Volume shaders are like a magic trick in that when you realize how it's done, it suddenly seems so obvious lol. My mind always goes straight to simulation when I see clouds or tornados in 3D art.
This is such a beautiful effect especially that it mimics real world without a simulation AND works in eevee! Thanks for this freebie you've got a new fan and subscriber for sure.
bro u saved me from the headache of going through smoke sim and force fields :D I can with no doubt say you are the master of Shading Nodes in Blender Community.
I wanted a quick and dirty tornado in the distance. Took one of Ian Hubert's steam videos, wrapped it around an upside down cone, and tweaked it a bit. Gave it some displacement, and twisted :p Thought it fair enough. he uses photos and videos for quick and dirty effects so... Looked horrible close up, but in the distance it was fine. Put stuff at the base to hide stuff. (I am a hobbyist and clearly not particularly good at this)
A good artist deserves to be praised. An incredible work deserves to be highlighted. His work fascinated me. His logical thinking in building nodes (Shade Nodes texture) was incredibly smart. The realistic result was very expressive and surprised me a lot. I'm doing a personal project where I really needed a very realistic Tornado. I believe that a few more tweaks to my configuration will be perfect. Thank you very much for sharing. It was Note 10! I think the most amazing thing I found in UA-cam searches. Congratulations!
this is sweet. I´ve tried to create similar for awhile now and this is so simple when you do it. All other ways to make this seems historical. Thank you for sharing this.
pretty awesome and unique work, using driver istead of key frames, using complex stuff dividing on simple stuff with detailed explanations, u deserved subscription
Great tutorial. Would be cool if you could make the tornado curvy, rather than going straight up/down, and to not have the hard edges where the cube ends.
Wow im amazed by this, thanks for showing us, and explaining how it works. Im terrible with math so this is all so helpful, and now i understand that volumes that ive placed in scenes dont have to be squarish
Je suis Estonien, mais j'aime bien le français et la culture internet française. J'ai appris le français indépendamment quand j'avais 14 ans, et ça m'a été assez utile. Mon histoire en bref.
Brilliant! Even though I was late to this tutorial (shame on me) It's super exciting to learn about this super turbulent volume hack. Thank you so much!
that's really cool! Just not sure the ocean would be such calm during a tornado and the weather should be kinda gloomy, I guess.. But anyway, tornado is just WOW!
well this is exactly what I needed but as soon as I saw it was volumetric stuff I couldnt keep following. Last time I tryed anything volumetric I could almost fry an egg over my laptop :( still liked and saved for later :D
Wo warst du vor 1,5 Jahr. Das ist genau was ich gesucht habe ! Sehr cool gemacht und auch so einfach ist das (ist nicht einfach😅) ! Super Arbeit! Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome man, your videos are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us! I look forward to seeing more! Keep up the great work.
He is one of the most underrated blender creator.
Fr.
totally agree - this videos are really helpful and really well explained
sadly :(
You are so right. When I finish my movie, I will credit him for such amazing work he does
No he's growing😆
all these effects are freaking crazy -- nice work
Thank you! It is (freaking) motivating to hear that.
Probably the most cinematic Blender shot I've ever seen. Well done and thank you for the tutorial.

Man, suddenly all my favourite blender youtubers coming up with these shortcut simulation videos, it's awesome 😍 thank you so much 😁
6:37 is a math note, just in case you were also confused
ohh u saved my day....thanks
this was the most fun, entertaining and informative sponsor advert ever ! and thankyou for this incredible video man!!
This is such a beautiful effect especially that it mimics real world without a simulation AND works in eevee! Thanks for this freebie you've got a new fan and subscriber for sure.
This is creative. I'm so used to just jumping into Houdini these days but this result definitely holds up mid to distant at the least. Nice work!
Dude this channel is criminally underrated. Leaving a comment for the algorithm 😉
Appreciate it!
Wow. This just comes to show that you can render just about anything with Blender. Thankyou for this👍
I think you make the simplest setups for the most complicated looking vfx in Blender... I'm mind blown every time!
Thanks, man!
Man this tutorial was gold, already rendering out my tornado scene, your brain being able to figure out this math is insane haha
this is some next level looking stuff, good job
bro u saved me from the headache of going through smoke sim and force fields :D
I can with no doubt say you are the master of Shading Nodes in Blender Community.
Wow, that's awesome! My node network for tornados was WAY too damn complicated. I'm happy you found a better way to pull it off.
I love how innovatively you use nodes for things that could be simulated
Evidently why shading and nodes generally are good and seem to be the future of cgi due to what simulations begs for from a computing perspective.
Man, this is sick, you are a blender wizard for me.
Haha, Harry Potter videos coming up right now
u make the best node vids in the blender community

That volumetric rendering explanation was great
This was a really great tutorial, and I really appreciate you showing us the full script multiple times!

Just a thought, in the northern hemisphere tornadoes usually rotate counterclockwise, this would be considered anticyclonic.
2 years late but how would one make it rotate the other way?
Really satisfying to see the evolution of the tornado
Default cube must be so proud!
Most certainly.
Man, suddenly all my favourite blender youtubers coming up with these shortcut simulation videos, it's awesome thank you so much
Awesome result! Liked and subscribed! Underrated channel!
Can eny one explain 6:37 mnt in this video? I can not add the multily node
converter>math
best project made out of the default cube
Incredible!!! I've never seen anyone make procedural tornado
You're awesome, one of the best, underated blender tutorial channel on UA-cam, thanks dude
I was about to run through another tutorial that uses the smoke sim, but this is ingenious! Thank you for this!
this is sweet. I´ve tried to create similar for awhile now and this is so simple when you do it. All other ways to make this seems historical. Thank you for sharing this.

Your videos have really helped me understand geometry nodes and shader nodes, thank you!
You are doing incredible stuff with blender itself
thanks man ! one of the best tutorials i've ever seen
Is underrated to say that something is underrated
Great tutorial. Would be cool if you could make the tornado curvy, rather than going straight up/down, and to not have the hard edges where the cube ends.
this Best Tutorial uhave done yet , Sick!!!!
Blender its absolutely awesome!
Impressive tornado and great tutorial, thank you!
Man this was mind blowing
Incredible talent
Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I am a fan mind blowing cinematic after effects
Love it! Thanks for sharing.
I like the node overviews !
Nice, I personally like them too when watching a tutorial, so I added them in.
Nice tutorial voice, easy to listen to. Great video.

Awesome work, great tutorial
Merci! Salutations à Atypique Studio!
@@BadNormals merci :)
T’es français ? I feel a little accent but can’t figure it out
Je suis Estonien, mais j'aime bien le français et la culture internet française. J'ai appris le français indépendamment quand j'avais 14 ans, et ça m'a été assez utile. Mon histoire en bref.
Solid outcome my friend
WOW It's amazingly easier than i thought it would be. Thank you for sharing!!! Learned how to make a really cool tornado
Best New Year present!!! Thank You!💜
You are just insane....
I hope you hit 100k soon ;)
Thank you VERY much for the crazy good tutorial AND the project file!
Thank you so much!
Wow Amazing!... Your a Node Genius. Using Nodes to do what many use simulations for.
Love your work and humor!
Watching the product placement was fun :D
Love to hear that!
Please consider using Screencast keys so following along is more convenient, thank you!
bruh, this is brilliant !
Brilliant! Even though I was late to this tutorial (shame on me) It's super exciting to learn about this super turbulent volume hack. Thank you so much!
Another excellent tutorial! Really appreciating how you think and how you explain it to people!
that's really cool! Just not sure the ocean would be such calm during a tornado and the weather should be kinda gloomy, I guess.. But anyway, tornado is just WOW!
Damn, that's cool

this is some really fine work! thank you so much, i always wondered how to manipulate volume densities in a more complex way. this is superb!
Amazing, thank you for sharing. Definitely need to up my shader game in general and this great tutorial will help! Much appreciated, you're awesome!
This is awesome! 🤯
Oh mahn thanks for this tutorial.
Ur not boring ur perfect 😉🤍🤍

Yo thanks for the new years present!
There you go!
This video help me to make muzzle flash for my gun. Thank you!
Great tutorial man, keep it up!
how have no ideer how you figure stuff like this out with nodes, but it looks great and thanks for shearing
Awesome man, your videos are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us! I look forward to seeing more! Keep up the great work.
Next, how to create realistic volumetric cloud earth. So we've made the earth but the clouds are volumetric instead of just a photo texture.
Lovely tutorial! That tornado looks damn good. Thank you for sharing
Amazing, man!
Great tutorials! I'm happy for your YT success
Thank you. It's very nice to hear that!
this is awesome even when I don't give a shit about making tornados in blender
There has to be more that can be done with this!
Nice work!
That's amazing man !
Praise🙇🏻♀️ subs and notify button is deserved
A moment of silence for all the starter cubes that got deleted
YOu are one master!!Bro Muchas Gracias!!
thank youuu
DUDE! TYSM!!!
Great video! Very cool.
Though the fact that you ised the default cube instead of deleting it and adding a cube almost got a thumbs down ;)
Excellent as always!! You're great!
