running out of space in the dps section.

      if you know how to make a cycling hotbar, you can do that instead so you can keep it tidy, I have it cycling between melee page 1/2 and DoH page 1/2 because they are on the same row in my setup.

      There was a time when I had all the jobs on 3 bars just lined down the side of my screen. I will say that the cycle button is an interesting way to reduce bar usage that I never thought of back then. Always keep playing with the HUD, you never know what you'll end up loving!

    I don't know how it never occurred to me that shared bars can be used as data place holders even when they are disabled. Super cool tricks here, especially when you apply it to controller players limited button sets.
    Is there any browser for micon options?

      WOAH brand new and got this sytem working almost perfectly on your first go? I think we have a HUD prodigy on our hands. It SOUNDS like what's happening is you're putting Miner abilities on your shared hotbar instead of unshared. Make sure the checkboxes are OFF when you are Miner. You can also send screenshots to Eorzeon@gmail.com and I'll try to troubleshoot.
      HOWEVER, this is pretty complicated, so I wouldn't blame you at all if you wanted to go with a simpler version (I use this!): ua-cam.com/video/X3tgSHTUkr8/v-deo.html

    Couldn't you also do the back up step by uploading your settings to the server in the character select menu to avoid futzing about with files? At the very least that's the way you'd have to do so if you're on console.

    • @Eorzeon
      @Eorzeon  3 дні тому

      Yes, you can, WITH points to consider. Note for PC to console or vice versa, it's the only way. As for why you might not want to:
      1) I've actually experienced losing the data completely after trusting the backup process. No idea how, but it was real fun to put everything back together.
      2) You can't use in-game backup as a Free Trial player.
      3) If you have more than one character, you can't use in-game backup to transfer between characters. Local backup allows you to clone HUD/hotbars/macros to other characters.
