Blender tutorial about creating ground shockwave deformation on a real video footage, morphing the real scene !
This exercise is a combination of motion tracking, shading, modifiers, color correction and compositing all done entirely in blender.
This is just the basic, you can do a lot better playing with it!

I tried experimenting with a lot of methods(from my comment on the other video) and some other ones as well. And yes your method is the best for a beginners tutorial. The end result is perfect, no unnecessary use of advance features and really clever workarounds to problems. Great video, would love to see similar content in the future!
