It's funny, I keep watching these and find myself going "Oh is this the episode where X happens! that's one of the best moments of the show", because there's just a moment like that in nearly EVERY episode.
@@DNReacts Regarding a pundit having too much energy; can't have that amount & be Bri'ish. And you two wouldn't be sh!t at it either😁. Sorry, still recovering from Jürgen's last hurrah.
Sam's personality is based on actor/comedian Sam Richardson (who actually eventually makes an appearance on the show), but yeah, the activism they introduced as part of his character in this episode is inspired by a few people but, from what I've read, Marcus Rashford is the biggest one.
Theodore is the masculine version of the name Dorothy, and there are loads of "Wizard of Oz" references throughout the series. One could even think of Roy, Jaime and Nate as the Tin man, Scarecrow and Cowardly lion, respectively.
As a US footy fan who loves this show..things like Sam taking down Jamie on the training ground is one of the "Easter Eggs" Brendan Hunt (he fell in love with the game while living in Amsterdam, IIRC) put into a script for us. Watching this episode back when it was new, it was another occasion where I was watching with my non-football friends. They stopped playback because I was laughing so hard, and then had to explain why. I hope I've done my best to increase the popularity of the game over here!
Its possible Ted was a take on Ned, but keep in mind that decision would have been from LONG before this show. The original TV commercial for Premier League Football broadcasts in the US, starring a very early and sillier version of Ted Lasso, aired in 2013.
I think "rightest" is a word but I don't think it's much used today as correct grammar, but they are actually referencing the movie "Do the Right Thing" by Spike Lee.
You mentioned promotion. I'm pretty sure they started the season with 7 draws and a loss so 7 points in 8 games. Championship plays 46 games so the 38 remaining games mean they have a possible 114 points left. Traditionally, it takes something like 70-75 points to get into the playoff, 90 points to get automatic promotion. So 90-7 = 83 points in 38 games to guarantee promotion and 75-7 = 68 for playoffs. So 27 wins, 2 draws, 9 losses get them to 90 points and promotion. 22 wins, 2 draws, 14 losses get them in good position to be in the playoffs. Not easy but doable for a middle-of-the-table talent level Premier League team playing in Championship.
Search for the actual guy ( young Jason Sudeikis actual high school basketball coach ). There is an interview with him and while not the TL looks his outlook and mannerisms are quite close.
Thanks for doing the video but it's a bit unwatchable how it keeps panning full-screen to you both whenever you make a sound. Keep the small window up and show your reactions within the small window only.

There really is! It just doesn’t disappoint!
Literally!!
"do you think they based him on Ned?"
I wondered that too at first. Ted is loosely based on a basketball coach Jason Sudeikis had in high school.
i look forward to this series every week
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
Even at his worst, you can't help but have a soft spot for Jamie. Love seeing him back at Richmond, starting a new chapter. Onward, forward.
Completely agree with this!
No spoiler but Jamie from season One to season 3 ❤️
@fayesouthall6604 it’s cool, we are half way through season 3 on Patreon! 😀
Yaay! Your Ted Lasso reaction uploads are the best part of my Mondays.
That’s amazing to hear! Thank you 😀
"Well, you can, but not naturally." Brilliant! You blokes could be writers yourselves!
What’s the context behind this? 😂 I can’t remember!

Thanks for the info! Being inspired by Rashford makes sense!
A stash is where you store things, a stache is a mustache
I’m reading Fire Weather by John Vailant. Love that his episode took on a much needed issue that needs to be addressed. Well done Ted Lasso producers.
Led Tasso, you know Jason had great fun doing that.😊
He definitely would have done 😂

As an American, I love watching this show with you. Where else would I learn stash vs tash?
We are tackling the important topics over here 😂
Yo from Chicago!!! Loving the reactions, loving that Cubs hoodie!!!
Love your reactions! Subscribed today. Looking forward to more! Cheers from Seattle, USA.
Appreciate it so much 🙏🏼 thank you!
This is the first time I noticed Trent's lanyard and Ted's microphone - both red. Each are symbols of their "voice".

Such a great show❤
One of the best episodes

Roy on TV is the best.
He really is 😂

Just wait for Rani Dojas.
If this is true, I can’t wait!! 😂
Rani Dojas! Yes. He is the best! Lol.
Brilliant!

The next episode is the best! Christmas!
Great episode!!

Thanks for the feedback, but us going full screen makes it easier to get past copyright blocks, so we will keep doing that 😊
