First off for new viewers Gemma is a CERTIFIED AESTHETICIAN she knows exactly she is speaking about , second I appreciate so very much that you are using very affordable products not a slew of over priced high end Brands . The average person is not going to be able to afford a 1000.00 dollar plus a.m routine then a 1000.00 dollar plus nighttime routine that you will see most all of the other channels use , this right here proves that cost doesn’t always mean better with most of those expensive products you are paying for packaging looking pretty and the name of the Brand . When looking for good quality products look at the ingredients list and you will be shocked to see that that 150.00 dollar cream has the exact same ingredients as the 20.00 dollar or less one but the only difference being is the fancy outer packaging, do not let these Brands fool you always check ingredients.
What seems like a long time now what with this pandemic I must be getting soft in the brain but I’m gonna say this anyway. Your videos are such a cheerful upbeat production. This is something just for me, it’s a private indulgence (like a chocolate bar). I think you may not know but you make such a positive impact on the quality of a day. Your interested in quality care for your viewers with beautiful results . When I apply my makeup these days I am startled every blessed time. I could go without makeup but I love my “paint box”. Here’s where I sound like a loon - one day this epidemic is going away and like everyone else I’ll look back on it and the memories it created, good and not so good ones. For me, Pampered Wolf will be a loved highlight. I don’t think I can ever forget you. You’ve done wonders. At first it was all of the success I’ve had with the skin results. Now it’s also become, the pampering, giggles, and your generous personality. Omg, I think I love you. Ohhh, that’s not like me at all. Thank you Gemma. You have helped at such a worrisome dismal, confusing time.
Me too Gemma, yours is my favourite UA-cam channel. So much great info for those that have lived a few more years than the sparkly young things. Love you and your Mum 💕💕💕
Oh Donna you've just made me cry. That's so nice of you to say, and I think I needed that. I'd just like to say in response that I feel exactly the same. The Wolf Pack has got me through some gloomy times during lockdown. You're all my shining light....my friends....my escape. I love you all xxx
How lovely of you, Donna. You’re not a loon, you’re just generously sharing with Gemma what so many of us feel about her videos. There should be more Donnas in the world, willing to reach out so positively like you have. 🙂
Me too Gemma, I look forward to your videos every week....It is like having a chocolate bar! Since this quarantine I spend most of my time on You Tube and Zoom. You have opened my eyes to skincare and correct application of makeup. Thank you so much for all of your knowledge and humor:)
You’re an absolute life saver Gemma, I’ve suffered with hyperpigmentation since my 30’s I’m now 61. This routine sounds so easy and affordable. I’ll be starting today, thank you so much. 🌷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I really appreciate that you listened to feedback and delivered a step by step routine us mere mortals can follow. Great work. Keep it up I love learning new things from you.
Because I watch ALL of your videos, my routine is perfect 🥰😊💃!!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Gemma❣️ Greetings to your family! Love, hugs and kisses 😘
I had several large melasma spots on my face five years ago. Consistent use of an AHA serum, the AHA/BHAmask, otc retinoids/retinols, niacinamide, and SUNSCREEN cleared these up, but it took quite some time. If I forget to wear sunscreen and go out in the sun, I will start to get brown spots in one day. I went for a covid test last week and forgot my sunscreen. Just being in the car for several hours (the sun was very bright and hot) I now have a few brown spots! (I tested negative, just have a summer flu😥.) My azelaic acid order literally came today, so I will be using this technique tonight. THANKS GEMMA!!!
I have a few sunscreen laying around such as in my bag I carry with me everywhere, one in my car and one at work. So it don't forget... I have pull over in the car just to apply my sunscreen as I am not playing with the hyperpigmentation problems as I was want to have a clean skin for 2021 (goals).
thank you for making this video so helpful and concise! I've just started tretinoin + hydroquinone from Dermatica - SO excited to begin to see some results in the next few months!
Thank you for following your last video up with this one. I have a much clearer idea of what to buy now. I nearly bought the Ultrasun SPF but glad I didn’t, I will use my current SPF and purchase the other products you recommended. A big thank you for another very informative and helpful video, I’m so,pleased I discovered your Chanel last year, you’re the best!!! 💕
Hay....I was waiting for this and I can’t believe I’m the first one commenting! Thank you, this so helpful. As I live in Greece and the sun is all over the place at this time of the year, even thought I’m wearing lots of sunscreen, it’s very difficult to avoid a suntan and of course some hyperpigmentation 👍❤️
I had really bad melasma for 3 years- it came abruptly on a vacation in Thailand from 1 minute to the next literally- I went to the bathroom to wask my hands and when I looked up in the mirror, I thought I had something smeared on my face, so I started rubbing it off... it was melasma that wasn't there an hour before. I was using 50+ suncreen religiously, but it came anyway :-/ Melasma is a really really stubborn condition and I think it has more to do with internal issues than external, though that is what brings it out. Now that it is gone (BBL+Halo laser followed by hydroquinone+tretinoin treatment), it is still something that I battle with on a daily basis: it was sooo bad and so frustating that I am always terrified that it comes back so I am always looking for these kinds of videos to inform me. Thank You, this was great info. PS: without hydroquinone, do not expect a full-blown recovery :-(
Thank you for this Agnes, it's really helpful. You are so right that Melasma is more difficult to tackle than most things. Unfortunately even when melasma isn't visible, it's not because it's not there. It will be lying dormant waiting to strike again as soon as you forget to apply your spf. I'm so glad you are managing your melasma well xxx
Gemma, you are AMAZING! I found you about a week ago and I’ve basically spent every second of my free time watching your videos, you are such a guru. Thank you for all your advice! X
Thank you so much for the question I asked last time and thank you again for today’s information. You have been very thorough. I really appreciate it. I think in you are wonderful. May you please take care and stay safe.
I also use an azelaic acid & niacinamide combo in my daily routine - I have exactly the same issue but I suspect it's the niacinamide causing the pilling, specifically the Ordinary one - as I've had the same prodlem. If you switch to the Inkey List niacinamide (much more cushiony & hydrating feeling than The Ordinary's ) and azelaic acid from Garden of Wisdom (at Victoria Health - a lovely fluid lotion texture) they apply beautifully with no pilling whatsoever, cocktailed or in individual layers x
"Let's dive right in (uses swimming diving hands)"... "What is this? (uses swimming diving hands)". This is a perfect example of why you are one of my favorites to watch. You do you and you don't edit it out! You're joyful and you enjoy what you do! Thank you!
Azelaic Acid from Garden of Wisdom doesn’t pill. Seriously you have to try it! I’ve tried all the others too! Layers so well after my serum MAYSAMA Green Rooibos Pressed Serum, then The Inkey List Polyglutamic acid, Stratia Liquid Gold and SPF 😁😁😁
Wonderful video Gemma. Thank you. I am dealing with sun spots on my arms and legs too. I would love to see a video on products for this and also laser or other professional treatments.
I feel that one thing your routine is lacking is a good exfoliant. I alternate between The Ordinary 10% Lactic Acid and The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Toner. My whole skincare regimen is designed to battle hyperpigmentation from 50 years of sun bathing and I think the exfoliant is a big part of that regimen. Other ingredients that I use that weren't included in your routine are tranexamic acid and kojic acid, both of which I get in Dearskin Tranex and has a nice ingredient deck and is a lovely serum. And I also use Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate because I ran across research indicating it might be the best form of Vitamin C to work on hyperpigmentation. You are very correct when you state there isn't a quick fix. It is a very slow process, but I am now seeing results that I am quite happy with. After all, I didn't get this sun damage overnight so I don't expect to have it gone overnight.
Since watching this video I’ve tried a few you’ve recommended and I’m so happy with the products 👌🏼❤️ I love the cereve, and just to let u know they have a £4 off voucher through amazon so I got a really good deal 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Thanks again for all of your amazing tips
Very learn video,i do not think it is for me.Aldo i have some products i see.you are the best and help full. Here you have some things that are help full. Thanks so much.🥰💯
I'm new to your videos and love all of your advice. I too suffer from hyperpigmentation. Would microneedling help the skin absorb the ingredients better or aggravate it?
Your vids are fantastic, can I ask which of the ordinary retinol s would you recommend as monies won’t stretch to the product you use ☹️.Is it just a case of starting off on the lower percent ones and working up to 2% as skin allows.😃😃
These are relatively inexpensive OTC products you can use (along with sunscreen) according to Prevention magazine: Hydroquinone Tranexamic acid Glycolic acid Kojic acid Licorice root extract Niacinamide Vitamin C
Gemma: thank you for the video and all your efforts at educating us! So, I've been using all these actives for a couple of years, and my discoloration is still hanging on! and, yes, I'm diligent on using sunscreen. How long does it take for stubborn hyperpigmentation to fade? I've even tried two sessions of lazer treatment and the discoloration just comes back! I'm almost 59, if that tells you anything (in other words, no hormone fluctuations!) Thank you.
Do you still recommend the Buffet serum, I use it in my night routine? I use Vitamin C and pycnogenol in the morning. Thanks Gemma, it’s interesting to see how your routines have evolved over time to target other needs.
I’m starting this routine tonight and am excited to see the results - hoping to fade some spots. I do have two questions: are you still not using an eye cream? (I saw another video where you talked about not using eye cream any more.) Do you use a neck cream? I feel like my neck is loosing firmness and is aging me. Thank you!
Ok! Watched these again after your recommendation..I am enjoying DMAE.. where would I put that in this regimen? Day or night? Would any moisturizer work? I have the Bare Haven from BareMinerals. Thanks so much for your help!!!
Thanks Gemma, straight to the point and so helpful. I have dehydrated skin, can I slot in a hyaluronic acid serum, maybe after the niacinamide? I’ve used the alpha arbutin (GOW) for a couple of months and I do feel it’s helping my pigmentation patches to fade. With your busy life I don’t know how you keep up the positive energy but it’s hugely appreciated - THANK YOU!!
Thank you Helen. If you're having good results from the Alpha Arbutin then stick with it. Alpha Arbutin doesn't suit everyone which is why I didn't include it, but its a great ingredient and you'll get great results. Yes you can add a Hyaluronic Acid xxx
I’m so glad I’ve discovered you! You are a Gem Gemma 💖. I’ve had pigmentation a while now (I’m 46 and getting married in a year). Obviously I’d like to get my skin the best it can be for the big day. I’ve purchased all the products buy started with the ordinary retinoid as it’s my first time using one. On a evening would I use this in its own first, wait then use the moisturiser and bakuchiol mixed together? X
Hello Gemma, I have been using this skincare routine in the morning for about 2-3 weeks. I find my skin much drier than usual (what usual is!). What part do you think Is the culprit? I also wear a cotton mask off and on during the day. My skin is normal to dry, particularly around my mouth. At night I use curology. Thank you and I hope you are doing well.
Hi Gemma, great video as usual. Exactly what I was looking for when I mentioned this couple of days back. Was wondering if you have tried the new No 7 Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex with Matrixyl 3000+??? If you have, what do you think about this one? I would really love your opinion or if others in the pack have tried it. Thanks a lot and have a great day! xx
Brilliant! Another great video- thank you 😊 as you know I’m relatively new here, so I may have missed what your take is on eye creams? I’ve noticed you didn’t include that in your routine (as a separate product)? Xxx
I don't feel an eye cream is necessary but understand that people still like to use them. No judgement from me. I just apply my normal face cream around the eyes as well xxx
Thank you so much for the response- I was always told that the particles (whatever that means) in eye creams are smaller to prevent puffiness 🤷♀️. Do you know if that is true or just another selling mechanism lol xxx
Hi Gemma! I’ve been told that NOT every SPF 🧴 is good to use on the undereyes and the eyelid. What is your opinion about that? And how do I know what SPF I can use on the eye area if it doesn’t say that specific on the package? 😘♥️
Thank you so much for posting this video, it was really educational! I was wondering what you think about Paula’s Choice Redness Relief products? I was going to buy the serum but now I’m thinking of just trying out some of this instead~
Good morning Gemma, Do you or Pampered Wolf pact used or know of an eye serum- Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate by NIOD? Any information welcomed. I ordered it and curious to know if anyone else has used it.
Hi, I love your videos! I did leave a comment on another video but just saw this one pop up so I'll ask the same question here! What are your thoughts on Ethylated Ascorbic acid? I used to use L ascorbic acid but stopped due to its instability and I've been using the THD form of vitamin C for a few months. I've read that the ethylated version has both lipid and hydrophilic properties and its much more stable than regular L ascorbic acid. I understand this form of Vit C has been around for a bit but I'm only just now learning about it and any information you have would be wonderful, thank you!! :)
I'm going to look into this Brynn. Although I do a lot of research into ingredients and their differing abilities, as I can't use vitamin C on my skin I haven't researched this area in while so am a little out of date. Great question though and I'll write it on my list of ingredients to focus on xxx
Again, another phenomenal video. THANK YOU! I was warned by a derm years ago about the side effects of hydroquione. Is that no longer a concern or issue?
You're always best getting hydroquinone on prescription even if it's available over the counter. The reason I say that is that you will be constantly supported by a professional that can advise you when to stop and how to apply. I'm not concerned about the side effects. Most of the issues within studies were unfounded and flawed. I do think it's an ingredient that needs to be approached with care though xxx
I am a new viewer and I must say thank you for such a great and informative video. I was wondering if I can substitute the IT confidence in a cream anti age moisturizer for the cerve, until I finish it? It's an expensive moisturizer so I would like to finish it.
This was a brilliant video for me, thank you! I’m just wondering though, why haven’t you used the Ordinary Buffet or Matrixyl products as you always rave about them. 🤔 xx
Love this educational video, thank you very helpful, I am a 57 year old of mix heritage and have developed melasma with menopause, I am also using a similar routine, used the ordinary for a while but need something else, so started using the VitaB3 source like it very much not tacky on the skin, first Hada labo Albutin tone them Niacinamide10% plus other good things in it, after Anthelios 50 mineral tinted no moisturize very hot here Maryland USA.. For night time Azelaic zelaic acid 10 serum from Cos De BAHA love it with my retin A 0.025% and Hydroquinone 4% prescription plus CeraVe pm facial moisturizing lotion all this at night.
I was going to suggest that too, the Flawless Brightly serum has niacinamide, azelaic acid and bakuchiol so would save having to mix your own cocktail of serums. Get it ready made in the right proportions, and by an expert. The Flawless Nightly serum is good too.
Hai I’m 53 and watching your video’s for 1 year or So and because of you I use niaciamide every day. And it is amazing Thanks for that! But I have 3 spots big on my left Cheak and they are there for a lot of years and yust as you Saïd they won’t go away but getting a bit lichter but overal my pores are smaller and my skin is Looking overal much firmer! So Thanks again! Keep up The good work you are doing fantastic! Greetings from Holland 👌🌹🌹
I'm desperate to try The Dr Sam Bunting products. I trust her implicitly. She's amazing. The way I've done this routine is much more affordable however but does take a little longer as you need to create your own cocktail xxx
@@PamperedWolf I use The Ordinary myself and I love it. It's efficient and cheap, plus you can remove one of two products from the routine if you want to take a break. Dr Sam's products sound promising as well and I would love to hear your opinion on them.😊 xxx
Hi Gemma! I read that the TO azelaic needs to be applied last due to the silicones. Is it okay to apply sunscreen over top of silicone products? Will putting my moisturizer on underneath the azelaic reduce the effectiveness of the azelaic?
By applying it within a cocktail you will avoid the pilling of the silicones. It will also help the sunscreen application over the top. I would apply your moisturiser within the azelaic acid xxx
Do you have any advice on getting rid off, minimising or managing pigmentation/sun damage/freckles on the body........shoulders, arms, hands? i'm loving your videos, i'm a new subscriber and really benefiting from your advice. Thank you X
This was super useful, thank you! Azaleic acid is prohibited in Canada unfortunately so we can’t get it. You said that bacuchiol is just as good...can you recommend an addition product to replace the azaleic acid please? Can I use matrixyl serum or is that going to irritate?
I asked in your other video if any of the products you mentioned work for brown spots on arms and legs? Also does your mom use these products. If so can you share her routine. Thanks Gemma.
I’ve always loved your videos Gemma! Thanks for your advice! My routine is very similar to yours, though I’d like to try adding a bakuchiol product in my routine soon. My only question for you is how and when you add in some exfoliation during the week? I’ve been using drunk elephant TLC framboos 3-4 times per week but would like to switch to something gentler (or less expensive at the very least.) Maybe some aha/bha combo.
Peptides can be quite tricky and depending on the peptide formula they can cause irritation with some ingredients which is why I've left them out in this routine. They won't hinder the other products usually so you could try using them in conjunction. xxx
Hi Gemma, thanks for a great and informative video. This really helped clear up a great deal of confusion for me. I do have a few questions though. First of all in the morning do you have to use the Cera-v or can you use another moisturizer to deliver the three products in a cocktail? I currently use tatcha water cream for the warmer months and in the winter I like Charlotte Tillbury magic cream. My second question: is there a reason why you use a different moisturizer in the morning than you do in the evening routine? Regarding sunscreens I have been using the Clinique broad-spectrum SPF 50 as it’s a mineral sunscreen and I prefer mineral to chemical; is this all right? Lastly and this is an unrelated question to this particular video but I have a lot of peach fuzz (very light blonde) on my face especially after menopause. I noticed your video on dermaplaning at home and you recommended a Neet product.I live in the United States and I have been unable to find it in stores or online anywhere. Is there a similar device that you would recommend that I would be able to purchase here in the states that is around the same price point? Again many, many thanks! Deb
Have you tried Klairs freshly juiced vitamin C drops serum? It’s one of those vit C serums that seems to agree with everyone’s skin, even those who can’t find one the skin tolerates.
The advice not to apply vit c and Niacinamide together was based on an old study. Just let the vitamin c absorb first because it needs a lower ph to penetrate the skin. Niacinamide is actually really beneficial for daytime use as it has an important role in preventing/repairing oxidative DNA damage.
I have to say that I am so glad I found you! I saw your last hyperpigmentation video and this one. I did have two questions. One, where would you put glycolic acid toner in this in this routine or is it not necessary? The second thing is are there any cruelty free moisturizers that could be subbed in for the CeraVe? I understand if you don't have time to answer this but I figured I would ask. Thanks again for your videos and I am off to start surfing them.
Azelaic acid is a mild exfoliant so you shouldn't need it, but if you find it a necessary step then you can alternate between retinoid and glycolic xxx
I started using Dr Sam's Flawless Nightly serum a few months ago. It has both Retinol and Bakuchiol, as well as Niacinamide and Azelaic Acid. It also has the added bonus of being fragrance free. I have recently started using her Brightly serum in the morning, which also contains Niacinamide and Bakuchiol. I started using Niacinamide about 7 years ago when I became hooked on Manyo Factory's Galactomyces Niacin Essence which worked wonders on my skin.
I'm desperate to try The Dr Sam Bunting products. I trust her implicitly. She's amazing. The way I've done this routine is much more affordable however but does take a little longer as you need to create your own cocktail xxx
Have you ever tried the Bioelement skincare line? I currently have used this line for several years. Would love your thought. Also have you heard of TataHarper line?
Gemma, do you need to use a sunscreen if you never or hardly ever, step outside? I hate sunscreen and I don’t use it but on a normal day I get in the car when it’s dark or not bright, drive to work, take three steps from car park to office and leave when it’s dark. While we’re at home I go to my office in the lounge and take vitamin d.
if you sit near a window, then yes, if you sit in a 'cavelike room then no. If you go outside for more than 1 second a day...even if it;'s just to take out the bins...yes xxx
Good, you didn't recommend Murad's Dark spot corrector! I used it 3 days back and immediately next day morning saw rashes & redness on my face on the spot where I used. Now since 2 days am trying to restore my skin. So disappointed. I have tried using Niacianimide from Ordinary & other Brands , haven't seen any improvement.
I've been using some products to reduce dark spots. Don't expect fast results, and they will be subtle. The best results I've seen are from laser treatment from dermatologists, not at-home routines.
Will Niacinamide cause a purge? I seem to break out when I use it and am trying to figure out if it is part of the process or if I cannot use it. Is there an acceptable substitute for it? What are your thoughts on squalane?
I don't know exact science about it. But have done some research. The standard recommendation is that it is a gold for all skin and it shouldn't cause any intolerance. Although, it is common to get worst before it gets better. I've started with Niacinamide, for the very first time, 4 weeks ago. I didn't exactly have a break out or a purge, but my redness had increased in the beginning. Now the redness is as usual, but my skin overall feels better. I will give it a month more before I add some other goodies in my routine :-) Good luck to you!
Cheryl Gardner I've had the same problems when I started with Niacinamide, Cheryl. I used it 3 times a week first and then build up slowly. Now I cannot live without it 😉. It's a miracle in a bottle 😂. Greetings from Germany, Sabine
Niacinamide is an amazing ingredient, but like many of the wolf pack have already said it can cause a few issues when you first start using it. I would recommend continued use for a month. If the side effects don't start to dissipate after that then discontinue use xxx
Hi i use my tretinoin between 3 to 5 nights a week depending on the time of year and how my skin is behaving (I have mild rosacea and eczema). I get my dermatica bottle dispatched every 56 days or almost 2 months. That makes it very cost effective for me @£22.50 plus postage every 56 days. The alternate evenings I use azelaic acid, or I dermaplane, or I do a facial with a mild enzyme exfoliant. None of these things can be used in the same routine (or the same day) as tretinoin anyway, so this works very well for me. I have hypersensitive skin which is very dry, so it doesn't tolerate tretinoin every night in any case. I hope that helps clear up any confusion, as you can choose to have your tretinoin delivered anywhere from 28 to 56 days apart. Best wishes.
Sorry if this is an stupid question but I'm not sure how does it work here in the UK... where do you get an hydroquinone prescription? GP or private dermatologist? In Spain you can buy it from the Farmacy if it is 2% hydroquinone but if you need the 4% then you need a prescription from your dermatologist.
Hydroquinone is only available on prescription in the UK. You may be able to get it from your GP (perhaps if they offer private prescriptions) or with a private dermatologist consultation. You can also get an online private prescription from Dermatica with or without the tretinoin in your bottle. Hope that helps.
Is the laser treatment painful? It’s sound it, but I think mine is too far gone. After having my daughter I didn’t do a thing for my skin for the first five years. Now I’ve got terrible hyperpigmentation and it’s not shifting with the things I’m using so far. All ordinary products of course lols 😂

items have been purchased and I look forward to seeing what my skin looks like in the next 6-9 months. Thank you Gemma

I still love the Ultrasun. It's a great product with great protection, but I find it slightly (not all the time, but sometimes) temperamental. xxx
Hey...I was waiting for this and I can’t believe I’m the first one!!! Thank you so much, this is so helpful for my hyperpigmentation 👍❤️

So glad I came across your channel, I had nk idea I could improve and prevent my hyperpigmentation
Love that you have back supplies. I have a backup lipstick. Yep. Always. Never want to run out. This video was very helpful. Thanks.
This was very helpful! I love that the routine covers so many concerns!
You are so refreshing, Gemma. Thank you. I’m saving this video to refer to when I need to replace my current products. ❤️
Ugh! I hate when products pill so I'm very grateful to you for sharing your trick for the cocktail
.
I've never had an issue with The ordinary niacinamide unless I've applied too much but it will react differently on everyone xxx
I love the Garden of Wisdom AA 🙌🙌
"Let's dive right in (uses swimming diving hands)"... "What is this? (uses swimming diving hands)". This is a perfect example of why you are one of my favorites to watch. You do you and you don't edit it out! You're joyful and you enjoy what you do! Thank you!
Apart from your amazing videos I would like to tell you that I am impresed of how nice person you are! So sweet and so true!!!
Azelaic acid is also a mild exfoliant so if you're using it every day you shouldn't need lactic acid or glycolic xxx
Since watching this video I’ve tried a few you’ve recommended and I’m so happy with the products 👌🏼❤️ I love the cereve, and just to let u know they have a £4 off voucher through amazon so I got a really good deal 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks again for all of your amazing tips
Great video! Thanks so much! Blessings from Canada!
Is that diamond ring new? It’s huge! Beautiful!
I don’t have any of these problems, but I watch all your videos! 😘😘😘
And I love you for it Jen xxx
Thank you Gemma for all skincare advice. I specially like this one 😘
thank you The Ordinary. I've been using their products since your recommended years ago. Yippee skippee. and a great big YAY
Great video thank you. But please make it known that CeraVe isn’t cruelty-free, for anyone wishing to avoid animal-tested products.
Very learn video,i do not think it is for me.Aldo i have some products i see.you are the best and help full. Here you have some things that are help full. Thanks so much.🥰💯
Such an informative channel! Love!
Hello Gema I enjoy watching you thank u ,just 1 question do I need to use all the products from the morning routine in the night routine?
Addicted to your channel at the moment get more info from you ref the ordinary than I do from their website . New sub here 😁
Welcome to the pack, Dayna 😊! Greetings, Sabine
Thank you 🙏 soo much very informative video 😍
I'm new to your videos and love all of your advice. I too suffer from hyperpigmentation. Would microneedling help the skin absorb the ingredients better or aggravate it?
Your vids are fantastic, can I ask which of the ordinary retinol s would you recommend as monies won’t stretch to the product you use ☹️.Is it just a case of starting off on the lower percent ones and working up to 2% as skin allows.😃😃
Look in the description box xxx
Gemma can you recommend a retinol for the body (especially the arms) to get rid of the brown sun spots
These are relatively inexpensive OTC products you can use (along with sunscreen) according to Prevention magazine:
Hydroquinone
Tranexamic acid
Glycolic acid
Kojic acid
Licorice root extract
Niacinamide
Vitamin C
Some people like Glytone body lotion
JP M Thank you
Gemma: thank you for the video and all your efforts at educating us!
Dominique The easy minimalist this isn’t my routine. This is my take on a hyperpigmentation routine. Xxx
@Pampered Wolf Sorry, my comment wasn’t for this specific video, I did watch your personal simplified routine video! 😃
Dominique The easy minimalist haha ok. I got a bit of irritation with buffet so switched to matrixyl instead. Buffet is still fantastic xxx
Again, another fantastic video! Can I ask the color of your nail polish? Love it!
It's Muse from Revolution xxx
@@PamperedWolf Thanks! 💅
Youhoo...that nail color is lovely
This is so appreciated and helpful, thank you for sharing. xx
Thanks a lot and have a great day! xx
I love the no 7 retinol
I use Ultrasun face spf Tinted over skincare with no pilling. I find it an excellent product.
I also think it's excellent but have found it somewhat temperamental xxx
You are glowing girl 🔥
Gorgeous contact lenses today! And what is that stunning nail polish, please?
It's Muse from Revolution xxx
I use the Tinted La Roche-Posay sunscreen..... is that OK? Or should I use the untinted version 🤔
Hi Gemma, for the evening routine should I use the Bachiol before or after the Retinoid emulsion or mixed in with? X
Hi Gemma!
I’ve been told that NOT every SPF 🧴 is good to use on the undereyes and the eyelid. What is your opinion about that? And how do I know what SPF I can use on the eye area if it doesn’t say that specific on the package? 😘♥️
Some SPFs can make the eyes sting. xxx
Thank you so much for posting this video, it was really educational! I was wondering what you think about Paula’s Choice Redness Relief products? I was going to buy the serum but now I’m thinking of just trying out some of this instead~
They are fabulous but expensive xxx
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Hi Gemma if i use there products will they get rid of spots?
Great video!!😘
Thank you! I needed this 🙏🏻
Good morning Gemma,
Do you or Pampered Wolf pact used or know of an eye serum- Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate by NIOD?
@@PamperedWolf Thank you so much!
Again, another phenomenal video. THANK YOU! I was warned by a derm years ago about the side effects of hydroquione. Is that no longer a concern or issue?
Hi you could use it for 3 months and stop for 1 month. But ask your doctor.
@@PamperedWolf Great! Thank you for your reply!
@@francisalvarez4240 Thank you!
Can I use the azelaic acid in the morning along with The Ordinary Buffet which has peptides and also along with my Vitamin C ?
I am a new viewer and I must say thank you for such a great and informative video. I was wondering if I can substitute the IT confidence in a cream anti age moisturizer for the cerve, until I finish it? It's an expensive moisturizer so I would like to finish it.
You can do, but be warned, that specific cream has A LOT of essential oils in it which can create sensitivity to sun damage xxx
@@PamperedWolf Thank you. I didn't know that. This explains a lot 🙂
Could you do a review to Dr Sam's products? The morning serum contains Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide, Ascorbyl Glucoside and Bakuchiol.
Great minds think alike. I have been using them too. It is also really helpful that she is very specific on how to build up the amounts.
Thank you X
You can use the same results on the body as you use on the face. The main thing I'd advise is a good sunscreen xxx
This was super useful, thank you! Azaleic acid is prohibited in Canada unfortunately so we can’t get it. You said that bacuchiol is just as good...can you recommend an addition product to replace the azaleic acid please? Can I use matrixyl serum or is that going to irritate?
You can use a vitamin C xxx
I asked in your other video if any of the products you mentioned work for brown spots on arms and legs? Also does your mom use these products. If so can you share her routine. Thanks Gemma.
Skin is skin. These products will work on the face to the body xxx
Is there an alternative for U.S. customers to some of the UK products? I can't seem to order a couple of these.
Will peptides interfere with these actives? Thanks for this great video!
Peptides can be quite tricky and depending on the peptide formula they can cause irritation with some ingredients which is why I've left them out in this routine. They won't hinder the other products usually so you could try using them in conjunction. xxx
Pampered Wolf Thanks!
Deb
You can use any moisturiser as long as it doesn't have actives xxx
Ty
Have you tried Klairs freshly juiced vitamin C drops serum? It’s one of those vit C serums that seems to agree with everyone’s skin, even those who can’t find one the skin tolerates.
I have tried this and it was okay for me but I found the Rohto Mentholatum one even more effective - but I don't seem to be sensitive to Vitamin C.
How would you incorporate Vit C or specialty toners (niacinamide AM/glycolic PM)?
what if you also have a vitamin C serum you use in the morning? Can i apply the Ordinary Nicinimide at night?
Paula's Choice products are cruelty free and have many great options, especially the "Ceramide-Enriched Firming Moisturizer"
Hi, I love vitamin c serum in my morning routine so where would I put it in this? Or should I alternate this routine with vit c? Many thanks
I mention that in the v video Jenny xxx
Pampered Wolf Oh, I must have missed that bit. I’ll try to watch it again
Wow love it!! how old are you?
This is so helpful.
Pampered Wolf thank you luvly!
Do you know if these products are available in Canada?
I have the Azelaic acid, can I use it after dermarolling (ie after serums)?
I find it interesting that both this video and your last one about hyper-pigmentation starts with an ad for a dark spot corrector. :D
Wow that's unusual it will be so targeted. I often get adverts for stairlifts 🤣 xxx
Alpha Arbutun from The Ordinary is very good
Results will take a loooong time 🤷♀️. You have to be patient. Hope you'll find products that work for you. Greetings, Sabine
What are your thoughts on Alpha Arbutin? Lactic Acid?
Check out the description box xxx
I will give it a month more before I add some other goodies in my routine :-)
Good luck to you!
@@DukeShe Thank you so much for sharing with me. I really want to be able to use it so I will continue giving it a go and see what progresses.
@@PamperedWolf Will do! I appreciate the direction from you and the other responses. Fingers crossed that all will go well.
Very interesting thanks. Is that right, tretinoin £22.50 a week? Not month? No way I could afford that if it’s weekly.
Trish Hickson I was wondering the same thing
No sorry it’s per month xxx
Loraine Mcgillivray Thank you very much for that information.
Pampered Wolf many thanks 👍
From Dermatica you can get 4% hydroquinone xxx
Loraine Mcgillivray Thank you ❤️
Pampered Wolf Thank you ❤️
Azelaic Acid is banned in Canada. What do you recommend instead?
Blimey really? Bakuchiol is great xxx
Where can I find the product in UAE?
What about toner? I don't ever hear you mention that. Thanks.
I don't think a toner is necessary, but you can use one if you like them xxx
Is the laser treatment painful? It’s sound it, but I think mine is too far gone. After having my daughter I didn’t do a thing for my skin for the first five years. Now I’ve got terrible hyperpigmentation and it’s not shifting with the things I’m using so far. All ordinary products of course lols 😂
There's a tingling sensation a little like applying a very strong vitamin C, but I wouldn't say it's painful xxx
