My only complaint is I forgot my frozen water bottles at home and didn’t realize until I got to the launch, so I had to delay my start about an hour driving to the nearest town!
The answer to Any question starting with “do bass eat…” will Always be yes. But it’s still a treat to watch you sir my gf and I get excited to see what you fish with and for every video :) love from Illinois
@@thims1961 I used to make lures out of my Creepy Crawlers kit when I was a kid. Good times. They just didn't have durability, and (as an adult now) I pray that they weren't toxic for the bodies of water that I used them in, lol.
I love the sound of paddling a canoe through smooth glass-like water. It's a relaxing sound that takes away alot of stress. You had a nice day fishing. Plenty of lunkers.
😂 I usually try to watch the fish swim away for a few seconds, that way it’s easier to transition into the next clip without me and the camera looking all over to put the net away and what not lol
Your videos have really opened my eyes to the advantages of a paddled Kayak. You fish water that a trolling motor could never enter. You catch unmolested fish in those areas.
I have an Ascend 133X that I've decked TF out. I have gotten that thing into many places that boat owners can only dream of; from bodies of water with nowhere to launch, to canals that require my winch to launch and get it back up, to mountain lakes that no boat could ever get into. But when I took a trip and used my friends smaller yak with nothing but a paddle, it was life changing. I could easily get that thing into places that I could only dream about getting my 133X into, or places that would at least take a ton of effort to get my 133X into. And like you said, the fishing pressure was basically non-existent in many of those areas that I got into with the smaller yak. Awesome comment and realization, Doug.
I just bought my first whopper ploppers this spring because of your videos... and I LOVE them. Going to inlaws small cottage on a small lake in central Ontario, with BIG largemouth and good smallies too. Don't think I've missed a Saturday morning video in a while. So peaceful!!
Lunkerhunt has Great top water lures I can’t recommend their frogs enough they cast So well and look as close as you can get to a real frog super fun too. Sometimes when fish don’t want it I cast in front of the biggest actual frog I can find and I swear to God when the lure touches them it’s like the start of a wrestling match😂bullfrogs are ferocious
I bought a kayak and now I’m anxious to give it a try. It should be here on Sep 11. My plan is to make this a hobby with my 11 year old son. He likes to watch your videos with me. Whenever I run your videos and you say “Hi everyone, it’s a beautiful day for some kayak fishing” my son runs downstairs to watch it with me. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I still find it almost impossible that you are out there catching fish but haven't spent 10k on a pedal kayak with 15 different sonar screens and 10 spare rods... Keep it coming man! Love the videos!
I’d like to bring my Hobie out there to stand up fish a little easier but it’s a long hill to cart back up at the end of the day and I barely make it with my Tarpon packed light.
I'd say you got your money's worth with those two lures, given all the chunky bass you landed. This was one of those days that combined the perfect conditions, location, lure, technique, and timing. Very special.
My goodness, what a most enjoyable fishing session! 11 bass all of them quite decent sized. The scenery is so beautiful with plenty of hiding places for the fish ambushing their prey. Real bliss for topwater fishing near the algae or a patch of water inside. Great those bites at times 3:50, 11:00 and 18:20.
I’ve made a few trips to this lake now and every time it’s been absolutely amazing topwater fishing! It’s a little farther drive but definitely one of my favorite spots!
I do love Saturday mornings, Matt posts his new video ... However i do have to practice self control and will save this video for my Lunch break at work. Not an easy thing to do😳. Nothing better than a Saturday morning with a good cup of coffee watching Matt hammer some smallies.. Man do i miss the Midwest where i grew up. Spent a lot of time down in Tennessee as well as a young lad fishing with cousins. I live in the desert now... Las Vegas to be particular. Not the ideal location for fishing..at least not the kind I'm Accustomed to... Thanks for what you do Matt! You're videoms never disappoint.
44 years ago I began fishing again as an adult. It was on a 50 acre private lake in CT. Fish and strikes like the ones you were getting in this video are why I got into bass fishing at that time. What a summer I had that first year. I have never found another place that matched that lake. I went back to it about 8 years later and had the best day of bass fishing I've ever had. I sure wish I could find another place like that near where I live now. Today, 8 - 10 fish would be an epic day number wise, and then, most of the time, they'd all be under a pound. Currently, I am limited to bank fishing, so that doesn't help, and most of the ponds around me are privately owned. I understand that developers have come in and bought up all the land around the best fishing ponds and built private subdivisions around them. Now you have to live there to fish them. Ya gotta love where I live in NC. They're killing me! Thank God for ultra lite. At least I can have a great time on occasion pan fishing, although even that is slow right now. I am Sooo looking forward to the Fall. The heat this summer and last has made for the worst summer seasoal fishing for me in the past several years. Thank you very much for sharing and reminding me of why I used to enjoy bass fishing so much. I hope to get my chance once again soon. Your trips continue to give me hope and I thoroughly enjoy your success on every trip you share! Blessings!

Great video, those Bass were hungry for roach! It’s been many years since I have fished, but your channel and The FIsh Locker (based near where I live in Cornwall UK) are easily the most skilled, entertaining and educational videos, plus amazingly relaxing to watch.
Matt it's another great video and trip on the lake. My favorite bites were the last 3 ending with the sunny side up jumper off the point. I'm always scanning when on the water and to watch you collect intwl and catch those fish makes me smile. From the bank its a little harder using the casting rod with suburbanites not liking you to clear the bank runway but still fun. You drop a cast on target, flip the line twist off the rod and weeds from your paddle on auto pilot. Yeah you've done it once or twice...we know but also know we appreciate it. Blessings brother
Thank you! I’ve been to this lake a few times now, still have a couple vids to post from there, and every trip there’s been several awesome catches! The first two and the one later I chased down the splash on were my favorites from this trip!
There were at least 7-8 fish I left out of the video too. I also decided I couldn’t leave yet after shooting the outro for this video and finished the day off with a half dozen more fishing a Spro rat along the deep weed edges!

God damn. I live in Germany, but I grew up in the States and bass fishing was part of my upbringing. I finally got a fishing license here in Germany and for months I've been trying to catch any type of fish (no bass here). Still haven't even had a nibble. I'm starting to doubt myself. I can't believe, that there is no fish in these waters. I get so jealous watching him catch one after the other 😂😂

Fabulous video. Great content. Just learned about the Roach. Hope I can find a couple. Love your channel. Superb content, no matter the target species. TLF
It was a great lure I’d recommend bringing a tube of super glue for repairs though. The legs started to peel off the first one and that eyelet needed a glueing every 5-6 fish it seemed. I’m rough on lures though pretty much casting them into every low branch I see and bouncing them off logs. Other than that it worked really well!
seeing videos like these from you make me instantly want to see a Marling Baits collab. He makes all kinds of weird lures and i could see the potential of you two making a really weird lure and catching some fish one them
I had far more luck this morning throwing the cicada crawling lure than I did with a frog and jointed rapala. I just had to let the cicada sit there for a minute are two and it would get bit. It's been working for me all summer too.
Fish are generally opportunistic feeders. Yes, sometimes you have to go through some lures to see what they bite. I dealt with this today. Since the fall transition is upon us, a great lure to use is owner block head ned rig. It's weedless with an elatech creyfish reddish color with trophy bass. I sadly lost one lol 😂 I was spacing for a couple of seconds and sadly lost the only bass I could have caught. I believe it's because I'm tired from working hard all week. No biggie, I had a great time. 😊 I love fishing. Summer has been tough because it's been hot. Once you notice the fall transition, it's important to keep moving to where bass will stage when winter comes in a few months. Tomorrow I'll move to a new spot. Then go back to a spot I went to before in mid-September and caught some nice smallies and almost a striper to see if they'll stage in the spots I was in last year. Either way, I'll keep on top of it when I can to track the bass. Long as there's no heavy rain, of course 😊
I always love the 10 seconds before the voice intro - just quiet paddling and the sounds of nature. Then, “Howdy everyone”
Yep the bass eats everything 🐟on, thanks for great videos
I'M BACK AT IT AGAIN
Always beautiful, always quiet. Well, there’s that one pike spot on the interstate, but the fish there make it worth the road noise.
Yep. The first 10 seconds of most of his intro's are therapy for me just because of that. Let alone the rest of the video(s).
that is the best trademark start to Matt's videos... i agree with you on that one 😎👍
No annoying sponsorships no trying to get us to buy his products. Just a great man making wholesome videos truly the best fishing UA-cam channel.
Definitely my favorite UA-cam fishing channel! No stupid music either. Like you are out with him.
agreed, plus no darn fishing challenges either
Very little a guy could complain about on this fishing day. Outstanding looking fish. Thanks for sharing.

You are very lucky to have such great places to fish. Beautiful scenery, crystal clear water and big musky, pike, smallies and largies!
And no annoying wake boats, jet skis, and obnoxious drunks.

Insane! Those Bass looked like they had lead weights in their stomach!!
