As someone who has zero interest in sport, I was sure I wouldn’t like Ted Lasso, so I didn’t even consider watching it. People kept recommending it to me, but I resisted. Finally, during the second season, a friend who was very enthusiastically trying to convince me to watch said, “Even if you don’t like sport, you will like Ted Lasso.” I asked him, “Isn’t it about football?” He answered, “On the surface, yes, but not really. At least watch a few episodes. Trust me.” I decided to watch the first two episodes and ended up binge-watching the whole first season. I fell absolutely head-over-hills in love with the show - the story, the writing, the characters, the cast, the acting - it’s all a perfect blend of ingredients that combine to make one of my favourite shows of all time.

Huge football fan here so I was sure I would like that aspect of the show. Knowing it was a comedy however 8 thought all of the jokes would just be about how stupid Americans are and as an American I just thought that would get boring. But then the show not only had some great lessons for coaches but great lessons and storylines overall. It’s truly incredible.

To be honest I just discovered ted lasso about three weeks ago and boy did I love it,I’m not a fan of football and the only matches I watch really is the World Cup when England play, having said that I really got into this series after the first episode.
For me even though it was a comedy they had real heart wrenching moments and I’m not ashamed to admit it but I was either laughing or crying when watching this.
One moment I found really funny was when Roy was being taught how to ride a push bike, just that whole scene was funny.i just loved how you got a real sense of them being a part of a team and a family that supported each other.

Is it laced with gorgeous scenes, action, mystery, violence, sex, or adventure? No. Will it make you happy, even rethink your viewpoints on life and fall in love with its characters? Yes. And that’s a win more than any expensive CGI laced major budget HBO show can buy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@Sarafara7 Breaking Bad does start slow, but the cold open plus the end of the episode really hooked me in. Queen's Gambit was a slow starter for me. It wasn't till episode two that I really got hooked in. Highly recommend watching the pilots of Mad Men and Ms. Maisel. One thing you can say about both shows, if you don't like the pilot, you won't like the show.
That's something I really appreciate about a master-crafted pilot. You don't have to worry if you're missing out. I actually bounced off Ted Lasso episode 1 the first time. It did a lot of set-up, but the show doesn't really get going till episode 3. I actually think Trent Crimm makes a perfect audience surrogate. The show won me over by having Ted win Trent over. Watch the show then! It’s lovely! He finishes it later in the show when they make up (the two other coaches were avoiding him cause he was refusing to take their advice on something that must be done but he didn’t want to hurt a players feelings)

Best part of the scene with Roy submerging himself in the ice bath... Dani Rojas on the treadmill singing the Ted Lasso opening theme song in Spanish.

Don’t even understand irl football but I loved the show 10/10 recommend- it is rare to find such a feel good/positive show like this made nowadays. It’s all about turmoil and the burdens we care nowadays- but this show not only addresses it but make you feel like you can take on your own in life all at once!
