It never felt forced either. The writers did a good job on making it feel natural IMO.

@@DNReacts But the whole point of him leaving Man City to do the reality show was about him pissing off his dad and not about the money. But ultimately just an excuse to get him back to Richmond.

One small detail i noticed. For Jamie to come back he would have to sign a contract. The owner/management would have known and it should have been a bigger deal. They played it as if he came back out of nowhere.
That's a good point. The acting was subtle. Higgins and Rebecca (and even Keeley) looked like they were curious spectators to watch how it would unfold not specifically shocked that Jamie was there at all. I couldn't exactly tell from the players whether they knew either. They looked like they were dreading it but not shocked and pissed off.
-Roy the commentator was terrific. He cut through all the crap. I wish actual sport commentators on both sides of the Atlantic could do that more often.
-Ted is all about second chances. He builds loyalty with it.
